  1. Are we not appealing the Warnock booking then?
  2. Villareal in much better health now. Unlike Atletico.
  3. I think Beye may start on wednesday as he has games under his belt this season while Young still hasn't played a minute of competitive football. If Petrov can't make wednesday, I'd expect NRC to come back in.
  4. Benitez was quite good I thought but exactly what I thought SHA were getting. Busy player who will stretch defences but wank finisher. I just don't get Cameron Jerome, terrible when in possession of the ball and dosen't score many goals, what is he good at?
  5. Won't we appeal Warnock's yellow on grounds of mistaken identity? Mind you Petrov will then be on 4 yellows...
  6. Everton fans probably have an even limited range of songs than we do!
  7. Saha seems like he's been around and injured forever. Very good striker on his day though.
  8. Piennar and Osman are both underrated imo although I take your point Trent they both prefer to cut inside. Happy both are missing tbh.
  9. Very little width in that team, Cahill on the right of midfield, oh dear will struggle to time his runs into the box and our left side can exploit that.
  10. Everton playing poorly, loads of injuries, conceding basic goals and we have a good recent league record at Goodison so all points to a..................................2-1 defeat. Got a bad feeling about this one for some reason, would be quite happy to take a point from this one and then look to win at West Ham and home to Bolton.
  11. Paraguyan captain they signed in the summer, think he'll be playing at RB. Happy enough with the team, now let's beat em.
  12. AG, has Moyes informed you yet whether you'll be getting a game at Spurs tommorrow? :winkold:
  13. Everton are conceding some terrible goals at the minute really lack a number one centre half who can just head balls away all day long as Distin certainly isn't that type of centre half. Moyes missed a trick by not insisting on getting Dunne back in a swop for Lescott until Jagielka comes back.
  14. I fear they'll beat us next week aswell despite our recent good record at Goodison. The bench they had today was incredible. Can't see Moyes putting out a competitive side at Spurs in the cup in mid week tbh.
  15. But Spurs drew at Bolton recently and lost today at home to Stoke while City drew at Wigan so I do think it's knee jerk to just say becasue we can't win anyway at Wolves we won't finish in the top 6 as these sorts of results do actually happen to other teams. We'll still get 60 + points this season but this time more home wins than away.
  16. Nah. Wolves are decent going forward and I think they'll finish higher than SHA, Hull and Pompey to name three by the end of the season. Tbh today wasn't much different in how we play at SHA but we couldn't nick the win to mask over another poor performance. Disappointing but Stoke winning at Spurs shows how competitive the league is at the minute, we'll still be in the mix for top 6 throughout the season. Defence came back well after looking shaky in the first 15 minutes and while it's incredibly frustrating watch Carew and Young at the moment, at least Gabby is looking like this will be the season he gets close to 20 league goals. Big problem is Petrov's partner. We badly need a creative player alongside him. Sidwell just isn't good enough although this record we have of hardly ever losing when he plays is incredible. Given I expect NRC to go in January, we'll need another central midfielder in the squad. I pray MON dosen't go for just a squad player or another runner, we badly needed someone who can pick a pass and slow the game down on occasions. Petrov can do it but not all the time.
  17. I think this will be a good game for Carew, expect him to score today.
  18. WOLVES: Hennessey, Zubar, Craddock, Berra, Elokobi, Kightly, Henry, Castillo, Edwards, Doyle, Ebanks-Blake. SUBS: Hahnemann, Stearman, Milijaš, Halford, Jarvis, Keogh, Iwelumo. VILLA: Friedel, Sidwell, Dunne, Young, Milner, Carew, Agbonlahor, Petrov, Cuellar, Collins, Warnock. SUBS: Guzan, L. Young, Delph, Heskey, Reo-Coker, Gardner, Clark. Same 11 for us although Clark and Gardner in on the bench for Shorey and whoever else was on the bench against Chelsea. Halford on the bench for Wolves so we won't be facing a barrage of long throws.
  19. Even better, it could well be Craddock and Berra with Zubar at RB.
  20. Wolves are 11/5 at most bookies for anyone looking at an insurance bet just in case the worst happens...
  21. Always feel confident going into matches against Black country teams really as we never lose to them. I think Wolves will play 4-4-2 and have a go at us which should help us. They'll pick two from Mancienne, Craddock and Berra as their CBs, hopefully Craddock who has no pace and Berra who Carew ripped to shreds playing against Scotland a few months ago. 0-2 us with Carew scoring.
  22. End of the day, at the start of the season how many people realistically expected a top 4 challenge given we'd just lost Laursen and Barry, PB as an example of a good contributor to this site didn't, I didn't. I would've been happy with 7th especially after the Wigan debacle. So far the only black mark against MON this season is the europa league exit, we're still in the carling cup and we're nicely placed in the league and the reshaping of the team has been very good tbf to him so far so I'm still happy to give him this season and the start of next before giving a proper assessment.
  23. Well player Stan, I think he's enjoyed the added responsibility in central midfield vacated by Barry tbh. What I like is that he rarely loses the ball and will also slow the pace of the game down when in possession, similar to what Alonso did for Liverpool.
