  1. I was talking about Brennan Johnson being average. Also, Lavia and Maddison are both very good footballers. Lavia has a huge amount of potential and Maddison would start in our bext XI. Strange comment.
  2. I think that's a bold claim but fair play
  3. Definitely makes sense. Can't see him going anywhere else in truth. Not unless he goes to a PSG/Madrid type but doubt that would happen. Spurs could be in a right mess next season. I look at their starting XI and I see a lack of quality all over. Their back 5 is a car crash - Romero aside.
  4. Willing to bet that he'll be sent off before he scores a PL goal for us.
  5. Any result 'suits' us. Newcastle win, it means Spurs are right back in the mix. Spurs win and Newcastle are suddenly in 'freefall' and a top 4 spot may become available again for those chasing. It's the perfect fixture for us as any result can be construed as positive for us. We just need to concentrate on winning.
  6. I mean, come on. Gerrard as a manager = sh*te, but let's not pretend he wasn't anything other than f***** superb as a footballer. He gave you absolutely everything you'd want in a midfielder and I'd argue one of the greatest to grace the PL. He was better than anything we've had at VP in my lifetime and that's with my C&B tinted glasses on. I hate him as much as the next bloke, but like I say, terrific footballer and would be better than most 'modern' players even now.
  7. The price for Ramsey would be insane. We're talking £75m+. Why would we sell? Great to be even having our players linked to the 'bigger clubs'. It means they're doing well.
  8. I still think Brighton and Liverpool will finish above us, but I also think Spurs may drop out of it all together. This would mean a 7th place finish which would be an incredible achievement. I'll still be gutted we didn't make the Europa League though! Next two games are massive. Win both and we can actually afford to lose a couple towards the end of the season.
  9. Really? He's been average at best whenever I've seen him play. It looks like the 3 clubs to go down will be Southampton, Leicester and probably Forest. I'd take the following from them... Lavia Maddison Iheanacho (as back up) Kamaldeen Sulemana (for his potential, but only at the right price) But that's probably about it. Not sure I'd take anyone from Everton or Leeds if they were to drop. Onana and maybe Tyler Adams? We need to be targeting Europe now and the players we target must be exceptional.
  10. Interesting. I do find it funny when people use the word scapegoat on here. I don’t think people understand how it’s supposed to be used. When players play poorly and we lose, posters pick up on it and comment on it. When players play poorly and we win, posters pick up on it and comment on it. Bailey has been mostly dreadful this season. He’s not a scapegoat, he’s just not good enough at this level and people are commenting on it. I’m not sure Buendia has ever been a ‘scapegoat’. I think most of the posts on here have been very supportive even after poor performances. Lately though, I think he’s been very good and much improved. Not a dig at you btw!
  11. Agree with all of this. We need to offload Digne and Coutinho in the Summer along with the fringe players - Sanson, Davis, Chambers, Traore, Olson etc. We then replace with 3/4 quality additions that will contribute more and also bring back Archer/Iroegbunam to integrate into the side. That's if we get into Europe. If we don't, I'm much happier having a small squad of players and the youngsters going back out on loan.
  12. I think I agree he’ll be off. His wages, along with Digne’s could be better spent elsewhere. Im just saying I’d rather have him coming on or playing over Bailey who I think is really, really poor.
  13. Really poor. Strange goalkeeper. Capable of some stunning saves but it looks like he’s doing his best to make average saves look really difficult.
  14. Maybe, maybe not. He’s a better option than Bailey though.
  15. Is that George Hall worth a look over at Blues…? (I know, I know)
  16. Do you think he looked quite good on the ball too? I did.
  17. I think the club are doing everything they can to give Bailey the chance to improve and prove he’s worth what we paid for him. He’s probably the only player that hasn’t improved under Emery though and his injury record is a concern. With Coutinho coming back, I can’t see a scenario where he’ll play much more this season. He’s been a really disappointing signing.
  18. That piece of play was truly outstanding. Would have been one of the assists of the season. Everytime he gets the ball and runs at the opposition full back, I assume something is going to happen. The defensive aspects of his game will also improve as he plays more. I don’t actually think they’re that bad as they are but still.
  19. You lot need to be a little bit more optimistic. Head over to my thread.
