  1. If we win the second leg then nobody will care this was a non-event. Next week should be a cracker.
  2. In Unai we trust. The grand master of european ties.
  3. Well we haven't done a Brighton in the first leg and Emery must have thought a draw was on the cards given the line up. We should be strong favourites for the home tie. It would have been nice to blow them away in the first leg but football isn't as simple as that. We got to dig deep now for the next two games.
  4. Pre Heck announcement the redevelopment was supposed to take 2 years. And for the euros and stadium work is supposed to be finished at least one year before the tournament starts. Therefore in theory we have until May 2025 for a no/no-go situation.
  5. I think the rest of the western world hopes the republican party recovers their sanity to go back to being a centre right party again.
  6. I always feel that you need a good clean after coming back from Amsterdam.
  7. There is going to be a lot of sound and fury and it will be the most depressing US election campaign in history, but ultimately Trump will lose yet again to a doddery Biden. He has failed to win the popular vote in two elections and the midterms were dreadful for him. Plus the economy is doing ok. If Biden was 70 instead of 80 he would be creaming him. As usual, it will go down to about half a dozen swing states with about 500,000 voters deciding the future of Western democracy, so no pressure then. The alternative doesn't bear thinking about.
  8. Right after I got here I ordered some spaghetti with marinara sauce and I got egg noodles with ketchup.
  9. Wouldn't it be nice if the shirt, crest, and new sponsor were all announced by the end of the season, with shirts on sale by early summer? As far as I remember that has never happened at Villa, it's always late.
  10. Been a been a bit of a frustrating season for him. He really hasn't had the minutes with Watkins so important to the team and then being injured for the last two months. He has played less than full 2 games in minutes in the premier league this season and has still got two goals, but has only one goal since September in all competitions. The boro game was particularly disappointing as it was a rare start and he did very little. Stil he is only 20 and could play a cameo role for us in the run in.
  11. Just makes the whole thing a further utter irrelevance and the supposed sanctity of parliament is a myth. The reduction on nonprotected departments is insane. Local government will now have had a 20% reduction in spending this parliament alone and just yesterday the biggest council in the land has had to hack £300 million out of its budget. But its a labour council so it's all their fault. The usual screw you approach.
  12. That's helpful. Shall we not bother with the actual speech now as it is all relayed to the press 48 to 24 hours beforehand? They claim they are working to net zero and freeze fuel duty again while every other western European country are miles ahead of us in EV charging points. Public services are on their knees and they are planning yet another effective cut yet again. It's a total joke of a morally bankrupt government. In the name of god go.
  13. That is what is sooo frustrating at Villa. We have had this enormous area of land we own on-site just sitting there not making money for years. And in the meantime, comparable clubs to us have done far more difficult things such as buying land and redeveloping or building entirely new stadiums in the 25 years that we have just sat on our hands.
  14. Yes, if they aren't going to do anything with the North Stand at least in the short term they could remove some of the parking spaces and put up more pop up food and drinks facilities on match day, and move the parking to the new academy building,
  15. Wasn't the original plan 12 games? 8 is still far too many. In another 5 years it will go up to 10 no doubt.
  16. Need to give this a right good go in the first leg, regardless of Spurs at the weekend. It isn't a great Ajax side but they will have a full house and be up for it. I am hopeful that by actually playing one of the bigger sides it may help us as it could be a more of an open game and chance to go on the counter. Plus the short distance to Amsterdam will make it more like a standard away game for the players, when compared to going to a eastern European country with 2-3 hours of more flying and perhaps an extra hour time difference.
  17. I trust the owners, and hell even Heck, that they know what they are doing. Perhaps I should be more worried but I am halfway through a cheeky little biscuit beer so I am chill on this. We know the system is screwed against anyone breaking the top 6,, but we are going to give it a right good go. If the worst happens we get a fine and some points deduction which we can then appeal against and go again.
  18. Most bookies are saying November as that will get Richi his two years and he can kick off the campaign after the conference season. But others are saying he wants it earlier due to the US election may overshadow it. I doubt he wants to do a December election even though that is what happened in 2019. The latest will be January 2025. It would be great if this could all be wrapped up by May but he wants to play pretend prime minister for a bit longer before he gets his big tech move sorted out. The local elections in May will be terrible so he will probably want to wait a bit longer in the hope things may get better. They won't. He may then be under pressure to get it done and out of the way in early summer but I think most Tories will probably like to spend one more summer in recess at the public's expense, whilst looking for new jobs.
  19. I thought Potter was holding out for the England job with Southgate leaves we lose on penalties in the quarter-finals again.
  20. This is a rotting dead government, yet we could probably have another six to eight months of this. Sunak will want to make sure he gets two years in as a PM. Can't see May being called as a general election and no MP will want to skip the summer recess out campaigning. Then conference season.
  21. He just scored another one for DC united last month.
  22. A win is a wn but we need to tighten up the set pieces, it is becoming an annoying habit and gives me flashbacks of Lambert's first season of endless series of cornalties.
  23. Gabby hatrrick V city on the opening day of the 2008 09 prem season still stands out. When City were a nothing club and Gabby was one of the hottest young prospects in English football. Things then changed somewhat in the following years.
  24. Rudy Gestede would have scored that
