  1. No need to bite your tongue it's a public forum. That is a sad tale indeed. That his friends and family had no clue is awful. And I can understand people having a reaction to seemingly insensitive wording on sensitive issues. However my brain is fully engaged. It is clearly a flippant post after this thread had gone a little quiet after OFTR's post. Cancer isn't funny but there are many jokes about it (On an aside watch the documentary 'TIG' about a stand-up comic who get diagnosed with cancer - whether you agree with this reasoning or not), Murder isn't funny but there are jokes made about it, War isn't funny but there are jokes made about it. That's what dark humour is. In no way does it trivialise depression or anxiety. In fact that statement mocks the idea of trivialising depression when delivered in the sarcastic tone it was intended. Hence I chose those exact words. Like I said it's an emotive subject so I get it, but your assumption about me posting things about which I have 'no clue' is not only wide of the mark by a long long way for reasons I wont go into in a public forum if it's all the same to you, but also just highly reactionary and judgmental. On top of that the idea that you can't or shouldn't laugh about depression is just mental. Think about what you're saying there for a second. If keeping it OT if you glance over the last few pages of this thread you'll see quite clearly it is not my opinion that we are dealing with a depressed individual or Bruce would never have hung him out to dry. As OFTR say's - he's just a playboy. nothing to see here.
  2. Joint 8th top scorer at the club now 85 - Agbonlahor 9 - Ayew - Kodjia ===== 8 - Bacuna 5 - Westwood 4 - Kozak, Grealish ===== 3 - McCormack, Adomah ===== 2 - Richards
  3. Be surprised if he leaves before the summer. Still, this never gets old eh?
  4. After all the excitement I hope it's Bree and Hourihane. I just hope the remaining 5% has nothing to do with Barnsley wanting to get another game out of them. They're away to Rotherham on Saturday. Local derby for them. Be nice to have a bit of time to bed them in ahead of Brentford. Anyway sounds good DrX. Bring it on.
  5. Our last game of the season south of the M42. Unless......
  6. Bruce is too long in the tooth to go publicly shaming a player without good cause.
  7. Using art as a dissenting voice. What's not to like?
  8. Surely the scary thing about this is the only thing that's changed is the public facade. I couldn't agree more that it's disgraceful and a scary thing to say, but the reality is we have had exactly the same foreign policy served up for many decades under the facade of democracy and freedom. Would it really be any better if behind the scenes the re-re-invasion of Iraq is being planned yet Clinton is stood out front talking about humanitarianism while letting the death drones fly like Obama? Clinton didn't want anyone to hear what she had to say to Goldman Sachs lest the public actually saw her for what she was. Trump just isn't bothering with any of that. You're right imo to be incensed by it, just don't let the situation fool you into thinking Trump is the mastermind or he's changing anything when it comes to foreign policy. "ISIS is the number one tricky" after all. Putin said a lot of things about the Ukraine that people pointed out he shouldn't really be saying and then took all their gas fields like he wanted and no one's done a damn thing about it.
  9. 204 pages condensed into 6 mins by pie I see
  10. There's no hyperbole or conspiracy theory involved in plain facts There are many labels. Fascism is one. The problem I have with them is that we end up discussing whether Trump fits the exact definition of an ideology rather than focusing on what what's actually happening. No doubt that he's presiding over a closing society though.
  11. He's got a great sense of humour, I mean believe me he's got the best sense of humour, a real funny guy believe me.
  12. Invoked Internal and External threat - check Created Prison System outside the Rule of Law - check Internal Paramilitary organisations - check Internal Surveillance programme - check Infiltration of opposition groups - check Arbitrary Detention and Release - check Targeted control over Key individuals - check Subversion of the Rule of Law - check Control of the Press - ............. Suspend the Rule of Law - .............. Nearly there.......
  13. And people say he's not a politician
  14. I suppose what I meant was, errr. People have alluded to signings making the rest of the team basically step it up a bit in the past. Deano being the one that sticks out in my mind. He came and everyone around him raised their game. (sort of the anti-Heskey I suppose!) Just filled me with a bit of hope listening in that something has clicked behind the scenes despite the end result and wondered what those were there made of it.
  15. He's the back up for Jedinak right? So he played. We need to move on obviously, his time is nearing an end, but I get why he plays ahead of Tish at DM from what I've seen and I get why he'd start ahead of Bacuna or Gardner anywhere.
  16. From what I can see people are harbouring a grudge, which is fair enough. Anger is a reasonable, acceptable response to being wronged. I wasn't there yesterday, but I did listen to the commentary and the majority of people who were there seem to back up what I heard on the radio which was Gabby's best game in ages. I don't want him here. But unless clubs want to purchase his contract or the one he has with us runs out, unfortunately for me, what I want doesn't matter for toffee. We've lived through the whole saga with him. Bruce has just inherited a squad of players he needs to mould into a football team. Nothing more, nothing less. If Bruce can motivate him again (and yesterday at least sounded positive on this front) the only thing that will hinder Gabby is the fact that he has let himself slip physically. It's ridiculous that in January he is playing himself back into some sort of shape but he's flagging around half time every time I've seen him this season when he has started. We know he's been like this for years and so does Bruce, It's just it's only become Bruce's problem a few weeks ago and he'd be foolish to freeze him out - not least as I've said before that he'd be encouraging complaints about his management from Gabby's supporters. So stick him out there and let him sink or swim. It's a bit easier to understand Bruce's reasons for starting him with the gategate scandal coming to light, but Bruce can't just drop one of our highest paid players without giving him a chance to prove any worth or otherwise to him, as he sees it, right now. At the very least get behind him when he is on the pitch. Sun shines on a dogs arse some days....
  17. So to all the people who were there yesterday, a simple question. It seemed on the commentary and from our performance in the first half a hugely positive atmosphere. Obviously it went a bit south but would it be fair to attribute that at least in some small way to the feel good factor of a "new player bounce"?
  18. Who knows what Bruce found when he doorstepped him? It was bad enough for an experienced manager like Bruce to go public with it though. Would have been very easy to come up with an injury and give him a few weeks to get straight if he needed and/or warranted it. I trust Bruce's judgement.
  19. Also Hurray! Also Also nice to hear! But mostly thanks. I like laughing.
  20. So what I can take from all this is that if you want to say "Real Men" on VT and get away with it you have to be DrX? Lost in translation my arse.
