So my brother who has been a functional codeine addict for many years is in ICU. Multi -organ failure and a flesh eating infection they can't treat because he's too weak. Guys/girls....whatever is going in your lives, whatever mess you're in....talk to someone....because the mess you make if you don't is always worse.
  2. Deadline day deal for Adebayor, new CB and a GK and we're good to go.
  3. I'm not really saying that. I'm saying that it's harsh to say that somebody who is a year out of uni and has had 2 jobs in that time has 'jumped around' They used uni in their example to say that I jumped around. That I went from a job before uni (when I was in high school) to uni. That was my grievance with it. My reading of this situation is that they haven't made that judgement/observation of you at all. They just need an excuse that is legal to fob you off with so the real reason you haven't been shortlisted doesn't get them into hot water. I used to do it all the time with candidates I couldn't really justify turning down but I had misgivings about I couldn't use to their face. For example qualified or over qualified candidates who had awful reputations that preceeded them. (Not saying this is the case with you btw)

They do buy back former players, Jordi Alba and Aleix Vidal being recent examples. However this is usually many years later and for mega bucks rather than as a buy back deal. When it comes to the first team Barcelona only buy world class players full stop so if they want him they will have done well out of the deal. I'd also imagine the fee would see us amply compensated. I cannot think of a single example of them buying back a former player to sell on for a profit. I dont think that will happen. It does happen though - which is why Alderwield (or whatever) is at Spurs now instead of Saints. He was loaned to Southampton with an agreement to buy in place, but that agreement was severed and Saints compensated as he was worth so much more money than the agreed price. You are right but what's the difference really between that and our arrangement with Barca? Ok Saints got surprised buttsecks - all we've done is agreed to it in principle within a time period. Anyway enough of this. Lets just agree to enjoy him whilst we've got him.

Also worth noting now with the PL TV deal it will be more likely to happen given that English clubs are disproportionately wealthy compared to their foreign equivalents.

Where did you get that info? Delighted with this signing, gonna be really exciting watching him play. BBC website - although I admit I've paraphrased slightly. 5 year deal. 3 year buyback and then 2 year 1st refusal on any sale. It's not just paraphrasing, you've made that bit in bold up! It says they have a buy-back clause, doesn't say how much for and it certainly doesn't say it's what we paid for him. I know its the internet and you're supposed to argue in great deal over semantics but what I've said is essentially correct. I haven't applied figures either. You can view a buyback clause (which is never going to be @ market rate) as a "thanks for looking after him payment" I'd imagine it would be more than we paid but nowhere near what he was "worth" if they wanted him back.
  7. Not an Employment Lawyer but have been subject to 4 Local Authority restructures in the last 5 years. They can slot her into roles that are directly comparable but any more than a certain % change (25%IIRC) means she would be required to apply the job. They would also have to protect her salary for a period of time if they are giving her a pay cut. If they offer her an alternative post and she refuses she will not be entitled to any redundancy pay because she will have made herself redundant - she will be entitled to something but it depends on the Ts and Cs of her contract. Usually its 1 weeks pay per year worked or something like that after her notice period.

Presumably this is aimed at me. I'd never heard of him before he appeared on this forum so I've no idea how "rated" he is. (Worth also noting that "highly rated" doesn't translate to "good" Freddy Adu was highly rated) All I'm saying is that if he is this sort of Uber wunderkid he'll be gone at the end of the season. If he's as good as the wankfest on here suggests great. I'll enjoy him whilst he's here and he'll take the club forward (which is what I really care about) but I'm not convinced this is a particularly good deal for the club unless is just a good solid pro. I think you've managed to piss on your own chips there Eames. That's what happens when you go for one after giving a facial, sprays all over the shop. Put your dick away and join the party. I saved you some of my chips buddy I LOL'd.

Ok - just seen the Ts and Cs so its basically a 3 year loan deal with Barca to pay our costs for training him if they want him back within that time. Then it becomes a 2 year contract with Barca having 1st dibs on him after that. In order for us to make money on this deal he needs to be mediocre for 3 years followed by an improvement to a level that Barca wouldn't be interested in. :/ Like I've said - I know nothing about him but IMO this is nothing more than a glorified long term loan deal so I'm not going to get all worked about it or fall in love with him.

Never heard of him. Never seen him play. Welcome Adama - no expectations but if one of the big boys comes in for you in 2 years time for £30m+ you'd have done your job for us. No pressure!!
  12. I've always assumed they are two different things. An estimate implies some sort of knowledge, experience or thought process whereas a guestimate is pulling figures out of ones arse.
  13. Overall? Yes, probably. I guess we'll find out when the accounts are released next year, but i'd be very surprised if Lerner had to or chose to put some of his personal wealth into the club this summer. I would be as well - but his decision not to would not make him a "bad" owner IMO. He bought the club as a business - it should be able to sustain itself.
  14. Can it be argued that the club has not been "badly run" at any point. The last 4 years have been about ensuring the club is a self sustaining entity - yes I agree he put the club in that situation, but he has also put it right. The problem he has is that re-structuring a failing business and running a successfully football club are two very different things. Perhaps Lerner could only appoint the managers he did because they were the only ones willing to work under the restrictions he placed upon them - certainly that's why MON left the club in the hurry he did. Perhaps keeping the club in the division whilst spending peanuts four years running can actually be seen as great success? Does it satisfy the fans? No. Absolutely not. Its been horrible, and a disgrace that this club has been in that position. Perhaps he feels able to take the club forward again with the guarantee of a huge cash injection at the end of this season and a business that is on a much more secure footing with a CEO who is acutely aware of the need for the club to grow its commercial revenues and interests in order to not only survive but thrive. Certainly the spending this summer has been protecting his investment if it is still his intention to sell - but some of the stuff Randy did when he first bought the club doesn't get the attention it should have. I do think he cares about the club beyond its profit/loss figures. I suppose what I'm saying is that I'm comfortable if he decides to stay - or if he elects to go.
  15. I can. Oh I can see that we've enquired. I can't see why he'd move in all honesty. Would be chuffed if he does.
  16. My s3 did similar. Buy an external charger for c.£20 and jobs a good in if you don't want to replace the phone. They normally come with a battery as well...so charge one use one.

  19. People using Football Cocking Manager as an analysis tool for potential signings and even worse then using its cocking algorithms to assess his potential in 3/4 years time. ****. Right. Off.
  20. Not usually a fan but that was very good. 8/10. WB
  21. I remember driving a Micra for about a week and it was by an absolute mile the worst car I've ever driven. The lean going around bends was utterly hilarious. They're designed for pensioners. The fun all came from how terrible it was, and in that sense it was a great laugh. Exactly. It embraced its shiteness and ran with it. Ford I believe are of the opinion that the Fiesta is a car to be proud of.
  22. I had a Ford Fiesta as a courtesy car. Sent it back and begged them for something different. What an absolute pile of poorly designed plastic shite. Then they sent me a Nissan Micra with a crazy revvy 3 pot engine. Had an absolute ball chucked that about.
