  1. I also can't see why people are getting upset by Villa signing a highly rated young player for what in modern day football is a low fee. If he works out then it will be hailed as a master stroke by Lambert if not then it's no Balaban, give both Bowery and Lambert some respect here.
  2. I guess if what the agent is say is correct then it's a case of too little to late. I just hope we have a decent plan B and maybe C, tick tock.
  3. WTF!, I have at times been critical of how we have been going about our business for the last 2 yrs but calling the club you say you support "pointless" is just being a **** drama queen and something I find offensive. If Villa are so pointless to you why are you posting on a Villa forum? I wonder how many games he goes to. Honestly, 'fans' like that should simply f*** off and support City. * WOOOOOOSH * Have a look at the league table. We are pointless. Apology accepted. I might have missed your point "less" but it's probably due to the bollocks you continuously seem to write about Villa. I find it "pointless" arguing with people like you however, so I'll end it there. Feel free to bite back I wont reply, see below for the reason.

Sadly yes, I just hope he can cope with the pressure as it's going to be huge.

Two isn't going to be enough CI. We need bare minimum 4, LB, DM, CF and winger. I'd also throw in another centreback if Dunne is on his way out? I have heard nothing but twitter bollocks about any new players, I appreciate that sometimes in the case of Vlaar Twitter has proven to be correct but most of the time it's made up crap. I would be amazed if we managed to get 2 good signings this week, I honestly believe they have left it too late. We may well get some over the hill has been or more lower league untried players. We may even (god forbid) see Heskey back but any established players would want either silly money in wages or time to consider a move to VP as they may think we are just too big a risk. It appears we have neither. The only caveat to that is that PL has already lined players up and deals have been agreed but to me it wouldn't make any sense. Paul Lambert seems like a good manager and he has and will continue to have my 100% support no matter what happens, I don't blame him for the under investment of the last 2-3 years.
  7. Things are never a bad as they appear Gazton sounds like you have done too much and need a break, hopefully you will feel different in time. Until then I hope you enjoy whatever it is that you want to do, oh and thanks for winding up that Baggie clearing in the woods from the Mail.

Everton at least played well against us and deserved their win, last week against a shite WH was more of a worry for me. For me it will depend on who Lambert can bring in this week and how quickly he learns which players play in which positions! Herd on the right doesn't work, Clarke at CH doesn't work, Baker at LB doesn't work, Nsomnia on the pitch doesn't work, The fonz isn't good enough, Guzan in place of Given if he has another game like that. Be in no doubts I was there home and away in 87 and we thought the same that we will somehow survive, we didn't and were pathetic this squad is just as weak and will not suddenly change no matter how good Lambert is. You can't keep getting rid of better or more experienced and replacing them with untried players and expect it to not have an adverse effect on results. Top 6 3 seasons ago, it seems like a life time. If Lerner hasn't got the money or the interest then he needs to find a new buyer who has both ASAP.
  9. I really want to believe that we can win this game but after last week it's difficult to see how the team will get itself up, we all know just how bad our performance was. Everton were the opposite. But that's football, it can happen. If Villa get off to a good start, supporters backing the team who knows we may get on a roll. Heart Villa 2-1, head 0-2 Everton.
  10. A big concern now is that interview with Lambert sounded (for me anyway) like he hadn't got anything on the go or was about to happen. Now he could be a great poker player and next week delight us all with a few good signings but the main thing is that when he gave that interview he would have known or had a good idea the Gary Gardner knee was gone and so was going to be out for the season. With GG fit we still needed and least 2 players just compete imo, we now need to replace GG as well. He knew that but his message was one that has puts doubt in my mind as to whether or not can deliver transfer targets. He has a massive season ahead with the lack of depth in this squad, changing the way the team plays, managing the paying fans expectations etc. If Randy has (who knows?) given him the okay to spend and he doesn't then I hope for all our sakes (and sanity) that he is as good as he thinks he is.
  11. I understand the response that it could be the end of his career but physically wise I doubt it.. Those of us who live in Oz know the amount of times players here have these types of injuries playing AFL, the advancement in repairing knees is amazing. His knee will be back stronger than before. For me though it will be the mental side of the game for him, will he be able to cope? From what I have read he has a good family (apart from Craig lol) who will help to keep his spirits up and besides he has overcome this once he can do it again. The main issue is though will he ever be good enough for the 1st team, not on his performances so far and losing another season wont help him. I wish him all the best and hope that one day he will become the player we all hoped we had, good luck Gary.
  12. I had hoped that the poster/rumour of 8m to spend was BS but after what we have seen happen over the summer thus far and now PL latest interview I think that they might have been spot on. The only negative Lambert missed out was "cheap" like all 4 new signings, I'm not complaining about them nor about the good value Villa seem to have had with them but it's appearing more and more like the main criteria is cost. Another season of struggling awaits us, oh well I'll take the positives. A manager that I like, no Collins hoofballs, Warnock and Hutton out of the squad, Heskey gone, A CH who looks like he gives a **** and pass, pass x10 and then back pass lol Shame because I (and most of us) hoped that Lerner having appointed a decent manager would release the purse strings a little more and give him a chance, I just hope that this time the supporters realise who's to blame if and when this season turns into another 11/12 season. This time it's not going to be the manager but the owner.
  13. Oh boy if I had of seen him over here I would have smacked that ginger clearing in the woods. again more of it wasn't me bollocks from this useless muppet, thank god he has gone.
  14. Could you take it back? Nah, I'm in Perth Australia, I'll email a photo to them as if it has happened with this shirt it might not be a 1 off. 1st time I need the General to whinge at hahaha.
  15. Macron logos on the shoulders are already peeling and lifting off, quality lol
  16. For me he was by far the best midfielder for Villa on Saturday he tried everything to push the team on but ultimately it came to nothing. I wonder if PL will play both Delph and KEA together again as they seemed to be doing the same job. My gut feeling is no as (if correct) I think KEA will get the nod over Delph which is a shame as I think he deserves a run.
  17. I think most of us realise that Saturday was disappointing and after the 2 previous seasons it's understandable that some of us are really concerned by what we saw but I'm sure Paul Lambert will get it right. I don't blame PL for the under funding that Lerner and co have done for too long, he will try his best to change things around of that I'm sure so I doubt very much that there will be the sort of scenes that Mcshit, Houllier from the supporters unless he suddenly changes from wanting to be a winner. I saw nothing positive on Saturday but you know what? PL will learn a lot from that game which will stand him in good stead, at the end of the day it was only 1-0 and not a thumping. The concerns are that we go on a run of defeats and the squads confidence drops but as long as we can see that things are moving in the right direction then all will be good. I fully understand it will take time, maybe the 2-3 years as suggested but we can't get relegated while waiting for this to happen. And I'm sure PL knows what we need but it's RL that worries me.
  18. Jim, sorry mate but you haven't given anyone below a 5 and some a 7, imo that's a crock. We didn't have a player at 5 let alone a 7. Ahmadi wasn't MOM for me as he had no penetration, was one paced and played nothing but tippy tappy football he really has to improve. Our passing game gave us a better possession stat than West Ham a whole 51% against a hoof ball team, big deal. Oz, I can only see it coming if we sign better players or revert to hoofing the ball again, sigh.
  19. He is NOT a winger. Never has been, never will be. His spot is in the middle, generally just behind the striker, with a license to roam and the engine to back that up. True but his touch on the ball was **** awful, he will get his chance though and everyone needs to understand it will take the new players time to settle. Maybe he was to nervous to just let it flow, sometimes you can try too hard. If Ireland plays like that again I wouldn't be surprised to see Holman given a chance in that position.

Hahaha almost 10k of post and I finally find myself in full agreement with CI I really hope our worries are put to rest this week with some new signings.

Without bringing in better players then I think its a possibility, that might sound negative even daft to some but we are so weak I just can't think of a team we can beat. It's early days and there is still enough time to sign the right players but is there money to spend? PL will have to be a miracle worker to make this squad of players finish in the top half, we will have more possession playing this way but if it's in our own half, back pass after back pass as it was yesterday then it's a useless stat. I guess on reflection maybe the defence was better than I expected and both Lowton and Vlaar did reasonably well but I thought KEA, N'Zogbia, Ireland and Holman we utter shite. Bent was AWOL but with that midfield without any width or through balls what chance does he have. The only player in the middle how seemed to want to go forward was Delph, he was just about acceptable. None of the subs got into the game. This could be dismissed as "just on of those days" but we have seen this for far to long now and if PL, RL thinks buying players from the Dutch league and from the lower divisions while mixing them with our home grown players is a recipe for success then they are deluded. It will get us relegated.
  22. I know it's early days but that was the worst performance (not scoreline) on an opening day that I can recall since I begun watching in the mid 70's. Big statement I know but the team was so weak all over the pitch that it's difficult to see who or what was the real issue. We were okay at the back but that may say more about how shit West Ham are than anything else. Midfield we were a bad joke, not one of them was any good. KEA was utter rubbish and Delph seemed to want to copy him, sorry but if all you want to do is make a move forward and pass the ball square or back then they achieved what they set out to do. If the instruction was to keep the ball and play little through balls to move the opposition around well after it took WH 15-20mins to work out what our A plan was it failed. Ireland wasn't interested, Holman looks like he can't kick a ball and the useless Nzobia is well useless. Gardner must be a thick as his brother as it took him 10 mins when he came on to realise that it wasn't us wearing the C&B shirts, I swear the 1st 5 passes he made went straight to WH players and non of them were difficult or rushed passes. There are more things about the players I could write but what's the point we can all see what is in front of us. PL also needs to look at our tempo as at no point of the game did we try to step it up, WH wont have an easier game all season. It's only the 1st game but after the last 2 seasons, it's still the same shite minus the hoof ball.
  23. Randy is at today's game I wonder if he's has or is going to meet up with Spurs or talk with Defoe, probably not but at least he will see 1st hand what the team is lacking today and hopefully act.
  24. I might be proved wrong Sonic but I don't think we are that bad, guess we will soon find out! Come on Villa, The Paul Lambert era is about to get going for real!
