  1. Be interesting if Southgate can learn from this. Yes England are OK, four points is good. We must change it for the next game though. The opposition last night weren't worried about playing Gilmour and England should play Bellingham with Phillips. Sterling has been poor for most of the season yet gets a pass for England, it's just not fair. Sterling is greedy and not really that good anymore. Grealish showed more in twenty minutes than Sterling did in the whole match; Grealish won three fouls, an opponent was booked for a foul on him and he made some good runs with the ball. Grealish and Foden out wide. Pity Watkins can't come in for Kane as he looks like his half-fit or carrying a niggle.
  2. After that pile of s*** I can't wait for the PL to start. England are a mess, every tournament it's the same problems and we can never find the magic formula. Kane is obviously injured yet still plays, Watkins would have scored a couple for England in those two matches. Rice I thought had a good season yet seems anonymous for England. Phillips was decent against Croatia but yet against Scotland seemed the slowest player on the pitch. And arguably the best English player doesn't start the match. It's so wrong on so many levels. France or Italy to win the tournament, let's just f*** it off right now. UTFV
  3. Scotland will have a plan and try to keep it tight and create no space for us. In that instance you really need Jack Grealish to run at them and commit their players, they would foul him repeatedly which gives us free-kick opportunities. Madness to not have Grealish playing for this. Come On England!
  4. I heard it mentioned on TV that over 20,000 Scots are coming down...how is that a good idea in current times?!
  5. Past is in the past, move on you sad Mofos!
  6. With his injuries over the last few seasons I (hopefully) can't see anyone paying the £100 million plus to sign him.
  7. Young said in the interview he's fitter now than ever before. If he is, great news for us.
  8. I was surprised at first but it makes sense. Provides cover, experience and a professional player to help the likes of Kesler and other youngsters along.
  9. 20,000 of them coming down so I heard one of them say earlier. Naughty.
  10. A player like Young would have been invaluable I games where we seemed to lack a little experience. I'm thinking last season against the likes of Sheff. Utd and Brighton for example. If we get fifteen games out of him next season and he gets assists and the odd goal it's a good deal. Again his experience around the training pitches and perhaps on free-kicks is a positive for sure.
  11. 3rd richest club in Britain with ease. Arguably we might be 2nd as Sawiris seems to have way more money than we think (however people might also say that about Abramovich). Thing is even if Daniel Ek takes over Arse, Sawiris alone is still worth at least five times more. Exciting times for Villa these next few years.
  12. An experienced player will help Villa massively. I have no idea if he'll be starting games regularly or not, guess it depends on injuries and suspensions. However someone with his savvy might make a difference in games we are expecting to win such as the likes of Brighton, Sheff. Utd, and Burnley. These are the games we'd really need that experience a player like Young would give us.
  13. I once knew a Bulgarian girl, pity they didn't qualify.
  14. A few years ago I watched Bayern Munich play at the Allianz arena. It is amazing for food and drink, you can practically walk around the inside of the ground and from one side to the other and there is so much choice. There's a stand every ten yards practically so everyone can get served pretty quick. Almost impossible at Villa Park due to the way each stand is segregated.
  15. This is where I'm at too. I don't hate him at all, he'd be a great squad player for us if he wants that role. As a first-choice, not for me. Too many mistakes in his game.
  16. A nice post and of course you are very welcome here. I used to support all the Home Nations as a keen footballer myself but... I moved from Birmingham to Aberdeen after school when I was sixteen years old for College and University and then just stayed, I like it here. But if I wore an England shirt around Aberdeen just now I'd get attacked. The Anti-Englishness up here is awful and as a result I've gone the other way now, I just cannot cheer for Scotland at anything. I've had comments made about being English and yes it's a bit of banter but you know it runs deeper! If I was Indian or from Jamaica and someone made those comments or attacked me for wearing their shirt it would be racism. But the thing I still can't get my head around is the Scots tell me it isn't racism at all when in fact it is the same. Now I am not saying all Scots are like this as that is untrue (and I did marry one) it's always a small minority one hopes. Or is it, are they just being careful some of them as it could be defined as racism. In some respects football and politics can bring the worst out of some people. English fans can be 'words removed' too. What has this to do with McGinn? Yeah he's okay, some good things and some bad things but definitely their better player with Robertson. Fully expect them to raise their game and have a go at England but we will soon see.
  17. That is indeed an ethical handgrenade: "here, catch!"
  18. I agree. Again, agreed. Jack Grealish is far better than him and he would have created far more. Thing is Stirling has a good goalscoring record for England which is why he starts.
