  1. Never had a problem with them, decent club. I do think MON will be their next manager though!
  2. He was better yesterday. But just wish he'd shoot quicker instead of trying to go past 2-3 defenders all the time. He'll come good though I'm sure of it.
  3. Cabaye would've been Petrov's replacement I reckon and from what he's shown so far at Newcastle, a very good replacement. Weren't we in for Gago from Real Madrid aswell? I wanted Houllier gone at the end of the season and it's a pointless debate as his health didn't allow him to continue but when I wanted him out, I really didn't expect we'd wind up with McDraw.
  4. Pav is such a flaky footballer though. Some games it seems like he's barely on the pitch. The truth is we signed Bent at the wrong time. In the MON team of 2009 when we were playing 4-4-2 and Young and Milner were the wide players and whipping crosses in, he'd have scored a hatful, Im amazed MON never went for him as I reckon we could've got 4th in 09-10 with a little more firepower. Easy to say it now but given Downing was a) injured until Xmas and fecked off when the going got tough, we shouldn't have signed him and should've put that 12m plus a little more to match Sunderland's bid at the time.
  5. Basically Jenas was Makoun's replacement in the squad and look how that is turning out!
  6. He played most of pre season. Really surprised we let him go, he showed some potential and I just thought it was a case of someone from a foreign league taking 6 months or so to get used to the pace.
  7. I thought Bruges were decent, didn;t they beat Braga away in their last game? WTF are they doing losing to that shower?!
  8. Mellberg ahead of Dunne aswell, maybe Bouma in there aswell. I still maintain if we'd signed Bent anytime from 2007- January 2010 we would've finished in the top 4 with the production from the midfield we had at the time.
  9. Makoun would've been no worse than Delph has been since August if he'd have stayed.
  10. We conceded 4 at Man. City with Collins in the team last season...
  11. Strange, WM said Wolves were in the game for most of it and had some good chances. Not sure why it's fallen apart so quickly there after a promising start to the season, mick messing around with the team again?
  12. Every side we're competing with this season will lose at Man. City. Let's see the response against the Baggies.
  13. One of the Everton goals was a penalty...
  14. The results haven't been that different without him. With him playing we drew 0-0 at home to Wolves and at Fulham. Without him we drew 1-1 at Qpr and Newcastle. Madness if we give him a new deal imo given he's in his 30s, is injury prone and isn't a first choice in his position.
  15. Talk of Heskey getting a new deal... Now an often injured player, in his 30s, on 60k a week and not a first choice in his position would seem a likely player to be released in the summer surely. Just letting go of him, Beye and Carlos in the summer would shave around 6m off the wage bill.
  16. No doubt Collins will be injured at some point this season. Clark will get his chance then.
  17. What, that he has an hamstring injury? He wasn't injured for the Wigan game and he didn't make the bench for that, Weimann did. I think the Fonz will be sold in the summer tbh.
  18. Comfortable progression for Ireland here. Score draw in Tallinn and 2-0 win at the Aviva.
  19. Yes as they can't play the Czech's. :winkold: Walters has been excellent for Stoke in the last 6 months, surprised he isn't starting with Keane.
  20. Venezuela are one of the most improved teams in international football.
  21. Tremendous goalscorer but it is true to say his hold up play is flakey and he dosen't win a huge amount of headers so it might help to stop hoofing the ball...
  22. Serious question though, where are all the good young players for Sweden, Mellberg's still playing for them aswell. Only decent one looking at that team is Olsson from Blackburn.
  23. That was our B team with a couple of regulars like Cech and we dominated. Czechs are very underrated and we will do well. Lithuania beat you at home earlier in the group.. You were lucky with the penalty at Hampden and Levein completely bottling attacking you in Prague. The last decent Czech team was in 2004 when Rosicky and Baros were younger than much better than the broken versions we have now and Nedved, Poborsky and Koller were all still around. Arguably should've won that tournament.
  24. Can't believe Sweden are beating Holland and are currently going through as the best 2nd place team, will add nothing to the euros as Anders Svensson is their captain who must be about 50 nowadays. Hopefully Bosnia can hang on in the 2nd half against France.
