  1. So what is his status? fit? injured? suffering from a bizarre gardening accident?
  2. I dunno its about as exciting as our transfer thread at the moment.
  3. Are we going to bring in another coach or two to assist Smith?
  4. Don't buy a washer dryer. The dryer bit is useless unless you really like damp clothes.
  5. Wow that's hot. I went in October about 5 years and it was lovely. In the future August is just going to be uncomfortably hot for a lot of traditional summer resorts. Maybe the school hols will be adjusted to break up in September or something. Not planning to go abroad this year, surely 2022 is going to be a lot more normal. I hope.
  6. I will remember that when I am wading in knee deep melted polar ice cap.
  7. Having a kit home, away, and third kit every season doesn't exactly tie in with the wear clothes for longer to be environmentally sustainable trend does it?
  8. Not sure most clubs seem to be moving away from this. No doubt in the future we will be able to buy Villa non fungible tokens.
  9. Jack basically said the same thing last year. He will be off to Liverpool next season.
  10. He was the sort of player we needed at the time we signed. No nonsense, a good pro. Bruce really messed him about. Its a shame he never really good a decent move after Villa. I could see him as maybe a coach or manager in the future.
  11. Good luck to him. He can't have complaints at this time with Villa, he was given a chance in the team under Smith but he wasn't good enough. The play off game at Albion I think spelt the end of his time at Villa as Smith recalled a out of form and soon to be released Adomah back in the team for the Wembley final. He was given more of a chance than O'Hare imo. Side note about 5 years ago I was in Bratislava and watched a game in which the crowd was no more than about 500 and they are the biggest team in Slovakia. I think they have a new stadium now but Eastern European football is of a poor quality, as if you are any good you get sold to a western european team when you are about 19. Further side note Slovan Bratislavia was also managed by the late Dr Jo, so another Villa link. Fun fact Bratislavia and Vienna are the 2 nearest european capitals to each other. It means nothing to me.
  12. Well its one thing putting a bid in, its another actually signing the players for the "next level" Still remember the 90s when Doug apparently put bids in for Gascoigne and Juninho but no chance of them ever rocking up at B6.
  13. Have we been done like a kipper for both JWP and ESR by the agents so they can get a big fat new contract? Running out of options and time for the end of the window.
  14. Personally I want this deal to happen. We have no chance of ever catching City up. We have a chance of catching Spurs up.
  15. Its going to be annoying if come September Kane is still at Spurs having spent all summer moaning and whingeing for a move whereas Grealish kept quiet and we rolled over due to the release clause. We should have just done a 'gentleman's agreement' and then just ignore it like Levy. It is Kane's fault in signing a huge 6 year deal in 2018 and not having a release clause in it.
  16. It might be but then again it just keeps going. Arsenal being rubbish has become a thing now, like the AFTV rubbish. And its only reportable because of the Arsenal name/brand.
  17. When the latest turd-in-a-suit cabinet politician has dropped a clanger and goes to 10 Downing street and a media hack randomly shouts 'Minster are you going to resign'? Like they will stop and say 'Well yes of course would you like a exclusive interview'?
  18. Still have a huge transfer budget and salary structure even though they haven't qualified CL for years. They have a massive inbuilt advantage compared to us, Everton, West Ham, Leicester etc.
  19. Its like DOL when he was at Villa always refencing Leeds. Honest bunch of lads.
  20. In between that we got relegated, spent 3 years in the second tier and nearly went into administration. In the meantime the 'big 6' have cemented their position at least in terms of revenue, overseas support, sponsorship and corporate deals. You can't tell me that we are closer to those teams now than in 2010 when Lerner turned the taps off and basically gave up.
  21. Because if you stand still you go backwards. For every season we can't reach the top teams they will be even harder to catch up.
  22. So the Birmingham Mail has spent all week liking us to players, now said we are 'done'. Its almost like they follow twitter feeds and then write a article.
  23. Is there any concrete evidence of things moving forward or are we just bored?
  24. A Smith sort of player. Neat, tidy. Probably helps old ladies across busy roads.
