There's an argument to be had that IF we made the play-offs from here then it would be on the back of a really good run. We're obviously not going to do it playing like we are. No reason why we couldn't win it if we made it. And we'd definitely be the team to avoid if we put in a run with the sort of form we'll need to show. I made the if big for a reason though

In fairness to Cissokho when Olympiakos decide to send him back I think he'll at least get a loan out and play somewhere if we dont offload him in the summer. He was willing to go to Porto and off to Olympiakos. He's no Ireland / Gabby / Nzogbia in that respect.

I know we're getting a bit OT in this thread so I'll say this. IF and I stress, IF we're going to bother complying with FFP rules it will have an effect. Whether we do or not we are still a business that should be operating within it's budget. I can't believe DrX doesn't have many different plans for many different scenarios. When he walked through the door there were many reasons for splashing the cash a bit. He got us onside for one. I have no idea if 'they' underestimated the size of the task with RDM or what. We can only speculate from the outside. Bruce's whole demeanour strikes me of a man who expected a shambles and is still surprised at the lack of desire and application at the club. The players aren't doing what he tells them for one. We have been near to maxed out on wages for years, having the likes of Richards and Gabby doing nothing for huge money is crippling us. They need to be given the time to try and find a way of cutting the losses on half the squad. We haven't been able to do that in the past. Hutton, Westwood, Gabby, Gardner, Bacuna all getting extentions is only ok to protect the value of your asset if ANYONE wants to buy them. We need to sort this out once and for all because it's been holding us back since the days of MON filling the squad with the likes of Habib Beye. DrX does not strike me as a man who will put up with what Lerner let slide though. Problem is as we've seen with Ireland and Nzogbia in recent years if the desire to play isn't really there anymore we're obliged to see out their contracts and there's nothing we can do about it.

No need for the ? Bunn, Hutton & Kozak this year 2017 Gabby, Sanchez and Cissokho next year 2018 Gil, Richards, Elphick, Jedinak, De Laet, Baker, Green, Lyden, Steer 2019 Everyone else is contracted until 2020 FWIW Johnstone's contract at Man Utd is until 2018

I hope DrX has had a good look at Spurs over the last 10 years. The amount of money they've spent, the massive turnover of players. They are the only club in the premiership era for me who has grown year on year to break that top 4. They deserve their moment in the sun however much Levy makes it easy to dislike him. There are actually plenty of Championship players who could cut it at PL level. Otherwise clubs like Watford, Bournemouth, Swansea, Palace, Burnley and Leicester wouldn't get promoted and stay up (or win the league) with the same nucleus of players. And we wouldn't be here where some of those could be!! We need to find the right people that want to be with us for the next few years of their lives. The main asset we have right now is DrX for me. Not because of the size of his wallet although like you say he's gonna need to be happy to open it. Because after all the years of Ellis and Lerner maybe, just maybe our 'ceiling' is actually based on the good things we have going for once - the stadium, facilities, fan base, history etc - and not just the extent of the penny pinching from on high.

Fair enough. I stand corrected on him being Jedinak's man at the start of it all. Although not on the bit where they're all bloody ball watching. Tish is the problem for me though from 0:09 onwards he lets 2 players go without tracking either of them. On the bit around 0:13 he has around 2 seconds to either spot the runner and pick him up or give Jedinak a shout to tell him he's left him to cover 2 players. But if you freeze it then he HAS to become Tish's man at that point. Neither are looking at what's going on around them and Jedinak goes back on his heels at the same time thinking he's done his bit for sure, not great. But even when the ball hits the net he's at least closing down in vain while Tish is standing on the D frozen in time making gestures with his hands like he knows he's made a blunder.
