  1. Lovely from Bailey. McGinn taking two pot shots in that attack is frustrating. Ramsey doing well today so far too
  2. Fair play to Gerrard. Good decision here
  3. Nothing new but surprised not to see Left Back and another CM in there. 'At least one CB' is interesting, I do wonder whether we'll add two and whether - if we do - Who we sell: Hause or Mings/Konsa. Ideally Mings/Konsa compete for starter rather than get shipped out. But can see us trying to move one on to generate some FFP cash and keeping Hause as backup for a season or two.
  4. Have to agree, whilst the fact is an unknown missing couple of games isn't in itself an indication of a player being finished here. The feeling is he's just not in the plans and so they're no longer wasting minutes on him. I feel like it's a massive shame and could be a mistake but does feel like he's done here. Would love to be wrong but if he's not what Gerrard wants then we may as well cash in and try and get £10m for him to recoup some money now - but think we'll struggle to get that much back for him.
  5. Chelsea about to be bought by the owner of the LA Dodgers, imagine they'll be keen to keep him around too in terms of American links. Also can't see him leaving, he had an injury or two this year didn't he? Still has a part to play at Chelsea. If not a Bundesliga team would be all over that too
  6. Should've had an assist there but was lucky the pass found its way to the striker as looked a tad weak. Nice ball as he found the striker though
  7. I think all of them though have been 'so and so reports' and then basically reposting. Caleta-Car is reasonable as we know Purslow, Lange and Gerrard were all at a game he was playing in. Perhaps just for Kamara. But it's a position of need, he was there and we have previous in buying from Marseille. If I was to pick which one was most realistic, it's Caleta-Car. Nelsson, the links all stem from one poor account. As somebody else posted earlier, we get linked to a CB in the Turkish league most years. Not sure I buy this link as much. Sorry though, no I've not seen either play.
  8. I assume Nkunku is well and truly out of our grasp now? He's had a fantastic season, played as more of a striker this year too rather than as an attacking midfielder. A lot of goals and assists. 7 CL goals too. He'd be an incredible signing from Leipzig but I imagine he'd have been a big stretch for us anyway even before this season.
  9. Yeah was a very popular option last year, kind of fell off when we went Buendia and Bailey instead, then Coutinho. He'd be a good signing but can't see us moving for another attacking mid unless we lose out on Coutinho some how He didn't play last night due to injury but I desperately want their CB Evan Ndicka. Linked to Newcastle but as a LCB imagine they'll only go for him if they can't get Botman. Either of those two would be superb for us.
  10. Is KKH a Villa fan then? I knew Barry and JJ were, KKH I dunno why I never assumed would be
  11. Okay Mr. Jamaican-Villan If that IS your real name
  12. I kind of think we'd need another if we signed Gomez. He'd be such an unknown quantity in terms of an upgrade because of his long route back from injury. If he gets back to where he was, he's a step up on 2022 Konsa but as it stands he's probably a great competitor for him, with either able to win the starting slot. Don't think you can play them together. And so there would be a genuine case for our best starting partnership being Mings-Konsa again (Although unlikely as id be playing Chambers now tbh but let's assume it's a big dip for Konsa that he'll snap out of) I can't see that being an acceptable position for Gerrard. I think Mings will be phased out and a replacement for him will be signed and Gomez ain't that guy.
  13. Sinisterra was class for my Villa FM side, often played him ahead of Jack who I'd managed to keep
  14. FBRef reads like a disaster but his WhoScored page looks more promising: 6.73 average rating in all comps. Aerial Duels: V. strong, Concentration: Strong But Tackling: Weak. I'm going to go ahead and assume not many have seen him play live unless we have some Turkish Football fans?
  15. I'd let him go. He signed for 2.8years when he turned professional and had already been flirting with moving to Germany then. JPB was the same (best mates) but we hear very little from his camp even when he was looking more likely to make the step up than Carney in pre-season. I'm sure Carney works super hard and doesn't deserve the bad rap. But his team, agent or family have been making noise for 3 years now and it's been pretty constant this season for a kid no fans outside of Villa have heard of. I'd let him go if he doesn't want to be here, focus on those who do and hope we can make the most of them and he doesn't influence the likes of JPB any longer. KKH signed for 5 years, Iroegbunam 5 years, JJ 5 years. Carney is right to fight for the best contract possible but the tidbits we hear are not that they are in negotiations, it's that he isn't signing a deal, or negotiations aren't happening. I also have reservations about a kid in midfield who is a bit more laboured, that's his natural game, he's a bit like Berbatov except in midfield. Great touch, highly talented. I'm not sure it flies in the Prem for a child just coming through. Iroegbunam was pressing, was more assured and looked stronger. Im sure Carney will have a very good career - but I actually think a couple years in Germany before coming back to the Prem probably does make sense for him and we can focus on players ready for the league, who want to be here.
  16. I agree with all the points raised and very much sit on the fence on this lol. However, as much as it's a statement of intent to sign Coutinho - at this point, where we know Gerrard wants him, we know he would come, we know we have the money and if we don't sign Coutinho we will sign an attacking player - it'll also be a statement if we allow him to go elsewhere, particularly if it's to another Prem team. That may well still be the right call, I agree we should be prioritising Buendia, it hasn't quite worked with Coutinho - but maybe sorting other parts of the team out allows them both to flourish (can't see it) But losing a talent like Coutinho, only a year after losing a talent like Grealish, is a bit of a statement in itself.
  17. I think he only signed one recently didn't he? Think he's in the 2025 gang atm
  18. great news. Thought we may see him when Young was injured but he recovered. I assume he's going to be carrying a knock as I actually thought Young was one of our better players at the weekend. But getting Chrisene minutes is important and hopefully he takes his chance. His deal is up in 2024 right? So has some time to make an impact or go on loan before needing to sign an extension
  19. He'll play at some point in the CL. He won't be ecstatic with his minutes so far. Played 90' Vs Brugges twice in 4-1 & 5-1 wins. 90' Vs Leipzig in a loss and 68' vs PSG in a loss all in the group stages. Other than that he hasn't featured in the CL other than a 20' cameo in the 2-1 win over Atleti. So, not great on paper but he's played against Leipzig (competitively, not just as our statement summer friendly ), PSG, Atleti and the prospect of Real Madrid at the Bernabeu in a semi-final they are already winning. Then a shot at winning the Champions League. He'll be ecstatic even if he hasn't had the minutes he'd have hoped for.
  20. Wonder if we'll see him sign a new deal soon. His contract ends next summer too and hopefully he'll sign following on from his brothers new deal
  21. He only signed a 4.5yr deal last February. Fantastic for him and great for the club that both sides were keen to get back to the table so quickly on a new deal. Shows the faith in him and I assume pays him like his meteoric improvement this year deserves. Hopefully he keeps pushing and developing - he has done since his last contract so no reason to believe he stops now. Starting to see the long term plan: 2027: Martinez, Ramsey, Iroegbunam, Cash 2026: Buendia, Konsa (+1yr Option), Kesler, Digne Everyone else at risk this summer or next imo
  22. Cash has been better since signing the contract imo, I was really fed up with him but he's come into his own again since playing for Poland and signing his new deal
