  1. True but I was just making the point how you can lose rather than draw and still get more points over a 5 game period. We're back to the JG days of drawing half our games during the season and not getting anywhere in the end. **** the unbeaten run, we need wins.
  2. Ahhh... but he was moving at least! Thats an improvement on Heskey already! The Fonz played his part in the goal if you watch it back, nice direct run forward and then pass to Young and I thought he was bright for the rest of the first half. Second half yeah he faded. Sunderland's CBs got tighter to him and he hasn't got the strength just yet or the intelligence that he'll get from playing more games of when to hold up and release the ball.
  3. Spot on. West Ham- DRAW Arsenal- DRAW Manure- DRAW Wolves- DRAW Sunderland- DRAW West Ham- WIN Arsenal- LOSE Manure- LOSE Wolves- WIN Sunderland- WIN The bottom sequence gains you four more points over a season. We're back to what we were under Gregory, content to draw half our games during a season as it looks good to see we have a ten or so game unbeaten run, it ultimately gets you nowhere if you don't win enough games. One home win since December. Not good enough, the same thing happened in the second half of last season if you check back. We're a very good away team but at home we produce too many mediocre results over a season.
  4. Fed up of another draw, fed up of no Clinical finishing, Collins free header at 0-0, somehow puts it wide and two minutes later we're 1-0 down. Carew in the second half, free header from a corner he has to score that. How many chances have we wasted over the last two home games? The opposition have had between them probably 4 chances and scored 3 goals and left with a draw each. Not good enough. General play was o.k, Young was excellent and we showed good spirit to get it back to 1-1 quickly. But it was a game we had to win and we failed. We just lack the ruthlessness to get the win to me when it matters, until we gain that mentality we won't finish top 4 or win a trophy I fear. Yet again the thousands leaving VP from 80 + minutes didn't miss a crucial goal, they're right more times than the team are.
  5. Absolutely!!! I think we can lose at Chelsea and still get 4th. If we lose tonight, we will be struggling. Correct, we have to win tonight really so Milner has to be risked.
  6. Looking more and more like a draw really. Sunderland will come and play 4-5-1 I think.
  7. Bent will play. Ken Jones probably won't. So I assume from that Sunderland will play 4-5-1 and outnumber us in the middle just like Wolves did. Great.
  8. I would've passed on Bellamy when he was at West Ham as he wasn't doing much there and was frequently injured. However he's been brilliant at City and has slotted in well on the left of their 4-3-3 aswell as upfront. I'd be happy with him and Ireland but can see both sticking around at City if they get top 4.
  9. Is Arsenal still being played on easter Monday? Will pop down to that one.
  10. Spurs sold Keane and Berbatov to teams above them.
  11. Carew will probably leave so we'd go into next season with three strikers.
  12. Yes granted, we should still beat them though. Yeah we should. I never feel nervous we're going to lose when we play black country teams tbh.
  13. Wolves are much better than some of the other dross down there.
  14. 2-0. Gabby and bigger than me and you with the goals as I reckon he'll be up for this one.
  15. 1-1 with us conceding a goal late in and a sort of league season ending feel on here afterwards.
  16. I quite like the throw ins tbh, Infact I've been to see Stoke 13 or 14 times in the three years I've been up here for Uni and today was the first 0-0 I've seen. I think it's a bit silly to criticise Delap when it seems we've spent all week working on Carlos throwing the ball long which was a complete and utter waste of time as all the time Faye, Higgy and Huth just headed it away. Surely we should've done what we normally do and do a short throw in allowing Young and Downing to cross the ball into the box.
  17. The Fonz was warming up intensly in the second half so I thought he was coming on. I do think MON should've gambled on him more in prem games, Manure did with Macheda at the back end of last season and it won them points. Today was the first time I've actually seen a 0-0 at the Britannia and I've been 13 or 14 times in the 3 years I've been here going to Uni.
  18. It was Collins sort of game really, heading out and blocking clearences. Thought Dunney headed more away so would give him MOTM.
  19. Shock, horror I think MON may shake it up a bit (and not just Gabby coming in). Wouldn't surprise me if Downing is rested. 1-1 and us to concede a late goal.
  20. Arsenal was in the cup and last season was when they turn Arsenal over. It's an o.k point if we want to finish top 6 but we really need a win today to give us a great chance of top 4. Just not enough quality going forward in the team really.
  21. I despair at the "football" we try to play sometimes, Stoke were outfootballing us at times in the first half which shows the sorry state of things. It's an o.k point if you want to finish top 6, but no to finish top 4 we need more than a 12 man squad. Downing was terrible today, too slow to get crosses in and was wimping out of loads of challenges. How about taking him off and putting Delph on at least. Or we need another wide player to add competition there. Heskey. Well I'm not going to say anything. Defence was outstanding but again why was out sole tactic at thrown-ins for Carlos to just throw it in long especially when you have man moutains like Faye and Huth to head it away in there. How about playing it short and trying to get some free kicks or crosses in from near the box.
  22. Isn't it still Spurs finishing just top 6 twice in the last twenty years? We've finished top 6 loads more times in that era. We've won two league cups aswell and lost a final to Manure so equal on that.
  23. I would imagine Stoke will line up: Sorensen Wilko Huth Faye Higgy/Collins Lawrence Whitehead Delap Pugh Sidibe Fuller Subs: Begovic, Kitson, Tuncay, Etherington Am Faye, Collins, Davies. Playing Burnley away so might lose a few more to injury.
