  1. It is bloody hilarious. I can't understand what possessed them to do it. Even if Bennett doesn't see the responses, it is creating a bit of a story. And not quite the kind of story the club would want.
  2. As long as he sells to those lovely invest loads of money, make you a giant, PSG / Citeh type owners and not those want a piece of the limelight, change the clubs name / colours and appoint his son's friend as goalkeeper type managers. The only thing the Daily Mail sums up is that ogling at young children is acceptable as long as it's presented as news. Cologne? Berlin?
  3. I've always backed Lambert. Just thought he had something, an idea, a vision, a plan. But you cannot defend the indefensible. Ten home defeats is frankly disgusting. The crap that season ticket holders have had to put up with for the last four years beggars belief. My bigger problem is that getting rid of the manager is like shuffling deckchairs on the titanic. What difference will it really make? Yes, someone might come in and might pep things up for a bit. Look at Sunderland under Poyet. But real, substantive change will require serious investment. Something we seem unwilling or unable to do. What is clear is that we will go down - if not this year, then the next year or the year after that. You can only 'flirt' with relegation for so long.
  4. Everyone i have spoken to about PF tells you he is a really nice guy. They will also tell you that he knows nothing about football. Howard is right in my opinion. We are in a mess. How long are we going to 'flirt' with relegation before we finally get sucked in? And why should we as fans continue to put up with it?
  5. Paul Kerr once had a sip of my lemonade.
  6. That half pipe final was great. Hirano looks scarily good - Shaun White must be feeling pretty sore tonight. Thought his board might snap on the first run!
  7. I reckon a VP parade is definitely on the cards. Personally I think if they are going to rename the stadium, we should rename it after Jenny. After all, they did it for Jessica Ennis..
  8. That was awesome Jenny Jones. Just plain awesome.
  9. Whenever I think of a West Brom fan I always think of slightly cuddly, beard wielding CAMRA pub drinking old man. I bet the Hawthorns has more than it's fair share of pipe smokers.
  10. We've signed Ryan Bertrand on loan until the end of the season! Thoughts?
  11. If only it was 2 years ago. Oh I see. Two years ago both of them were good but now they are both awful. Is that it? Quick, sign Michael Ricketts So does that mean Holt is bad and Lambert is good? Because at least one of them was clearly doing something right..
  12. If only it was 2 years ago. Oh I see. Two years ago both of them were good but now they are both awful. Is that it?
  13. If Lambert is so shit and Holt is such a fat waster, then how come he scored all those goals for Norwich and was in contention for a place in the england squad for Euro 2012? Surely they both cant be true, no.
  14. I hope Holt thinks he still has something to prove. Keep thowing the brickbats!
  15. Seems to be lots of over reaction on here. It's a short term loan for a player Lambert has worked well with before. I think he knows the tricks of the trade and will hopefully be able to pass on the benefit of his experience. Maybe give him a chance before unleashing your vitriol?
  16. I think people are misunderstanding what he said. Didn't he say something along the lines of "you know who he is"? As in he is well known? Anyway if people are hoping for Milner then there is no wonder expectations are never being met at Aston Villa. I think he said it's someone who has played for us before. Apart from milner who would we want back that has played for us in the last few yrs?? He did not. He said it was a player we would all know and like. That player was to be Lescott. Zut alors. You are probably right. My contribution was said with a certain amount of tongue in cheek. Just trying to inject a little excitement into proceedings. Ah well, back to the barrel scraping.
  17. Before he was collared, HairyHands alluded to us signing a player who would give the club a lift etc. If I remember correctly, he hinted that this was a player that had already been at the club/had some connection with the club. For me there can be only one. Step forward, Meltdown Man: James Milner.
  18. Yeah I think Randy needs to feel some heat. This is bullshit as the Americans say.
  19. Agreed. I accept that there are deep deep frustrations that are understandably held, but we need to get a grip. It isn't going to help. It's a vicious circle that we need to get out of. If players are booed/feeling under pressure, it makes them more conservative, less likely to take risks and more likely to make mistakes. Hence contributing to the lack of creativity.

    New Manager

Surprised no one has mentioned Luis Enrique yet...
  21. Does anyone think Weimann suffers from Dirk Kuyt syndrome? ie, he does so much running around, that he is actually too knackered to be an attacking threat?
  22. I think it is pretty clear from Lambert (who usually is so anodyne in press conferences) has been making pointed comments about signings and wanting experience. He clearly needs more help. I know it has all been said before, but the club is really lacking someone with football nous above Lambert. Paul Faulkner may be a jolly nice chap but from all the people I've spoken to who've met him, no one has been impressed - in fact, they've been shocked by how little he knows and what little 'gravitas' a man in day to day charge of a Premier League football club has. Then who else has Lambert got? Lerner - he seemingly checks in to phone once in a while, but how on earth would he have any idea what is going on?
  23. I can't see Lambert going anywhere. As HH says, Lerner is desperate not to fire another manager. For starters, there is the cost implication.
