  1. Thank **** for Ashley! 37 years old and SGs best signing
  2. Well it can improve and it has to improve as we are running at pretty much relegation standard at the moment. We were given a very kind start to the season which we have largely wasted, the Forest game is the last of the easier run, then we will be playing teams in and around the top half rather than those in and around us. We need to improve and Gerrard needs to improve otherwise the season will not only be a write off, it'll be a disaster
  3. I'm no Gerrard fan, but wouldn't it be better to avoid a relegation fight by... well you know.. winning?
  4. Surely everyone prejudged to some extent? You look at previous facts and you extrapolate them into the new situation. He was inexperienced, he came from his first job in a lesser league and had no experience managing a club in our situation. He was inflexible, he was known to only set his team out one way whilst at Rangers. He was known to be hands off in terms of coaching, hence why people said we would need Beale to come with Gerrard. The club choosing a manager of so little experience and proof of ability does suggest a lack of ambition. If he had come in and won every other game then pretty much every fan would be singing his praises, I certainly would. Sadly he has, so far, proved every fear correct. Still, before every game I hope 'this could be the one, this could be the game that it clicks and doubters are shown why Gerrard was chosen by our management '. I'll have that hope on Monday evening but certainly no expectation.
  5. If those complaints were about Gerrard's character or personality, should he turn out to have one, then that's fair enough but if those complaints were about his inexperience, inflexibility, quality of coaching or that his appointment foretold a lack of ambition by the club, the surely those complaints were warranted?
  6. I think we will win it but in very much the same way we won against Southampton
  7. Well I certainly lost my composure watching us waste time for time for the umpteenth occasion in the first half on Sunday
  8. The problem is we have had to revert to playing like Burnley to get those results. Now that's fine, once in a while, against the likes of City as going toe to toe will end in a beating but against Southampton and Leeds? Should we not, at the very least, be looking to play a better tactical game than falling over, time wasting, niggly fouls long ball football? It's just sucking any joy out of following the team. We are missing some key players but, let's be honest, it hasn't really been anything other than poor whatever the players we have put on the pitch. I want to see us showing ambition and keeping Gerrard suggests we don't have any
  9. Meh It's like staring at a turd from two different angles. It doesn't matter which view is worse, it's still crap.
  10. Only if we're disciplined in our niggling fouls and time wasting. Might have to rely on playing so slowly it has a soporific affect on them.
  11. His appointment showed a lack of ambition from the club and his continued employment shows a lack of ambition from the club.
  12. You are probably right, he will keep his job until his brand of anti-football becomes too much to stomach for a significant section of fans and the bottom line starts to be affected. I think only then will our owners act.
  13. One thing Gerrard has definitely been successful at is sucking all the joy out of following the club.
  14. He's not any where near PL standard and needs dropping. Bertie, whilst frustrating, is twice the player Bailey is. A loan to Turkey awaits you and your deluded father.
  15. I'm surprised people are surprised by how poor we are. We've been this rubbish for 80% of the games under Gerrard
  16. As you have Devil's Backbone in there I would give The Orphanage a try, though it's more of a unsettling ghost story in the vein of The Others rather than a full on horror.
  17. Really? Boris was booted because he's a lying piece of shit not because he was incompetent. He'd have still been a lying piece of shit without those occurrences.
  18. The league was finished for us by late August
  19. Exactly. No striker is scoring many goals in our current set up
  20. I've made peace with the fact that Gerrard will be here for the rest of the season, doing just enough to keep us lower middle half. I also suspect he'll start next season as well. So it's a couple of seasons of boring, dull football to look forward to. What a time to be alive
  21. I think Kamara looks a good player, disciplined in the defensive role and with a good range of passing. However, he clearly hasn't made any real difference to our overall play and results. This isn't a slight on him just that the tactics/ formation doesn't allow us to get the best out of any of our players, as such having Luiz come into the role won't entail a drop off in overall performance. Hopefully by the the time Kamara is back we might have a more tactically astute manager and then we will see the real difference he can make.
  22. Maybe her kids are clearings in the woods
