  1. This is superb work guys, already generated a lot of exposure in a very short space of time. Well done to you all.
  2. No that's the press officer. Can't remember his name. Tommy Jordan or something.
  3. Good work Mike. All this puts pressure on the club.. there is some momentum building - look at the traction that the receptionist's resignation got - and promotes our plight to the wider world. There is only one narrative at Villa - and it isn't Fox's false one.
  4. Yeah this needs to be the way to approach it in my opinion. As has been mentioned on this thread, there is no way Lerner will put any more money into the club - his family won't let him. But - and this is just thinking off the top of my head - is there no way a deal could be arranged where a fan led consortium could start buying the club back from him in instalments? If say, we agreed to buy 51% over five to ten years - a gradual transition where he gets his money back?

    Mervyn King

First Mervyn at the club since this guy?
  6. Worth signing. At least it shows some support and if it gets picked up by the media, only helps to increase pressure on the top brass.
  7. McCarthy has just signed a new deal with Ipswich, but I agree with you I'd take him. He is a decent manager Mick, works well on a budget and would actually be a good fit for Villa.
  8. His work rate is just horrific. Never mind the rest of his game.
  9. I heard that Hollis uses a clean Villa shirt to wipe his arse every SINGLE day. Rather than give them to give them charity. I don't know about youz, but I think that is disgustin and wrong.
  10. Yes that is true and undoubtedly now we are championship bound you could see the club pass through a lot of hands very quickly a la Leeds for example. But something has to change surely? I know Stan Collymore is a bit of a rentaquote, but I agree with his idea of a boycott. When you have in effect an absent landlord, there is not much you can do to protest against him aside from boycott in my opinion. I realise that might cause some people a lot of pain, but to be seen to condone his regime is not a healthy thing either.
  11. From what we are told though, Randy is not a motivated seller. How do we make him motivated?
  12. He won't up his contribution. His family won't allow that I don't think. As far as they are concerned, the club was a bad investment and it is all about limiting any damage. The club will be further strangled.
  13. Yes but do we know if their replacements will be any better?
  14. Tell you what if Remi was struggling to attract players before January, imagine what it is like now?
  15. There is something about Garde that I really like. Now, I am not saying that it is certain to work out, but I think his approach is that there is little point pissing about at the margins. The club needs serious root and branch overhaul and he wants to lay down some proper foundations. I think he has got a really good handle on just how bad the problems are and how to put a strategy in place. I really liked this quote from his press conference today:
  16. Also worth keeping in mind that NONE of these players acknowledged the fans at full time. Not much respect shown there either. Trying to haul this back on topic, perhaps Garde should have insisted they went over - although he was rowing with big Sam at the time.
  17. Well said. The heat needs to be well and truly turned up. There are too many operating in a comfort zone both on and off the pitch from what I can see. Richard is right - fans have been so patient for so long it has given Lerner an easy ride. Now that the media are starting to get the idea (loved Joey Barton calling our owner a "muppet" by the way) fans need to keep reinforcing the message any which way they can.
  18. Well Matt Law bless him is doing his bit to raise the real issues at Villa on a national level: http://www.skysports.com/watch/video/sports/football/10118184/lerner-to-blame-for-villa-slump
  19. Is the whole 'experience of the Championship' overplayed for requirements when it comes to management? I mean, Karanka and Clement didn't have that much experience of Championship management and seem to be doing OK...
  20. Thing is Fox thinks he has a plan. His plan is for Aston Villa to become the 7th biggest team in the English Premier League. This is his stated aim. Now there are just two things wrong with that plan. 1.) It isn't a particularly good one. 2.) He does not know how to achieve it.
  21. Garde swerved the post match presser with the written scribes, but did do the flash interviews for TV. So there are some quotes from him. Think that BT Sport account is bogus.
