  1. Whilst I agree in the overall view, in THIS case, I think Emi deserves any criticism. I love the guy, and I wish he stays with us forever, and I think he’s hilarious. BUT… this Mbappe business lacks class no matter what angle you throw on it - and any subsequent criticism is fair game.
  2. The bizarre thing is that it was US (the British) that went to the majority of these countries and INTRODUCED the bloody laws against homosexuality in the first damn place! Two Argentinian women took off their tops in the stadium. In Qatari law they could be prosecuted for indecency. The west celebrated it. Put them on the cover of newspapers. Basically made them famous, and rich. Encouraging all women around the world to ‘get their tits out for the lads’. You do that and we’ll make you famous, and rich! But it’s the Qataris that don’t respect women. It’s the Qataris that treat women as objects. We know how to treat women right. We idolise them. So long as they get their tits out. There were probably 30,000 women at the final? The two that I remember are the ones with their tits out. We’re a proper advanced society for sure. Well done us! Should’ve been jailed if you ask me.
  3. Did I say that it doesn’t happen? No Bobzy, no I didn’t. I suggest you learn to read. This is the problem with a few of you posters here. You just don’t seem to grasp basic points. At no point did I say the persecution of homosexuals does not occur. At no point did I say that this persecution is ‘ok’ The point I made was that a few posters here seem to just focus solely on this ONE issue and refuse to acknowledge ANY positives from the World Cup. Their constant comments describing the Middle East as ‘backwards’ has racist undertones that make their prejudice no better than the Qataris. The Americans allow children as young as 10 get married to older men. I’ve pointed this out several times, but you ignore it. No outrage, nothing. Just ignore it. Why? Well, I wonder if it’s because one set of people are white skinned cousins, and the other are dark skinned ‘backwards filth’ Not one of you will criticise the states. Not one of you will have reservations about watching the next World Cup. Not one of you will post the criticism again and again and again. What about these children that are being legally f*cked in the states? Do THEY not have a ‘right to exist’? Should we boycott the next World Cup until the states change their law to something not so backward? But you guys couldn’t give two shits about that. Maybe because they’re white? I don’t know, I can’t possibly know what goes on in your heads. Now you’ll all get together and try to make me out to be some kind of pantomime villain, but AT NO POINT DID I EVER CONDONE THE QATARIS TREATMENT OF THE LBGT COMMUNITY. You saying that I deny it happens is a lie - probably for effect to try to undermine my points. Is it wrong of me to suggest that you guys are equally vocal about the legal paedophilia in the states? Is it wrong of me to ask that at least you acknowledge some of the positives gained from this World Cup? As I wrote before, focusing SOLELY on negative aspects is by definition prejudice. And a few posters here have repeatedly stated that the World Cup should never again be awarded to certain countries. Well, it seems you’re perfectly happy to let old men marry girls as young as 10 - so long as it’s a ‘white law’ MY summary: There were some really really good aspects to this World Cup, and it was a great success. The Qataris need to 100000000% stop persecuting homosexuals. The Americans should be ashamed of their backwards laws and should: 1) End child marriage 2) change their gun laws I don’t believe that we should stop them holding a World Cup because of that though. I can say all of that, because I’m not prejudiced. Let’s hear that from some of you (won’t hold my breath)
  4. Utter hyperbole. yet more cliche tripe that you heard somewhere being regurgitated. This right here is what really winds me up. Exaggerating things damages the cause. It is NOT illegal to exist. It is illegal to perform homosexual acts. There is a huge difference, and you claiming it’s one and the same doesn’t help. if you stuck to the completely valid point that people should be allowed to be who they wish to be and do what they wish to do without risk of prosecution or persecution , you’d get a lot of respect and total agreement from me. If you’re going to add a healthy dose of hyperbole then I’ll call you out on your exaggeration.
  5. I absolutely agree that it was handled in a corrupt way. It really isn’t my point. There’s a lot of bad taste around the whole thing, and it’s not my desire to champion the Qataris as some kind of amazing people. My main issue here is the overt prejudice on display under the guise of championing inclusion. It’s so hypocritical it’s unreal. Part of the definition of prejudice is to ignore positives and to focus on negatives to try to confirm a certain narrative, and I have seen it time and time again from certain posters. Some people will refuse to acknowledge ANY positives. There isn’t a country on earth without issues. The real corruption here is that the Qataris needed to pay so much to get the World Cup in the first place. Without that they would never get the cup. Blatter gets dogs abuse for being corrupt. But let’s take a moment to think what would happen if there wasn’t the corrupt Avenue to get the biggest ticket in town. A select few countries would just take it in turns holding the tournament - claiming that only they had the infrastructure and experience to be able to hold such a tournament. it would be the Big 6 Mafia all over again but on an international scale where they split the pie into large pieces and let everyone else have the crumbs. The media and tabloids have done their very best to undermine the tournament from the very offset because they hate that the Qataris got it. They hate the fact that it was a success. And you have people like certain posters who regurgitate their agenda repeatedly. I bet those most vocal against the hosts have never even been to the Middle East - and the limit of their knowledge comes from the Daily Mail. It’s hard to take people seriously when there is no balance to their views. No one was arrested for being homosexual. They even said everyone is welcome, just be respectful. Basically don’t be lewd, and you have nothing to worry about. Homo OR hetero. Yet… non stop throughout the whole tournament everything just returned to the same point again and again and again.
  6. Number of people arrested for being homosexual at this World Cup : 0 number of posts by you moaning about qatar holding the World Cup: 23,454,565,565,543,676,325.
  7. When are you going to give this a rest? Non stop bleating about this. When are we going to hear your criticism about the next World Cup being held in a country that allows legal marriage between 70 year old men and 10 year old girls? Or does legal paedophilia not warrant your constant moaning? Or maybe for you mainly white societies are allowed to do what they want without criticism.
  8. Who’s no 16?
  9. Unfortunately, not. plenty of other angles showing it clearly… https://www.football-espana.net/2022/12/20/emiliano-martinez-continues-mocking-of-kylian-mbappe-at-parade/amp
  10. Aston Villa Football Club need this to work as much as the player himself. We need to be seen as a club where stars can resurrect their careers, not as a club for them to absolutely be finished off. Gotta give him a chance, and I would be delighted if he manages to turn this around.
  11. Yh I wish this World Cup had drunks running around smashing up the city, and shameless people pissing and **** in the streets. It’s really not a good World Cup without that stuff. Need to sort out their laws over there before they’re allowed to host any events ever again. And as for not charging their citizens income tax? What the **** us that about? Backwards scum that wash their arses after taking a shit. I mean what the **** is wrong with smearing it around with some tissue like we do over here? I’m totally with you on this one.
  12. World Cup winning goalkeeper with penalty heroics? £150m. Thank you very much.
  13. If he didn’t pick morocco through genuine love for his country and an affinity that he feels with his heart, then he has no one to blame but himself I love the guy, but there is no worse feeling than being the person missing out with your spot being given to someone else - who didn’t really want it. So a big no from me. Of all the crap excuses that Southgate was coming out with why not to pick Grealish, the one excuse that held any water with me was that he had picked Ireland first. But of course he couldn’t use that because of the Rice issue.
  14. If Morocco beat france.. I’ll be rooting for morocco - that’s something way bigger than messi for me. if france win, I hope Emi saves 6 penalties and Messi scores a hat-trick and Argentina win 6-0
  15. I don’t think anyone has said he’s not good enough for villa. The general consensus is: 1) he just would not come here. 2) even if he would we would be wiser spending that money elsewhere. We’re not in the position to be buying expensive flops. We need to be getting in there before the mega money moves. We need to be on THIS side of the Grealish transfers, not the other. Teams like Man U and Man City might be able to absorb the Sancho/Grealish level failures, but we simply cannot afford an expensive flop. There’s not a realistic poster on this board who would say he’s not good enough for us. He’s way too good for us. But one man does not a team make, and if that one man throws a strop, we’re done for. Let’s go get 2 top class prospects for that money, and sell THEM to Atletico for €120m in a year or two. That’s our place in the current food chain.
  16. As much as I can’t stand Southgate, he didn’t take us backwards 2 years in 1 year, and he doesn’t act like he’s some Demi-god because of his playing ability. He’s a clearing in the woods, but he’s a humble clearing in the woods. Southgate wins, no contest.
  17. I have pictures of myself and my young daughter swimming with dolphins at the Atlantis in dubai. At the time I thought it was an amazing experience and would have recommended it to anyone. Not long after I watched the documentary ’Black Fish’, and I felt awful, and I promised myself I wouldn’t do anything to promote this kind of captivity again. I would’ve been older than these guys, yet equally naive. The saddest part here is that these guys could easily afford to go see these animals in a much more ethical way. Im glad that their errors have been highlighted to them, because sometimes it’s only through making mistakes that our eyes are opened by those around us.
  18. Actually it’s like buying the hottest girl in the club drinks all night, and then feeling used when she inevitably leaves with someone that isn’t short fat and ugly. Sometimes you’re better off not making yourself look like a tit.
  19. The dude cost €127m. Is reportedly on €260,000 per week. IF he came to villa, we would need to offer him something our competitors can not. We’re not in London, Not in the champions league and not even in the Big 6. ALL we have to offer is more money than what someone else might offer him. Even if I had never seen him play, that right there is enough information to tell me it’s a bad idea for us, and for him. If he’s a success, he will bitch and moan his way into leaving. If he’s a failure it could bankrupt us. I would be delighted if we pulled it off, and would buy a Félix shirt the same day. But that wouldn’t make it a sound business decision.
  20. Over rated. Rather have one of those Moroccans that made him look completely ordinary for about 1/50th of the cost. My real point is that there’s probably about 100 players like him out there that will be considered better than him in a year or two.
  21. Honestly don’t care. Dont even think he’s done a bad job. (Changed from particularly shit) But I can’t stand him for purely villa reasons. I put a huge chunk of the blame squarely at his feet for Grealish’s departure. Be it true or not. He feeds the ‘Big 6’ machine. His selection tactics promote player hoarding. Players that aren’t playing for the clubs should be encouraged to move and play - but this asshole promoted players to swap starring roles playing week in week out to sitting on ‘Big 6’ benches. He bullshits because he doesn’t have the balls to say the truth. I’d have a lot more respect for him if he had just said ‘Grealish is not the kind of player that fits my system’ rather than come out with all the hypocritical crap about not having premier league experience - when he actually had - but proceed to pick Philips from the championship! Utter prick. I want him gone.
  22. Obviously. I don’t recall anyone asking you to change your mind. Have your opinion, print it on a T-shirt, and wear it proudly my friend! But don’t be surprised if people look at you as though you’re a little odd.
  23. Some utter nonsense being spouted here. Stinks of the same vibes as the press here where you can’t possibly be a good player unless you play for the big 6. How about you use your eyes instead?
