  1. I think I agree he’ll be off. His wages, along with Digne’s could be better spent elsewhere. Im just saying I’d rather have him coming on or playing over Bailey who I think is really, really poor.
  2. Really poor. Strange goalkeeper. Capable of some stunning saves but it looks like he’s doing his best to make average saves look really difficult.
  3. Maybe, maybe not. He’s a better option than Bailey though.
  4. Is that George Hall worth a look over at Blues…? (I know, I know)
  5. Do you think he looked quite good on the ball too? I did.
  6. I think the club are doing everything they can to give Bailey the chance to improve and prove he’s worth what we paid for him. He’s probably the only player that hasn’t improved under Emery though and his injury record is a concern. With Coutinho coming back, I can’t see a scenario where he’ll play much more this season. He’s been a really disappointing signing.
  7. That piece of play was truly outstanding. Would have been one of the assists of the season. Everytime he gets the ball and runs at the opposition full back, I assume something is going to happen. The defensive aspects of his game will also improve as he plays more. I don’t actually think they’re that bad as they are but still.
  8. You lot need to be a little bit more optimistic. Head over to my thread.
  9. Just out of interest, is that a mathematically correct statement?
  10. I feel like Konsa/Mings have been our centre backs forever! No way Carlos comes in for Konsa at the moment. You can’t drop a player playing as well as he is. Long may it continue. Absolutely daft that he hasn’t got an England cap.
  11. What I love about Luiz is he is just improving at a scary rate. He’s a brilliant PL central midfielder at the moment but on his current trajectory, how good COULD he become? We should be bracing ourselves for offers in the Summer from the top sides because he’s a cracking player.
  12. He does this thing where he beats his man every. single. time. And he’s a left back. He’s doing what Bailey should be doing. Whenever he’s played in, you need to be on your feet because he seems to create a chance on almost every occasion he steps foot into the opposition box. Ok, he may not be great defensively but what he gives you going forward is truly sensational. A really superb signing.
  13. He was superb today. No doubt. That is his best position without a doubt.
  14. I still think we need to win at least 5 of our remaining games. That probably includes the next two. Beat Brentford and the atmosphere against Fulham will be electric.
  15. If anything, I think he’s got worse..
  16. That was the most complete performance I’ve seen from a Villa side since we’ve been back in the PL, maybe since the decline set in under Lerner. They were breathtaking. To a man. Moreno, Dendoncker, Luiz, Watkins, Mings, McGinn, my good mate Buendia, you name it, they were outstanding. All I’ve heard all week is, ‘Wilson is better than Watkins’, ‘watch out for the Newcastle press’, ‘they’re so physical’. Watkins put in one of the most complete performances from a striker you’ll see all season. The press plays perfectly into our hands (nice one Howe) and we bullied them in every department winning every 50/50. We look a complete team. Every body fights for everybody else, even when we’re playing poorly. Every player knows their role and we won’t change our style of play. Not for Brentford, not for Brighton, not for Arsenal. You come to VP and we’ll try to play through you and control the game. I’m absolutely astounded by that performance. We’re going places. Breathtaking.
  17. Absolutely feasible. United have a makeshift back 4, Spurs are in a false position and Newcastle, well, after today, are they catchable?
  18. You lot can happily chat away in the other thread if you like, I’ll stick to this one. Would you bet against us?
  19. He’d be brave not to include Ramsey as well given his performance today!
