Was hoping our midfield could win the battle in the middle tonight and so far I think we are. McGinn, Luiz and Nakamba doing well so far.

I predicted something very close earlier this week. Just Nakamba and Coutinho in for Chambers and Buendia. Hopefully we can win the midfield battle this evening.

Three home games in nine days, starting Tuesday evening. It’ll be a real tough one, but every side is beatable. Under the lights and a sell out crowd, we’ll give them a good game. Changes in these three home games will need to be made, but I’d start the same side on Tuesday as the one that started yesterday. It worked and I think it could suit us for this game especially. Konsa needs a good game and fingers crossed he has one. Leaving Coutinho on the bench against his old club would be a big call, but the right one to start the game I reckon. Gerrard even used his subs well yesterday and will be crucial again here. It’s been like this for years, especially since everything was revamped for TV and corporate. FA Cup Final is no different.

Had a really good day today. Drove down to Villa Park earlier today and bought the away shirt for myself (£15.00) and two away shirts for the kids (£13.50 each). Taking both the kids to the game tomorrow and my daughter (age 7) is like a bottle of pop ready to explode. She’s so excited, as never been to a game before and she couldn’t believe the size of Villa Park. I’ll have her hooked tomorrow ready for next season. My lad (age 10) barely looked passed his Nintendo Switch but I’m sure he’ll enjoy himself tomorrow.

Dare I say this, but he seems really focussed and is cutting out the silly mistakes. Probably the best and most consistent English centre half in the country right now?
