  1. Fair enough. I’ve really grown to like him if I’m honest, I think he has done a good job in his time here.
  2. You’re right, he did absolutely nothing of note at Barnsley, in fact he did nothing!
  3. Good post @Tomaszk I’d say that’s where I’m at right now. I’d also like to see personnel changes when required as I think Dean is far too loyal to certain individuals whose performances don’t repay the faith the manager shows in them.
  4. Was a lovely finish, such a shame that his first goal came in that debacle.
  5. He’s looking every bit a £40 player!
  6. See this is the real concern for me, after the collapse last Saturday I feel we should’ve seen a reaction last night. Something is not right.
  7. I can understand that Dean is not the sort of manager to drag a player off after 25/30 minutes, it can do a lot of damage to a player’s confidence, but he had to switch the formation after 20 minutes whether that was pushing Cash into midfield and Konsa to RB or Tuanzebe into midfield until half time and then make the changes needed. Something is definitely not right, whether it’s the coaching changes or the new players but as mentioned in other posts 3 at the back isn’t working, the strike partnership isn’t working, Buendia looks well off the pace required. I just struggle to see where we are getting the next points from.
  8. That first 45 minutes was as bad as I’ve seen in a long, long time. I feel very sad tonight as I’ve got a horrible feeling where this is headed, we’ve had a terrible summer transfer window in the respect of bringing in players that have unbalanced the squad, and problems are being caused through playing certain players who are just not justifying their place in the team every week. The players in general are letting the manager down, but if I’m being honest with myself I don’t feel that Dean is doing enough to change things and I feel we are a few weeks away from it costing him his job.
  9. I think we will start the game with 3-5-2, and hopefully switch to 4-3-3 with Bailey and Traore coming on after 60/65 minutes assuming they are fit enough for that.
  10. Your only issue? Is this something you would like John to work on?
  11. I think @nick76 has got the right idea, this thread is so tiresome to read right now.
  12. In an ideal scenario, I’d rather not see us playing 3-5-2/5-3-2 tomorrow but the main thing for me is Dean getting a performance from the boys. I don’t think he’s got a fully fit squad to start from, but hopefully Bailey and Traoré will play some part.
  13. It’s nice to see this thread finding some ‘middle ground’. Im sure Dean will have the boys up for it on Friday night, if nothing more I think the players owe us a performance, and a 90+ minute one at that!
  14. You wonder if the distraction of playing slightly ’out of position’ due to the formation is causing the errors? I know it seems like basics, but perhaps it is having an effect on them.
  15. I know what you’re saying, maybe I’m being a bit harsh in that respect.
  16. I think only Tuanzebe gets a bit of a pass from a gelling POV, but as you rightly say the rest have played together as a unit for 12 months.

    Louie Barry

Perhaps he’s not impressed in training, or he’s not showing the attitude that they want. There could be any number of reasons that he’s not getting selected.
  18. I’m unsure if it’s the formation that has affected him, but I agree he’s seemed well off the pace. Its odd because it would’ve seemed unthinkable to be dropping Ollie, but on form you’ve got to go with Danny Ings if we revert to 4-3-3 with one ‘striker’. The biggest shock for me is that statistically he’s even pressing more than Ollie.
  19. Only my opinion, but I wouldn’t think that McPhee is concentrating too much on defending set pieces, to be honest that’s basics right? It seems that McPhee’s remit with the attacking set pieces is to come up with new ways to try and score goals from them. I know it’s getting boring now, but that on Saturday is on the players I’m afraid. It’s a basic skill of a top flight defender to defend from a set piece. You cannot blame coaching on failing to clear a ball.
  20. Perhaps Dean thought there was too much time left in the game to bring him off the bench last Saturday?
  21. The ironic thing is a lot of your posts have me asking myself that very question. Also I don’t think it’s right to confuse the owner’s expectations of our manager with your own.
  22. I know what you’re saying mate, everything about the game has changed.
