  1. It's something i've noticed since last season... Having watched him much closely over the last dozen matches he averages SIX times passing to the opposition.* *But he gets an assist and a goal once every twenty games or so, so he gets a break. If he is playing regularly next season Villa will find it difficult to get into the top half due to his sloppy passes and poor positional sense in the middle. It constantly invites pressure and (some) teams will hurt us as a result.
  2. Think he looks decent myself. With a pre-season under his belt i'm hoping we'll see a better reflection of him on the pitch. Sanson has been in the country only a short time and is adapting, give him time.
  3. I've been criticising him alot of late but credit where it's due Barkley was much better. If he can find some form the last six games it would be good.
  4. Matheus Pereira has 10 goals and Five assists. He was also the best player on the pitch tonight.
  5. Great to see him back. Might get an extra few percent out of Ollie Watkins and Keinan Davies too. Maybe see him for ten minutes in the next game.
  6. Was great for the short time he was on. A Cryuff turn and shot, hits the post and then a goal. I was elated for him, well done Keinan.
  7. For most of this season and last I have been saying just that.
  8. Six times in 45 minutes he gives the ball away. Terrible and unforgiveable regardless of his attributes. Yes I know he chases around but for me he looks poor positionally in the midfield, always looks uncomfortable.
  9. McGinn has given the ball away FIVE times in 26 minutes, incredible!
  10. 5 times in 26 minutes McGinn gives the ball away in the first half against WBA. FIVE times, incredible!
  11. I do not disagree, yet unfortunately it's happening. McGinn is our main culprit but of late many of them seem to be following the trait. Many of them are struggling to pass the ball to a teammate and some can't pass the ball forward (Cash and Konsa). Villa's possession statistics have been shocking of late.
  12. Yeah second-half Konsa was frustrating in not attempting to play the ball forward. But then maybe there were no options or movement, every time the ball went upfield it was intercepted.
  13. Must admit after watching the Man City game I'm quite deflated and I really wonder where the owners are with this project. Again, Villa are Light Years away and it would take massive investment year in year out to get even close. I echo the sentiments of others we really need to sign a higher calibre of player around the £40 - £50million range. Our possession is really awful and at times many of them are scared of the ball and cannot wait to get rid of it.
  14. Sanson is injured. We could effectively relegate WBA on Sunday, surely that is motivation for Villa.
  15. I'm not sure McGinn would be happy as a bench player due o his Scotland aspirations. It's inevitable that he will need to be sold. One of the two major 'Star' signings we need is to replace McGinn; someone who has an eye for goal and importantly one who can retain possession. Villa are so bad at keeping the ball, McGinn chief culprit for sure but he Traore and El Ghazi (when he plays) put us under pressure so often.
  16. Apologies, I was attempting humour with my McGinn to Celtic comment.
  17. He'd love a move to Celtic, offer him to them + £10million for Edouard.
  18. On current form WBA are the better team so I'm expecting another defeat, they are playing very well at the moment. Villa cannot seem to string more than a couple of passes together regardless of who we are playing. I've actually watched every match this season live and I'm honestly considering not bothering as we've been so poor to watch for awhile now.
  19. We'll persevere and then like Veretout and Gana to name a couple, he'll spend his prime elsewhere.
  20. Agreed, I like him honestly I do. As @MaVilla said, he does look overweight and immobile. He costs us every game recklessly giving the ball away.
  21. I waited awhile from posting... Man City are 'light years' away from us, it was actually frightening watching them rip us apart last night. Yes they have a great coach, allegedly one of the best but I'm sure I saw a list recently of how much Guardiola had spent on his defenders alone. Over £500 million (I think). We should not be too despondent, they have spent for ten years and constantly improved. Villa went backwards in those years and it is going to take some time and I am in no doubt Villa need absolute MASSIVE investment. It's the only way. Problem is unless we break into the top four by pure fluke it is not going to happen. We might get into the top eight next season but who knows? I think we are relying on others around us to falter such as Liverplop, Spuds etc to help us get further up the league. This season seemed like an opportunity but unfortunately we did not take the opportunity. Benteke seemed to be close to the exit-door at Palace in January, I still think a six-month contract would really have helped us. I'm sure he would have scored a few with the service and helped us solidify a top ten place. If not Benteke I can't think of a better player to help Watkins out. We are going to get twelfth now as I think Wolves are looking good so they will hunt us down next!
  22. Great to see him score but to be fair it would have been more difficult to miss from there. All-round play again non-existent and he gave the ball away four times which is an improvement (at least) on the six against Liverplop. Against City two of his errors I thought was going to cost us a goal, one especially was really dangerous and reckless play on his part. Still think he's a liabiility and needs to be benched next season.
  23. It seems UEFA are happy to 'move on' and forget. No team, person or business organisation should be above the law. Fines and/or bans from competitions should be made. Allegedly all twelve ESL teams paid £8million each to join in the first place.
