  1. Yep unfortunately Villa are a one-man team! I thought Traore or El Ghazi would step-up.
  2. I thought Ramsey was our best player against Sheff Utd. Wanted the ball, took players on, some nice passes. He tried at least, not much else to note from other players. Ramsey will get better, he shows great promise.
  3. I wonder that too, vibes are important. Alas, tonight against Sheff. Utd Barkley fails again. He seems clueless with the ball at his feet, ducks out of challenges and looks unfit. He's done, get rid.
  4. I laid off him as many thought he was great against Leeds and we won but I didn't. Tonight again very poor. For me he's a Championship or bottom-level PL player. Tonight against the team bottom of the league he still cannot influence the game, he is too slow, weak, gives the ball away and his passing is inconsistent. McGinn saw a lot of the ball late in the game and really struggled to play anything worthwhile. He's a limited player who IS holding us back.
  5. Typical Villa. As soon as they scored I thought it was game over! Quite an embarrassment, can we send Barkley back please!
  6. Yeah I think Barkley seems mentally unstable and not someone who has the confidence to have his head right week in week out. It's possibly a sad thing to say but this is top level professional sport, we can't just hope the 'right' Barkley will turn up. It's evident he has let us down more times than he has performed. Sorry, you had your chance you blew it!
  7. All started by the alcoholic, red-nosed Ferguson, he was a Master at unsettling players.
  8. I think Villa have had their fingers burned many times buying other teams cast offs, as was correctly said Barkley will never kick a ball again for Chelsea. For £10-15million and as a squad player someone might buy him. I'd rather Villa go and get a £30-40million player in the CAM bracket. The name Rodrigo De Paul has been mentioned a few times, potentially a player of his ilk is a step-up on Barkley.
  9. Emiliano Martinez is a great keeper and I think we are very fortunate as if we in theory we had any other PL keeper in goal for us we might not be doing so well. I noticed today that Martinez has just crept into fifth place of the PL keepers to have saved the most shots. It made me think yes that's good but again we should be cutting some of these shots out and helping him. Again I blame the midfield as many times this season we have been played right through the middle far too easily. We seem to have addressed that against Dirty leeds so there is improvement. Basically I was shocked how many shots he's faced as the top six keepers who are on the list are current bottom four teams, Dirty Leeds and us. It's not company we really want to keep (no pun intended).
  10. I fear Spuds and Arse will have better form than us in the run-in. We are still in with an outside chance but it's a pity for our sakes Wet Spam are having such a good season. Still think we'll end up tenth.
  11. Like others before him Traore is still improving, finding his feet and learning the Villa philosophy. Like El Ghazi, Nakamba, Luiz, Konsa etc hopefully next season he will be settled and play even better. 5 goals in the PL is a good start, I think he should be taking our direct free-kicks too.
  12. It was Hinchcliffe on commentary; I don't know what happened during his playing career but he is anti-Villa. I was literally shouting at my TV, Klich other other hand previously had three or four bad challenges and yet there were no comments about him 'living on the edge'. Commentary often seems a little biased against Villa these days.
  13. Glad I'm not the only one, I had one clue what was going on there either!
  14. I disagree on Targett, the reason he went down wasn't from a push but a leg sweep. It was actually a decent technique if you were in a physical confrontation but really not warranted on a football pitch. Pretty nasty from their player in my opinion and totally uncalled for.
  15. Yes, I noticed that too. It's horses for courses. Watkins did a great job holding up the ball.
  16. Talking of ex-villa, I really like Lee Hendrie as a pundit too. But yeah Dion and Beckford were good tonight.
  17. Even if Jack has an outside chance of being fit for this I'd prefer to see him rested. McGinn too, get Sanson in for a full ninety minutes.
  18. I must say listening to Dean Smith is a breath of fresh air; he's so honest in the way he analyses the game. We get a tactical insight and it is interesting how he mentions we dictated our game plan on them and didn't get embroiled into the basketball match we saw at Villa Park. Glad he was strong enough to bench Barkley, we looked much stronger and together as a team.
  19. I'm glad Smith changed it, Barkley just has no energy. His replacement Ramsey offers us so much more in pace, he's quick too and was tracking back well. Nakamba was awesome, he was unlucky to be dropped after some good performances earlier in the season. El Ghazi was nearly my MOTM, great finish, took players on, tracked back. Seven goals in the PL for him! Mings was MOTM for me, organised the defence, constantly shouting and encouraging the team. A word on DIRTY Leeds, they are so dirty. Klich seems to have the sole role of fouling, barely saw him touch the ball with his feet. Bamford also a moaning, cheating word removed. He's been teaching Llorente a thing or too unfortunately.
  20. I thought he was ok. Players still run past him far too easily, happened a few times too many for me tonight and every match he seems to play.
  21. Dirty Leeds. Klich I didn't see with he ball at his feet, just constantly out of position and making persistent fouls. Llorente seems to have adopted the cheat philosophy of Bamford; the latter who seems to just moan and complain at the referee. Their pitch is a disaster too!
  22. I think we'd be better with him in the starting line-up, seems an obvious improvement on Mcginn.
  23. Yes and I'm surprised it hasn't happened already. Nakamba really has played well when called upon this season, can't fault him.
