  1. Before this season I’ve always felt that Maguire was a very good CB that got some unfair criticism, but he’s been really poor this year. On topic, Mings is just going through a poor spell for me and talk of selling him is laughable.
  2. I think it will if Sanson can stay fit for a prolonged period.
  3. I personally think the big issues with the current lineup are the formation and the Watkins/Ings ‘partnership’ which clearly isn’t working, and it seems from the outside looking in that it’s being persisted with simply because Dean is reluctant to ‘drop’ either. I feel that is also why Dean is persisting with 3-5-2 as a way of playing them both without weakening the midfield. Just my opinion though.
  4. Some very valid points there Trent, as usual. Perhaps more through optimism than anything else I’m holding onto the fact that we’ve not had a fully fit squad and that things will start to improve once we’ve got everyone available.
  5. I feel that LB is definitely an area that we need to look at bringing in another in the next 12 months for sure as Young is not a long term option and seems to be looking less and less effective with each appearance. I disagree with regards to Targett as a LB, where I think that he has been solid, however it’s his attacking play that does indeed let him down at times, or at the least it’s not a particular strength and if we persist with playing our fullbacks as wingbacks then we could do with another option. Im sure I’d read that we’d been linked with Hickey before, so I’m not sure if this story is just a rehash of the old interest or if it is genuine but he looks a decent prospect.
  6. It’s such a difficult decision. Ollie leads the press, but as you say he’s not re-producing last season’s form.
  7. This is the Leon Bailey thread. Can we get back on topic please….
  8. Hard to disagree with that unfortunately. Hopefully we can get our wide attacking players fit and get back to the 4-3-3/variations of 4-3-3 which we generally look a lot more solid when playing.
  9. I think that’s a very fair assessment. I think he does well as a second option in attack on the left, backing up the left attacker in a 4-3-3 and overlapping, but has definitely struggled at times as THE wide option on the left.
  10. I explained what I meant above, read the thread please before trying to call me out for something like that.
  11. Sorry, it wasn’t meant in any way against Keinan. More to do with the poster actually, I think he just likes going against the grain and was questioning his sincerity.
  12. Why is that very good news in your opinion?
  13. This is getting a bit like the Jack Grealish for England situation, it is possible to rate one without slating the others. In this particular case, isn’t it fair to say that both Dean and Potter are doing good jobs?
  14. FINALLY!! Something we can agree on.

Totally right and I think this gets overlooked. You can’t just expect these players to just get older by themselves, it takes a lot of work on the training ground.

My worry is that this loan has really put him back, and he’s going to come back younger than when he first went out on loan.
  17. Happy Dean Smith day everyone!!!!

Is there any need to disrespect Ipswich as a club?
  19. I cannot believe how many pages this thread is still accruing. I give about as much of a s*** about him these days as he gives about the Villa. Let him go lads!
  20. Maybe it’s just usual negative thinking on my part, but I’m quite nervous about Sunday. Perhaps it’s because I feel like if we can get 3 more points then a top 6 finish becomes a real possibility.
  21. Yeah but in fairness he was brought in on £50k p/w as our No1.
  22. Bang on Roma. There’s a big difference between looking at a game like Spurs away with the form they’re in and thinking that we have a great chance of picking up another 3 points, and being mad at not winning there. I hope we remember that on Sunday!
  23. I’m not debating that mate, it’s a definite red for me. I’m just saying Konsa got away with one the weekend before on Gray I think. Edit: Sorry, my original point was about why VAR did not get involved.
