  1. I see this stat a lot re. Konsa. Really impressive tbh. Do we think Konsa has reached his full potential as a defender? I think he's been excellent since Emery has come in and whilst Mings, McGinn and Watkins take most of the plaudits in terms of improvement, Konsa has gone under the radar and gone about his business commendably. I love the fact that Carlos needs to be f****** excellent to get in ahead of him. Top teams have players fighting for the shirt. We need to get to that point and I think Konsa knows he has competition which has perhaps pushed him to be better (which he has been).
  2. I agree with this. I'm actually of the opinion that Buendia can only play as the 10 in a team that wants to challenge for Europe/consistently be top half. He doesn't have the pace or strength to excel in a midfield position in my opinion (I'm aware he's played there this season a lot). Bailey too, needs to be playing out wide, I just think he's miles off it ability wise so we're going to need to upgrade on him regardless. I've said it for a while, but if we can get top quality players in to replace Buendia and Bailey in the starting line up, we're going to have some team. That's not to say Buendia won't play his part, I just know we need better in order to get where we want to be.
  3. Foyth seems like such an obvious target. I can’t say I’ve seen him much but read that Madrid and Barca both wanted him…?? Given he’s Argentinian as well, you’d expect that would work in our favour.
  4. I'd snap your hand off for a 1-0 'boring' win right now if offered. However, I'd love to stick 5/6 past this lot. Not because I dislike Forest, but because it sends a message to the teams around us and continues our momentum.
  5. It’s a slippery slope my friend. You’ll be adding me on Facebook next.
  6. Don’t buy the ‘Europe is a burden’ idea. We might as well all go home now if we don’t want to target European football because we may have to play a few extra matches. I love watching Villa. I want them to play every night of the week. We have some decent youngsters. If we get into Europe, it might just mean a couple of them stick around next season. That, and we’ll probably add a couple of players in the Summer anyway. FWIW, I think we’ll just miss out on Europe. I reckon we’ll finish 8/9th
  7. I think we’ll add 3 starters and get rid of as much of the dead wood as possible.
  8. Hmmm. I still don’t rate him (I guess I’m one of the many that deem him ‘wank’ then), but that goal will go down as one of my favourites for sure.
  9. Two games in a row now at VP. The place needs to be bouncing. 6 points please.
  10. Motm comfortably. I make that 6/7 motm performances in the last 10 games. He’s in sensational form.
  11. Mr consistent. Consistently our worst player. Shame, because I think he tries.
  12. For me, of the players that consistently start - Young/Cash, Bailey, Buendia and Ramsey are the ones you could perhaps say are the ones we can improve on. If we go out and improve on those positions, well, with this manager, who even knows.
  13. Win Saturday and dare I say we should be looking even higher than 7th..
  14. McGinn motm again comfortably for me. What form he’s in. Also thought Moreno was superb and Luiz very good too. Bailey horrific. Great goal, great win.
  15. Doesn’t have a lot of options tbh. Not much he can do.
  16. Draw is a fair result so far. We can win this but Leicester aren’t a bad side.
  17. How we getting on with the old fair play stuff? Or has Martinez fu*ked that for us?
  18. If, and it’s a big IF, the team that started against Chelsea can stay fit, we have a chance. An injury to McGinn, Watkins, Martinez, Kamara, Luiz etc. in the form they’re in, would really set us back. With Coutinho and Cash to come back too, we will have a few more options. It’s all about setting us up for the finish. Win against Leicester and Forest and we go into the final 8 matches playing all the teams around us. It’s a dogfight then. Momentum is key.
  19. We just have to keep winning. The only two teams in the league who consistently win are Arsenal and Man City. Newcastle may well be the best of the rest and have momentum. United are on a horrible run of form and look lost without Casemiro. Spurs are managerless and Chelsea are likely to be soon too. Liverpool are hit and miss. An injury to Kane would be catastrophic for Spurs. We’ll need a helluva lot of luck to finish in the top 6/7, but all we can do is keep winning games and closing the gap. We have an outside chance and the fixtures are reasonably kind. 7 points from the next 3 and you just never know!
  20. I watched him again today and he’s head and shoulders above anyone else in their side, including Ward Prowse. He’ll be moving in the summer.
