He's so good. We need to lock him and Coutinho up for the summer in a Futsal pitch with a ball and hope they come back from summer with an understanding and can play together. Them two and Luiz as an 8 plying triangles will transform us.

Very composed, beautiful touches anda glimpse of some creative passing, in tight spots. When he's on the ball you can tell he's magic. Off the ball, I'm very unconvinced for the kind of club we are at the moment. A nice burst of energy and pressing when he first came on. Strolling around less than 10 mins later. It's fine when you are as silky as he is on the ball I suppose but there'll be times it costs us points. Though I suppose an 18 yo in midfield in the Prem will always cost you points at some point for one reason or another and you should always keep your best players. I would, however have him behind Ramsey and Luiz as an 8. Gerrard will have him behind McGinn too. Going to be a tough sell.

Great performance as an 8, not good enough as a 6 at least not in the way we need. Please stop playing him as a 6. We can convince him to sign the contract as an 8. Playing with Coutinho in a World Cup year as a player on the periphery of the Brazil team is such a selling point. Not to mention his romantic relationship at the club too, we can keep this guy. But if he thinks we're going to continue wasting him as he enters his prime years, he'll leave. Him and/or Ramsey can lead our new midfield rebuild.

We played well today. Nothing pathetic about it other than our defending for their first.

I didn't say could he carry the big games. I said I'm not sure we can carry him in midfield in big games.

I still think Carney is the midfield Berbatov. Wanders around barely paying attention. (once he's settled into the game and the initial energy is gone) Just as I'm getting frustrated at him, the ball comes to his feet and you can see his quality. Not sure you can carry him in midfield in the big games though.

Yeah 4-1 written all over this now. They're faster, more switched on and fitter than us in every area. We did alright for 70mins and a big step Vs when we played them earlier in the season but the gap is evident now with 20 mins left

Poor sub today. We were fine as a unit but thought Luiz was our best player all game. Nakamba just behind the fullbacks n that list for me today. Took one of, changed the others role and we were almost immediately punished. Can't legislate for individual errors to be fair, but feel the sub was driven by the context around Carney rather than what the game needed. Which was Buendia for Coutinho or Ings and not to reduce our defensive unit. Poor sub and at the wrong time for me. But can't blame him for the error Luiz made tbf.

Nothing wrong with Fabinho. If that was one of our players he'd be called a bottle job and sections of the fanbase would be saying he decided he was injured because he just wasn't up for it. AEG, Targett, Bailey just last week.
