  1. We’re going to have to get Europe without our best player it seems (Kamara). Will make it even more of an achievement.
  2. They’re too similar. They like to play off the shoulder and find space in the box. The striker that plays alongside Watkins will be one that likes to drop deep and knit the play - like what Buendia is doing now but I imagine someone a bit faster and stronger.
  3. Boro will loan him again if they come up. Will save them a fortune and with him and Akpom as their forwards, that allows them to spend elsewhere.
  4. I’m afraid it probably goes hand in hand with success. Honestly, you should sit in either of the stands beside the pitch at Anfield, it’ll blow your mind.
  5. I think the more we aim to become a top club, the more we have to accept these kind of initiatives. I don’t like it, nor would I use it, but the club will do everything they can to eek out every penny from fans on match day in order to pay top players to play here. Wait until the the time everyone has their phones out filming the corner taker. That’s when we’ll truly know we’ve made it.
  6. Personally, I'd like to see all 4 go back on loan again next season provided we strengthen adequately in the Summer and don't need to use them. I'm all for them coming back in at 21/22 and seeing where they're at then. I know a lot will disagree! I think all could perhaps use a loan abroad too just to get a feel for a different way of playing/working. The Championship is great for physical development and getting used to the British style of play, but I'd argue a more technical league may benefit our players more after they've done their time in The Championship.
  7. Think the club would prefer to free up the wages of Coutinho and Digne for other areas of the squad if possible.
  8. Apparently he's going to one of the top clubs...!?
  9. Lo Celso and Almeida linked once more in The Mail.
  10. Guendouzi makes a lot of sense. Can play either on the left side of midfield or in a central position. That means he'll be pushing Ramsey for a place and can also fill in if Kamara/Luiz can't play centrally. I've also heard £20m mooted, not sure if that's correct or not. I'd hazard a guess we'll bring in Guendouzi, two forward players (Lee Kang-In and Williams?) and a right back (Foyth?).
  11. Given the glowing reports he's getting at the moment, you'd think he might be able to do a job here for the last 5 games of the season. With Coutinho being out long term it seems and Traore struggling with fitness, surely he could be an option at least...?
  12. From WalesOnline: And Philogene, well, how to describe him. A unique footballer who, as one club insider put it recently, "can be anything he wants to be, if he wants it enough". Few would argue with that statement, especially on the evidence we have seen in the second half of the season. Philogene is the club's third top scorer, behind only Kaba and Callum Robinson this term, with five. But it's that x-factor he provides. The confidence with the ball at his feet. The creativity and ability to hit a pass no one else would think of, let alone be capable of. He is a defender's nightmare. Journalists and reporters in away press boxes invariably find themselves asking this writer about one player during matches and that is Jaden Philogene. A potential star in the making, that's for sure, and it will be intriguing to see what the next step of his footballing trajectory looks like when he returns to Aston Villa this summer.
  13. Let's kick towards the Holte in the first half and get a couple of early goals. Blow them away. We've done it a couple of times this season. A lot will depend on whether Martinez plays. Olsen is beyond poor.
  14. Some pace shown by him there. Ramsey and Watkins aside, I'm not sure any of our players would be quick enough to run the length of the pitch in that minute and score.
  15. I'm honestly shocked Spurs have the amount of points they do. It feels like they should have 5-8 less than they currently have. They're clearly in huge decline and will (I hope) finish the season poorly, but they're still in a relatively good position considering all the noise that's been made about the club and their players.
  16. Sarr taken off. Will take him a long time to recover from that.
  17. This is great for us. Spurs goal difference taking a battering.
  18. You can’t blame him for the goal yesterday, but at the same time, I think Martinez probably saves it. The drop off in quality is massive between the two.
  19. We should be constantly pinging balls down the side of them / over the top for Watkins to spin and chase after. Maguire and Lindelof lack pace. It may even be Shaw playing there but he’s not the quickest either. They’ve still got a very good side even with the injuries. Fernandes, Martial, Casemiro, Sabitzer, Eriksen etc. these aren’t mugs.
