Ollie does seem like a very down to earth and likeable character. You can't help but feel he deserves all the success that comes his way.

It's not just recent matches where teams have played through our midfield it's been happening for awhile. Leeds and the first game against Southampton both of them destroyed us through the middle. Maybe with both Luiz and McGinn out of form it's going to happen, maybe it's too much work for McGinn and he needs someone like Nakamba (or Sanson) in there fighting with him? One thing for sure is we have options.

65 points is fifth place last season. 60 points would be sixth last season. If we continue our form, sixty points is possible. Who knows, we need Wet Spam to drop off though and Arse to continue their inconsistent form.

Some have been comparing Watkins and Abraham and I like them both but for me Watkins is a better all-round player. £33 million or whatever it is it's good value....Chelsea would have wanted about £50 million for Abraham.

I said this at the time he signed and it does irk me that it could be accurate. For the £25million (or more) the massive wages and his inconsistency I'd pass on Barkley. Spend the money elsewhere on a better CAM.

I wasn't advocating signing Ward-Prowse it was that I thought he is a good player. Both games against them they dominated our midfield especially at Villa Park and JWP was at the forefront. @nick76 hence yes, I think he's good from open play.

Double-swoop for Ward-Prowse and Vestergaard would be good, might cost a bit. I was thinking during the Saints game, Ward-Prowse is a good player who would fit in well at Villa. Correct me if I'm wrong but we could be better scoring directly from free-kicks. Saints have reached their level perhaps the two would be looking to move on.

The last couple of transfer windows have been quieter from a financial perspective, due to Covid. Is that likely to continue into the next transfer window?

I like Nakamba. He should stay in the team now and he was unlucky to lose his place after the Barcodes game. We certainly needed his energy against Burnley and Wet Spam.

Watkins is performing so well, be great if he can get 20 PL goals. It's certainly possible, he must fancy himself to score in every game he plays! His hold-up play and movement was top class against Arse.

He was better against Arsenal but his form of late has been poor. Maybe he's better suited with Nakamba or Sanson alongside him.

Barkley was a little better against Arsenal and he does link up well with players around him. He does go missing though and seems fatigued. I also didn't like his petulance when he was substituted. To be honest for the rumored £20-30 million it will cost to sign him I think we should look elsewhere. Spend a little more on a better more consistent version of Barkley spending £30-50 million.

Great result and team performance! Watkins MOTM for me but yes Mings was Awesome too as was all the back four. Thought Nakamba was good too, we needed to make our midfield a little stronger. Ramsey looked bright in his little cameo. Oh, and Arteta, Xhaka are 'words removed'.

Villa have to change the midfield, it's a weakness! We are too lightweight and tired. Burnley and West Ham bullied us in the middle and we weren't that good against Southampton either.

Seems ludicrous, guess we'll soon find out. It's how his ego reacts to being benched which might be interesting, he wasn't happy with getting substituted.
