Will be interesting. I'm not as negative to this appointment as most people are. I think this could really work for the short term. The Mourinho cycle usually ends after 3 seasons, but that why you need to be ruthless and know when to get rid. I think the Spurs squad really suits Mourinho and i can see this work and surprise a few people.

There is no way he is a defensive midfielder, he lacks the physicality. But i don't think he is a natural box to box midfielder either. Looks more like a deep lying playmaker. But a newly promoted side won't stack up with loads of possession so i quite frankly don't think he fits our system. He would look better at Man City.

2nd in his second season was a huge improvement since Fergie. And i don't see them getting anywhere close to 2nd in the years to come, do you? Before his 3rd season he cried out for some central defenders but didn't get it and rest is history. Defense is the most important part of any Mourinho team if it's lackluster he will fail.

If he is a false 9 then why the f*** did we buy him and play him like a lone striker? No shit sherlock he's been bad if he's not comfortable in the position. This just makes me more worried if true. I literally had no idea he was a false 9. If that is the case i've been highly unfair to him.

A lot of physique, power and also flair in that Spurs squad. Almost a perfect squad for a Mourinho team. I would feel concerned if i were a Man United or an Arsenal fan.

Non sense. He did very well in his first 2 seasons at United. Finishing 2nd with that squad was a sensational achievement. Good appointment by Spurs. As long as they sack him after the 2nd season, that's usually when the Jose cycle ends.

The formation isn't the issue. The fact that everyone in midfield is bombing forward except Nakamba is the issue. We leave ourselves extremely vulnerable to counter attacks.

I'd like to see a middle ground. Defensively so far this season has not been acceptable to me. We have to tighten up the defense and be tougher to play against. We certainly can't keep conceding 20+ shots every game. I remember the Brighton game and how easy it was for them to get past our midfield with 10 men! A real warning sign for me. Sheffield United got the balance right. They are very hard to break down but at the same time are creating plenty of chances. Currently we're basically a slightly better version of Norwich and i do fear for us this season if defensive organization don't improve.

We should get rid. He'll never be good enough. Not a kid anymore.

We are too lightweight in midfield. We certainly need to add more steel. Nakamba is fine. But Hourihane/Luiz/Lansbury/McGinn doesn't work. They are all too physically weak. Much too easy to get past our midfield.

Hate Monday night games when Villa are involved. Got the potential to ruin my entire week.

Man Utd is one of the best counter attacking teams in the league. If Smith set us up like he did against Wolves we get ripped apart. Park the bus. That's the best way getting a result against them. Man Utd lack creativity.

Because a loss would be an absolute disaster. Chelsea, Man Utd and Leicester are up next. Lose to Newcastle and we certainly will be in the bottom 3 in Christmas.

He is rapid. That run he had in the 2nd half where he just ran past their whole team almost was amazing.

He never really played in a settled defense, kinda feel bad for him because the style of keeper he is i highly prefer over the Heaton style of keepers.
