Damn I had money on Helenius to score first.... at least he's scored now though!! Still won't get started in a league game any time soon. I remember someone saying Lambert likes to rotate his squad a lot, what ever happened to that? He plays the same s***e every week! Maybe if he dropped someone for once, they'd give a crap next time they were selected.... the only players that ever seem lively are the ones that come on as a sub.

Ridiculous that he didn't get played when Baker got injured..... why put Lowton at CB when you have a CB on the sub bench. So disappointed.

I don't want him to start Benteke.... needs a rest and League 1 is a physical league so I think they will be able to handle him and probably rough him up a bit too. It's pace they can't really handle and there are plenty of quick Villa players to choose from! Don't mind the rest of the team but I'd like to see the following players started: Steer, Donacien, Gardner, Johnson, Helenius, Robinson, Bowery..... just to let them show what they can really do instead of coming on for 5 minutes as a sub appearance, if they crap for 90 mins then they've only got themselves to blame! I think (well hope) we win today.

I'm amazed he's still in the Scotland team when he hasn't even played for any team since last season! Is he the only Scottish RB?

A reasonable signing, not going to set the PL alight but will make a difference to the team.

Don't really know much about Delfounso but that stat might not say everything...... does he contribute to other areas of the game? Surely they wouldn't of played him 52 times otherwise!!

Bendtner is out injured now! That is a big blow for us ;-) Haha, he hasn't been playing too bad to be fair! On a positive note about the Arsenal game, the following all look to be out injured for that game: Ozil, Gibbs, Ramsey, Diaby & Sanogo. 2 others that there is a small chance but more than likely will be back: Giroud & Oxlaide-Chamberlain. I've changed my mind and think we can get a point from that game now Here's to hoping!

And he's right. Indeed he is although I'm old fashioned and look forward to the 3rd round of the FA cup. It's a shame we didn't pick up more points against Sunderland and Palace at home and Fulham and Stoke away as we'd be in a far healthier position in the league and therefore maybe more focussed on the FA cup. I've seen us win the League, the Euorpean cup and the League Cup and would love to add the FA cup to that list. I should hope that even a "weaker" Villa side should be able to beat a team that is struggling in League 1!!! Although last season I was thinking Villas first team should be beating a League 2 team but ya know!

Give him a chance I say, a lot of people on here saying to sign Hughes from Derby, yet they've compared him to Grealish on here and obviously no cost involved! Best time to do it now, in the first couple of weeks of Jan, then if not as good as hoped, there is still time to sign someone else.

Everyone seems to keep saying "Benteke not on 60k a week".... what's he on then? He was on 20k before his new deal when he handed in a transfer request, then suddenly withdrew it when he got a higher pay EXTENDED contract. Personally I think he's on near to 60k as he could be on that at Arsenal or whoever just warming the bench. We can pay those kind of wages I believe, just not to a whole team like we were before. Just the odd 2 or 3 "Star performers". There's at least 5 articles saying he on 60k and one says "at least double" from 20k.... nothing says otherwise, other than loads of people on here who seem to think we wouldn't do it.

He's only 19, apparently we are after a couple of experienced players on loan, might be one for the summer though.

I disagree with the Paris comment, went there in the summer and there were people in PSG shirts absolutely everywhere and kids playing football in the streets..... I think the takeover has brought the popularity within Paris back. As someone has said, it's all down to what's popular locally more than nationally..... for example football isn't the most popular sport in Gloucestershire, it's Rugby and I'd say Cricket is up there too (I'm not into either!). It's all to do with the quality of the teams/individuals aswell (Cheltenham Town the top team and they are in League 2, whereas in Rugby, Gloucester are in the top league and have won the Aviva premiership a couple of times in the last 10 years). All depends on the owners of PSG and Monaco and whether they carry on ploughing cash in...... those 2 teams will continue to be decent within Europe but the quality of the rest of the league would probably be the equivalent of the Scottish league!

Was going to suggest Cuba but then realised you in America..... if you not American then it's very nice there and cheaper than anywhere else in Carribean. You'd have to fly from Mexico or Canada though for obvious reasons

Going Brussels in Feb (4 days) & Venice end of March (4 days). Not sure on the main hols yet, went Cuba this year and that was awesome! Wouldn't mind going to Iceland as it looks pretty cool there, thinking about Costa Rica too.

This is what I remember of him, skimmed a few players then got wrongly yellow carded for diving when really he got wiped out. Keep wanting to see him played again though! Back in Jan from loan spell so will see what happens!

I'd be happy with Powell on loan, purely because of his goal in the Playoff final against Cheltenham town.... what a goal! Was a bit dissapointing as I was there watching Cheltenham but hey ho! I think the actual loan signing will be Lescott.
