Emery has pretty much wiped his battycrease with what I thought was reasonable and possible since he arrived so I just continue to shake my head and enjoy the ride. If Spurs or Chelsea were in our position all the media would say they were challenging for the title. As things look right now, of course we are. But I'd say just enjoy the journey, take it game by game. It's incredible progress, way ahead of schedule and above expectations.

I'd be amazed if we didn't considering our position. At least a right back. Now is the time to double down. Our stock is through the roof.

He's an artist. Not perfect all the time, but perfect for us. I wouldn't swap him for any other defender. Not even van Dijk.

I think Villareal's right back is perfect for us. But that's 'Foyth in' talk.

Collymore and Curcic were exactly who we needed. We just needed them not to turn into useless fannies when they signed for us.

Yes, I'm afraid so. But they know we don't have to sell any key players and can buy a right back.

There are tribes in the amazon that have never seen an aeroplane, a tv, a white person. They've no idea what coca cola is, they've never seen a road, never mind anything that might travel upon one. They've never had antibiotics or aspirin, they've never read a book or heard any other language but their own. Their way of life has not changed in over 1000 years. The sun rises and the sun sets and they hunt and forage for everything they own, every meal, every drink. Life is brutal, simple and hard. These people know more about what happens at Aston Villa than Greg Evans.

I don't know where this selling key players talk has come from. I don't think there's any chance of that at all. Certainly not in January. I expect we might shift a couple out and bring in a right back and maybe a loan player, then evaluate where we are in the summer. But, we have to do business from a position of strength. We cant afford to let this fizzle out or we're wasting our time and everything these "sky 6" obsessed idiots think about us as a club will be true. I'm certain that's not the case though. The owners are ambitious and so is Unai. They're not playing at this.

Why not both? If Spurs get triggered by this, that's shameful.

A new Right back in January for sure. I think there'll be a new long term left back solution too but probably in the summer, when we'll also get proper back up for GK. Tim being on the bench is great news, as I believe he's the long term cover for 6 / 8. But we may see another coming in who also covers CB.

He's class, and he was signed by one of the big clubs. A top 4 club in fact.

In preseason for sure. His passing was devastating at times. Then it all kicked off in anger and he struggled a bit but that's not a massive shock. He's always looked motivated, even if the sharpness was missing.

I think its clear (at least to me) that he was still suffering from his "phoning it in" season at a toxic Leicester last year, and that he needed time to adjust to our higher level of fitness and tempo. Well, it looks like he has now. Long may it continue.

Pros - It works the vast majority of the time. Cons - ... errrr.......

He's in great form at the moment and showing great desire. I love the guy.

I don't think it needs Football Club adding to be honest. We're a world famous football club. Aston Villa is all that needs to be said. I'm not sure a lion on its own (juggling a shuriken) is the way to go, but I don't hate it.

He's outstanding at the moment. Levels above where he was last year or so.

I like the team but I'm wary of starting both Luiz and Kamara. Dendoncker will replace one early hopefully.

He's not perfect, he's still adjusting to the league. But he's going to be a top player for us. I'm a big fan. His range of passing and composure is essential to how we want to play. I'll take a bit of rough for the promise of a whole lotta smooth (cue Kenneth).
