  1. I 1000% agree. It is surprising how thick your average person is.
  2. My maths was clearly shit. 20 premier league games left, of which he is banned for 3. He’s played 1/2, so 17.5 games. They reckon the package is worth £15m for fees and wages. So about £620k per pl match, and £860k fee+wages per match.
  3. 18 games remaining, 3 he’s banned for. 15.5 games max 11,000,000 / 15.5 = £710,000 per PL match IF he plays every match from now. God Chelsea ‘is’ dumb
  4. Nope. from the FA guidance for players booklet 2022-2023, page 9 https://www.thefa.com/-/media/files/thefaportal/governance-docs/player-essentials/2022-23/essential-information-for-players-2022-23-english.ashx ‘Serious foul play’ is the best description for this scenario.

It’s all ffp scamming bullshit. Players amortised over the length of their contract, big clubs doing each other favours. we should start signing players on 100 year contracts. That way we can say a £100m player is only costing us £1m per year. Pay the player a normal wage for the first 5 years then £1000 per week for the remaining 95 years. Have a contract termination clause to allow us or the player to end it any time after 8 years. Get 25 of these players and win a bunch of stuff all within FFP rules. yh, give me Purslow’s job.
  6. I believe I agree with everything you said except the part between ‘think’ and ‘sure’. But I could change my mind, although I haven’t decided yet.
  7. This. As much as I hoped he’d get a chance, I don’t think it’s gonna happen. Even if he is better than the starters, he’s not going to be much of an upgrade. We need to be looking for bigger upgrades. Get a fee and move him on.
  8. Why is this thread still here?
  9. He’s a quality player. He was quality at Arsenal too. Get him in.
  10. Brilliant player Remember thinking should’ve bought him when he was being bombed out at Arsenal

You’re right of course, but the problem is the Lerner effect. What happens when a sugar-daddy gets bored of trying to compete? It leaves a club in a position where it needs bailing out. When NSWE bought us, there was still a chance of competing. Now it seems the Arab royalty have decided to have a dick-swinging contest, there’s no hope. If I read it right, the Qataris are about to join in on the fun by bankrolling **** spurs of all the shitty clubs to choose. If we just let them have a free for all, the spectacle as we know it is over. There needs to be a ceiling, but FFP as it stands is a farce, it’s unfair by design. Set the same budget for every club. Creative accounting, bullshit sponsors etc should make ZERO difference. Or we kiss the game goodbye. There’s about to be 3 whales in the swimming pool.

I hope that was tongue firmly in cheek.

Yh my point exactly. Game needs fixing. Up until now, no one wanted to fix it. Now that there’s a shark in goldfish bowl, maybe there’s no option BUT to fix it. Every club should have the same annual budget for players and wages. Spend it how you see fit. Ultimately it’s the fans that pay for spiralling costs of wages and transfer fees. So get it under control now. If the annual budget for wages was £50m, it would end the player/agent greed. There needs to be a limit on squad sizes to stop player hoarding.

There’s always been rich clubs winning everything. The sky 6 have had it all their own way for so long that they have become a little bit too entitled. There needed to be a power shift, and hopefully now that they start to realise that there’s a table even above their own, maybe, just maybe, they’ll be incentivised to fix the bloody game.

They probably are. Just like Juve and Barcelona et al. Will find out in about 7 years time. The problem is that they might have moved on to a Super League by then, and nobody will be able to do anything worthwhile about it. My overwhelming hope is that this whole thing falls flat on its face and they go bankrupt with a bunch of expensive players that they have to sell off cheap.

Depends of how you define world class. ‘Amongst the best in the world at what they do’ is what I would say. I’d say that if you picked a World 11 A to play a World 11 B, and a player could be realistically picked for either team - then they’re world class. So probably in the region of the top 5 - 10 in each position. What you’re referring to as ‘world class’ I would define as ‘the best in the world’ (ie top 1-2 positions) I’m not saying I’m right and you’re wrong. Just my personal interpretation.
  17. Can’t argue with that to be fair.

Again, not being a dick because our first team wins that - you’re right. But that team should have cakewalked that considering the opposition. No one could have predicted that we would have lost that. I was genuinely more upset with the league cup team he picked against United as I thought they were there for the taking. He 100% should not have to explain why a bunch of internationals could not win that game.
  19. I know what you mean, and I’m not trying to be a dick, rather I think I’m trying to comfort myself when I ask… How much chance did we actually have though? (I concede the answer ‘is infinitely more than 0’)

I think you’re right. But I’m not concerned, as I’m sure he’ll figure it out.
  21. Shit result goes without saying. Am I upset that we’re out? Of course is it embarrassing? Of course Were we realistically going to win it? No Shit happens, not the worst thing that could possibly have happened. Let’s move on. Like the man said, it’s a process. Let him proceed without piling pressure on.
  22. Yh, because him bossing it against Stevenage will get all the clubs interested…

Don’t forget my fee. I’ll be acting as your agent to facilitate this deal.
  24. Before I read this, I watched Buendia highlights because I thought exactly the same thing! And I have to say, the Buendia highlights from his Norwich days are far more impressive. Not to say I’d be against this signing at all though, sign him up!
