  1. That's helpful. Shall we not bother with the actual speech now as it is all relayed to the press 48 to 24 hours beforehand? They claim they are working to net zero and freeze fuel duty again while every other western European country are miles ahead of us in EV charging points. Public services are on their knees and they are planning yet another effective cut yet again. It's a total joke of a morally bankrupt government. In the name of god go.
  2. That is what is sooo frustrating at Villa. We have had this enormous area of land we own on-site just sitting there not making money for years. And in the meantime, comparable clubs to us have done far more difficult things such as buying land and redeveloping or building entirely new stadiums in the 25 years that we have just sat on our hands.
  3. Yes, if they aren't going to do anything with the North Stand at least in the short term they could remove some of the parking spaces and put up more pop up food and drinks facilities on match day, and move the parking to the new academy building,
  4. Wasn't the original plan 12 games? 8 is still far too many. In another 5 years it will go up to 10 no doubt.
  5. Need to give this a right good go in the first leg, regardless of Spurs at the weekend. It isn't a great Ajax side but they will have a full house and be up for it. I am hopeful that by actually playing one of the bigger sides it may help us as it could be a more of an open game and chance to go on the counter. Plus the short distance to Amsterdam will make it more like a standard away game for the players, when compared to going to a eastern European country with 2-3 hours of more flying and perhaps an extra hour time difference.
  6. I trust the owners, and hell even Heck, that they know what they are doing. Perhaps I should be more worried but I am halfway through a cheeky little biscuit beer so I am chill on this. We know the system is screwed against anyone breaking the top 6,, but we are going to give it a right good go. If the worst happens we get a fine and some points deduction which we can then appeal against and go again.
  7. Most bookies are saying November as that will get Richi his two years and he can kick off the campaign after the conference season. But others are saying he wants it earlier due to the US election may overshadow it. I doubt he wants to do a December election even though that is what happened in 2019. The latest will be January 2025. It would be great if this could all be wrapped up by May but he wants to play pretend prime minister for a bit longer before he gets his big tech move sorted out. The local elections in May will be terrible so he will probably want to wait a bit longer in the hope things may get better. They won't. He may then be under pressure to get it done and out of the way in early summer but I think most Tories will probably like to spend one more summer in recess at the public's expense, whilst looking for new jobs.
  8. I thought Potter was holding out for the England job with Southgate leaves we lose on penalties in the quarter-finals again.
  9. This is a rotting dead government, yet we could probably have another six to eight months of this. Sunak will want to make sure he gets two years in as a PM. Can't see May being called as a general election and no MP will want to skip the summer recess out campaigning. Then conference season.
  10. He just scored another one for DC united last month.
  11. A win is a wn but we need to tighten up the set pieces, it is becoming an annoying habit and gives me flashbacks of Lambert's first season of endless series of cornalties.
  12. Gabby hatrrick V city on the opening day of the 2008 09 prem season still stands out. When City were a nothing club and Gabby was one of the hottest young prospects in English football. Things then changed somewhat in the following years.
  13. Rudy Gestede would have scored that
  14. The one time you want City to win they are making a pigs ear of it.
  15. Notwithstanding his political views which are somewhat colourful, Galloway is a dreadful MP. I think the last time he was in the house he had one of the worst attendances on record. He clearly doesn't give two figs about his constituents, it is just one massive ego trip for him. Cynics would say join the club I suppose.
  16. Well at least they could try. None of the concourse areas have had any updates since they were built.
  17. That's a big if. What happens if we revert to the mean and become a mid table side again? Will all those fans keep on coming?
  18. Yes but this is the West Midlands, not West London. There is no way we could pay Chelsea prices.
  19. Pathetic. I honestly thought that with these owners it would be happening this time around. If they wait til 2029 that would mean an entirely new application, new consultation etc for exactly the same project. I am still very surprised they changed their minds so late into the project with no apparent alternative option. I mean they originally thought building a multi-use venue would be a good idea as well as an entirely new stand. And now they come from that to absolutely nothing instead. A couple of months on I am still saddened and baffled by this decision. It went through every stage from consultation, to application, to being a host for the euros, and the mayor pushing for Witton station to be redeveloped. If they think the North Stand is perfectly fine they should spend a match day in it to see what a 45 year old structure looks like.
  20. It's is all very mixed at Villa. On one hand on the pitch it's the best we have had in a generation. We building a new city academy and are investing in clubs all around the world to help produce some young talent. And yet everything else seems so piecemeal and on the cheap.
  21. You must be joking- there is no way our season ticket prices will be going down any time. With all of this work if capacity is lowered, that will result in more demand so they can put the prices up again. Heck talk of 45,000 is flimsy at best. No evidence at all on this.
  22. It is ridiculous that the club even wants to overhaul the club shop. It is not big enough nor fit for purpose. We were supposed to have a new one at first in the Villa Live venue, and then the new north stand. I fail to see how capacity can even be remotely increased following this seating bowl configuration. This will lead quite rightly to more disabled seating, and wrongly more corporate stuff. At this rate we will be going more towards 40,000 rather than 50,000. This looks like a perfunctory meeting which they are obliged to do, rather than anything constructive.
  23. This times ten. I think most supporters realise the direction of travel of the match day experience with cheese rooms imminent, but as you said taking away something free with your season ticket with basically no replacement plus the dreadful communication in the summer was a poor show by Villa.
  24. Easter eggs. The really small ones which you could practically breathe in used to be a quid each. Now they are a pound fifty in Tesco's. Nice little 50% price rise for a yearly product which people probably forget what the previous price point was.
