  1. To cope with an increased fixture list and to stay competitive.
  2. Oh hell yes. Share the love. Jan is insatiable too.
  3. Shows we still definitely need a couple in Jan.
  4. I like the team but I'm wary of starting both Luiz and Kamara. Dendoncker will replace one early hopefully.
  5. He's not perfect, he's still adjusting to the league. But he's going to be a top player for us. I'm a big fan. His range of passing and composure is essential to how we want to play. I'll take a bit of rough for the promise of a whole lotta smooth (cue Kenneth).
  6. Olsen (I know but, **** it) Chambers, Carlos, Lenglet, Moreno. McGinn, Tielemans, Dendoncker. Traore, Duran, Bailey. 3-1.
  7. He played very well on Saturday, taking one of the best players in the league out of the game. He can do it. Consistently enough? No, not really. Not for me.
  8. I agree. I want a top darts player there though. Quite good can back him up.

I bet he still managed to pick up a silly yellow card.
  10. Somebody who is a better defender than Cash first and foremost, but also a more attacking threat with crosses when they do get forward. Cash often hits the first man with crosses. It will cost a fair bit but OK.
  11. Top RB, young LB with massive potential (can wait until summer or next Jan), left sided AM / FW , backup GK. Maybe another striker. To be honest, only the RB is pressing. That's no dig at Cash but we're light there and he's not consistent enough.
  12. The current Lion and roundel looks great. ffs...
  13. I want the roundel badge to stay. Just on a better shirt.
  14. Its such a difference maker when you have a centre half bringing the ball into midfield, knowing he can play a safe short ball or ping a perfectly weighted beauty 50 yards to to run on to. It must be a nightmare to plan against. This guy is going to be absolute different gravy for us, you just know it. I think when we get more numbers back we'll play 3 centre halves away from home with Pau the left of the 3, taking the ball into midfield.
  15. He's raw, it's a bit frantic at the moment. It seems to me that adjusting to this league is going to take a while but if he does, there's a hell of a player in there. He's intriguing. I don't know whether it will work out or not but I get the impression its going to be fun finding out.
  16. He was my first Villa signing on FC24... I'm just saying.
  17. And Dendoncker, Ramsey and Bailey.
  18. Full backs are priority in my opinion. Especially right back.
  19. We haven't really looked in form yet but this was the worst of the lot. I don't know what to make of us atm. That was absolute half arsed bullshit though. Really annoyed.

Some of it was due to him being the focus of our attack but not most. It cannot explain it. He didn't just stand out among our squad, he stood out amongst most strikers in the league, or in Europe. You don't do that just by being better than your teammates. On the contrary, if he was in an average squad (he was) and still excelled with less chances and service his peers were getting, it says even more about how good he was with us. I think it was a case of him being settled, motivated, fully fit, and being in the right place and the right time. That Benteke in this team would score 30 a season.

Villa Benteke vs non Villa Benteke is not even the same universe. I dont know why. Injury? Finding the right club at the right time? Whatever the reason, he never got close to his Villa self and remains the best all round striker I have seen in my time as a Villa fan, going back to 1980. Duran has the same fire and potential I saw in Benteke. Its very early days but he's very, very exciting. Pace, power, audacity, attitude, awareness. 19 years old.
  22. That's exactly how I saw it. He was rusty AF and seemed to dawdle a bit on the ball - then again we were like statues in the second half until about 75 minutes. Once he's loose, his passing is absolutely lethal. Diaby tends to read his mind and vice versa. That's going to bear fruit all season hopefully. Torres or Tielemans to Diaby. Goal.
