  1. I’ve been saying it for a couple of years (as I’m sure you all have) but if you take Kane and Son out of that Spurs team it is really, really average. Son has been disappointing this season and look at how much it’s affected them. Without Kane they’ll be, well, fighting it out with us for a top half finish. I remember losing to them 4-0 a couple of years back at VP and we were the better side (as mad as that sounds). Kane and Son were phenomenal that day and they are and always have been the difference. If they sell Kane, they’re going to need to reinvest that money very carefully.
  2. Not really, he’s a player we can improve on and people are just discussing that. It’s a forum.
  3. I hope Kamara is back so we can drop Bailey.
  4. I heard he’s more dangerous than sharks with frickin’ laser beams attached to their heads.
  5. Too bloody right. Honestly, I think we could finish in the top 8 with a better support striker and a better wide player. If we get those two right, we're flying.
  6. Thing is, Bowen isn’t even that quick/good. It surely can’t be that hard to find somebody like him?
  7. You’re probably right. I don’t think Coutinho has the legs or the same drive as Buendia does. That said, he’s a much better footballer, without question. Coutinho is a sublime player with regards to technical ability.
  8. He’s so much better in that position behind Watkins than he is as one of the wide players. He doesn’t have the pace to get in behind players and the strength to hold players off. Where he excels is receiving the ball on the half turn and moving towards the opposition penalty area because he has the quality to unlock the opposition defence. The pass to Watkins against Crystal Palace was sublime. He still gives the ball away in dangerous areas and often gets bullied off the ball but right now, he’s a better option than Bailey, Ramsey and Coutinho (albeit I think Coutinho is the better player). If he keeps improving and putting in performances like yesterday, he’s worth his place in the side, no question.
  9. It’s an interesting thought. The club, Emery in particular, will know his ability and potential and they’ll make a call on whether they think he’s likely to improve. His stock is high at the moment still. With Gordon selling for £45m, the club may think if they can get something similar, they can invest in the team and find a better player for less on the continent.
  10. Is Rice better than him? He's probably stronger and a better tackler but overall? If he is, there isn't much in it. My concern is whether that new contract contained some sort of agreement he could leave if an offer amounting to X arrives this summer. He's improved SO much under Emery. Way more than I'd have imagined.
  11. I knew Password123 wasn't a good idea. Anyway, I’m back now. That Buendia is sh*t.
  12. I must admit, the way we play makes me nervous but I love the way Emery is sticking to it and the marked improvement in players like Luiz, McGinn, Watkins and Buendia is great to see. Talking of the press, it’s clear like others say, we’re luring the opposition onto us with the intention of playing a direct pass to feet in behind their midfield where the likes of Buendia and Bailey can get on the ball, turn and have space to attack their back line. We also then try and push a fullback on and the opposition then have a problem. The problem we had yesterday was that West Ham were well aware of our game plan and weren’t pressing all that much. Which is fine, but it means the tempo of the game is a lot slower and a bit more ‘cat and mouse’. So far, I’d rate Emery as a 10/10 appointment. He’s doing fantastic things with an average squad in my opinion. This coming transfer window is absolutely huge.
  13. Was a strange move. He’d have been better off in the championship!
  14. Starting to become the player I thought we were getting. He’s still not quite there yet but he’s improving. I thought he played well yesterday.
  15. Having slept on it, I actually think Traore was ok when he came on. I’d previously said he was poor but perhaps that was a bit harsh. I don’t think he did a lot wrong, in fact, he was a bit of a nuisance to them. Much, much better than Bailey. Is he the answer? Absolutely not. But fair play to him, he kept the ball reasonably well and he’s something a little different for defenders to manage. What this does do, is shine a light on just how poor Bailey is. Traore looked unfit, rusty - which you’d expect given he hasn’t played in a long time - and is just coming back from an unsuccessful loan spell in Turkey and he was still better than him. Bailey is lucky we have injuries to Coutinho and Kamara, as well as Traore being unfit because if they were not, he might not even make the squad given how amazingly sh*t he is every week.
  16. Shout out to Ezri, thought he played well today.
  17. What are your thoughts on Archer? If you don’t go up, which I think you will as you seem to have all the momentum, I’m pretty sure you’ll be able to loan a few of our players again next year. Personally, I think another year out on loan for Ramsey, Archer and Iroegbunam would do them the world of good.
  18. How is that not a penalty and a red card for Pope??!
  19. Thought he was poor again today. Come on, Jacob. Will be a squad player next season.
  20. He’s poor but miles better than Bailey.
  21. A draw was a fair result. We weren’t good enough to win the game really but neither were they. We’re very smart in the way we play and I think Emery was happy with a point the longer the game went on. Some good performances. I thought Luiz, Watkins and McGinn played well (as they have been the past few weeks). Mings and Konsa were solid and Buendia had a pretty good game too. Not sure any of us learnt anything new from the game. Our fullbacks need looking at and it’s absolutely imperative we improve upon Bailey who is consistently the worst player on any pitch he walks onto.
