  1. I genuinely think that inflatable dildo with Gabby's face on it that someone had at Arsenal would provide a better focal point for our attack than the human Gabby. I say we give it a run out next game.
  2. Quite. Can't imagine their wages will be that much different - perhaps now that we have (potentially) a bit more financial muscle, their drop in salary might not be so much. So less incentive for them to want to move away.
  3. Randy Lerner; a benign man whose bumbling approach became downright dangerous. A nice mosaic and a few flags. That was about as far as he could execute a plan.
  4. If it is £60 million then that really does prove, as if proof were needed, that Randy Lerner is the shittest businessman ever. Impressively bad.
  5. Hats off to you Mark and all involved. Thank you so much for all that you've done to highlight our plight and put the fans voice across. Like you say, let's hope we can get back to something approaching normality soon.
  6. That bit doesn't sound good to me...
  7. Good authority says Bevington still there. For how long (and what use is he really - an administrator more than anything else) I don't know.
  8. I am not sure if this is the right thread for it, but I wonder if it is obligatory under Football League rules for players to have their names on the back of the shirts. I can't imagine it is. I was just thinking after a season where players have so spectacularly failed to play for the name on the front of the shirt whether we should campaign for them to play a season without having any names on the back. This needs to be a 'watershed' moment for players, directors and the owner - none of them should escape ignominy from this and my feeling is that pressure needs to be exerted on all sides against them.
  9. Gabs seems to like life out in Dubai.. would be great if we could offload him to one of the clubs out in the Middle East. Would be the perfect option for all.
  10. We have been a soft touch for so long. No surprise that the kids are so badly behaved when the headmaster has long lost interest.
  11. I was told by someone at the club that some of the stories of what has gone on would "make your hair stand on end". I heard a saddening allegation from someone else about one of our first team players recently... The club had pulled in an external physio to assess his injury. Player arrives with a bag full of money and attempts to bribe physio to say that he is still injured. If this were true, it shows you just what kind of culture and attitude exists at the club.
  12. Anyone ever see Gabby in any casinos round Brum?
  13. Would be an amazing coup if we could get him. Think it would change the whole mood of the club. I can imagine from his perspective it is much more attractive talking to someone like Little or Bernstein rather than a jester like Faulkner or "The Lidl Don Draper" Tom Fox.
  14. We still have an owner who doesn't want to be here but isn't - as far as we know - an active seller. The club is still hurtling in the wrong direction. General Krulak is back on board and now has more sway than before. The club still don't want to listen or accept any dissent from fans. We have players who care about the name on the back of the shirt and do not give any thought to the badge on the front. In short, there is still a lot to sort out.
  15. The night of the long knives has begun! Another dreadful appointment by the club. I wonder if they will be forking out more money to pay him off?
  16. Fair play to Tayls. I wish though he would come out and be more vocal. I don't think he perhaps realises just how much he is loved by fans and how much he could be a focal point. He has got a decent media profile and is clearly one of us.
  17. If you want a very visual, simple way of protesting get fans to tape their mouths with 'Lerner Out' written on it..
  18. That's the narrative in my opinion. The club are trying to straitjacket fans, forbid them from any show of dissent. It's a good story and the media will love it. And to be honest, there is nothing that makes me want to protest more than being told I can't protest.
  19. Haha yes. He loves Brian Clough doesn't he? Maybe if we can convince him that he can do a Cloughie at Villa Park then we might be on to something...
  20. Viewed from afar, I'd say the protests still have plenty of momentum and support. The heavyhanded approach by the club employees only heightens this and is something we can tap into. So it could be another walkout, tennis ball protest (I'd love this one), encouraging everyone to bring lerner out flags, whatever. There is only one story at Villa and that is pure unadulterated misery. There is nothing really football related to talk about either on or off the pitch, so let's focus on this I say.
  21. I'd take Moyes in a heartbeat. Would be happy with someone like Mick McCarthy. No nonsense and lots of experience.
  22. By stopping you show weakness. This fight is far from over. Don't stop now.
  23. Letting Paul Faulkner take day to day control of Aston Villa football club was akin to giving Augustus Gloop the keys to Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory.
  24. For some of them, I'd be genuinely embarrassed to call it a 'performance'. Richards galloping upfield out of position and then sauntering back when possession is lost. Is that really a captain's performance? Is that the benchmark? Would Vincent Kompany do the same? And then there is Gabby. Such lack of effort, such lack of anything really. Going to try and close down the defender Gabs? What about using some of that famed pace to get purposefully into the box? Or why don't you bumble around the pitch with no intent, no desire, no professional pride in what you are doing? How much effort does Sergio Aguero put in even though he is a million times the player you are? Gabby's latest incarnation reminds me of the golden years of Stephen Ireland. The anti-player. Always trying to be where the ball is not, present but not present. Trying to vanish and appear at the same time.
  25. Congratulations to all involved at setting this thing up. Amazing how far you've come in such a short space of time. The key thing now is that you've got momentum.. and the attention is firmly on those who have mismanaged our great club. This may achieve everything, this may achieve nothing but at least you will be able to say you didn't stand idly by when our club was sent on the road to ruin.
