Not sure I agree, Messi. And even if they were, there is no guarantee that quality transfers to the PL. You pay a premium for a PL player because you know they can perform in the league to a certain level. Not saying we should/shouldn't sign Henrique, Chukwueze, Olise etc. just not sure I agree the players you mention are better than Olise/Eze.

Oddly enough, if we were to go big on one player, I do think Olise would be a good choice. Spending a combined £70m on Olise and Guendouzi, isn't bad business, surely? Add those two to our starting XI and we'd be flying!

Really? That's like us selling Luiz and Kamara this Summer. Palace will only sell either at an astronomically high price (£50m+) and whilst I rate both, I don't think we're in a position to spend that sum of money yet on a single player, and I'm not sure it would be sensible to either. I can see us doing most of our shopping in Spain/Portugal this summer, Guendouzi aside but regardless, there is so much better value abroad than trying to buy our rivals best players. FWIW, if money were no object, I'd have both. I think both are fantastic players with bags of potential.

Doesn't start for them anymore. I remember when he played against us, Gary Neville was treating him like the second coming of Christ. He's got talent for sure, but it would still feel like a gamble. Not sure he suits our system and they'd want a pretty penny for him too.

I've always thought Smith Rowe is a top player but injuries have blighted him. It's odd. Now we're flying and we're 6th, I find myself turning my nose up at very good footballers. I need to get a grip.

It’s because of his ties to Gerrard and I think he will always remind a lot of people of the Gerrard era. My views toward him haven’t wavered. He’s the best footballer at the club but he’s injury prone and doesn’t look more than an impact sub given his fitness levels. He could be an asset but as a club, we’d need to be in the Champions League to be able to afford to pay players 125k a week to sit on the bench. We’d be better suited to getting rid in the Summer if we can. As much as it pains to me say, because I love watching him when he’s on it.

He's a really strong finisher, equally adept with both feet too. Definitely one of his key attributes.

I know he's almost certainly out of our reach, but if we were going to spend big on a player, I'd love to go in for Dani Olmo. He's always been really impressive whenever I've watched him. If we get Europe and bid high with big wages, who knows!

My Arsenal supporting mate reckons he was the original star boy. Injuries put paid to that. Maybe he's over them now and he'll finally achieve that potential? Be nice to see him move on and try to pursue first team football with somebody like us or Brighton though.

Hmmm, not sure about that. If we make Europe, it seems to make a lot of sense as a transfer. Personally, I don't actually think we'll sign anybody from the PL in the Summer as we'll do our shopping abroad but I do think Maddison is a very good player.

I was talking about Brennan Johnson being average. Also, Lavia and Maddison are both very good footballers. Lavia has a huge amount of potential and Maddison would start in our bext XI. Strange comment.
