  1. Nothing new though is it, been like it a while now, even to the point we have fans jumping around singing lets pretend we scored a goal,
  2. What I find crazy is PL saying he does not fit our style, Paul our style is shit, we do not create, score or win, try changing the damn style to suit him and see what happens.
  3. The majority wanted him or a similar man when he joined, we all bought into the project and had hope and expectation. what we could not see was that he would loose confidence in his ideas and play safe. He looks like a beaten man with no idea how to change things. No fan wants him to fail, we all want to see him succeed, to have a successful club who we are proud of, to enjoy watching us play even if we loose, what we can not cope with is so many bad records being produced, a lack of leadership and ideas, an inability to change a game, a reluctance to try something different, turgid football. if another club played like us we would all want them relegated so we did not have to watch that rubbish twice a season, we have to watch it every bloody week and pay in alot of cases a majority of our expendable income for the pleasure. A lot of fans are at their wits end and are filled with apathy We need change, whether it is a change of manager or a change of style doesn't matter, we just want to reach Saturdays with expectation that we can win but more of a hope that we will be entertained and have something positive to discuss over the weekend with mates. We are not MC or Chelski, we know we will not be top six, but we do not deserve or expect this constant fight against relegation and poor performances. Hell we even have fans not giving a damn if we go down in the hope we will see better football in the championship. We are at rock bottom as a club and fan base and need something to rekindle the flames of passion for our club.
  4. To be a bit positive may help, to sound like he knows what he is doing, to try and gee up the team and fanbase by giving us hope it will change, a simple we need to find a way to change it does not instill me with confidence.
  5. That interview has done him no favors, sounded like a man with no plan, where is the comment it will change and we are turning the corner, he looks defeated and out of his depth,to say Liverpool and Arsenal are only just above us is pathetic, do they look like a relegation fighting team, do they know how to pass and score, do they play shite defensive tripe, we are poles apart and to use them to make us look as if we are not as bad as people think is deluded, This is the worst squad, team and tactics I can remember, I can not remember a time as a fan where we did not go on a Saturday expecting a win or a good game. enough is enough, either change tactics and have a go at teams or get the hell out.
  6. I do not think it will be long before PL is forced to change the style, Falling crowds, negative press, bad statistics, everything is pointing to him being shown the door sooner rather than later. Bad results we can cope with, poor football and negative tactics - never. Lets see how we set our selves up against the mighty Burnley, No excuses, if he does not go for it against them then I will be among others shouting from the roof tops for him to go. We just have not got any balance in the team, we buy players and sit them on the bench, Is Cole really not good enough to play in this team? Why? the list of players he has brought and not used is ridiculous, My biggest concern is there is no plan, no improvement, no confidence, a lack of movement and vision from the players, Something at the club is very wrong and needs sorting. Players have to know if they do not produce they are dropped, there is no evidence of this with certain players who can do no wrong.
  7. As a fan it is easy to forget that football is a job to players, a way to get enough money in a 12 year spell to last a life time, Loyalty does not come in to it, agents are there to help them get the money and give them the best advice on how to get the best deals. As fans it is hard to accept but if offered the same job at another company for alot more money how many of us would refuse? They want to play with the best players in the best team and win trophies, I do not feel the need to slam them for wanting to progress their careers, It is nothing new, We lost Platt to a team that was no better than us but offered more money and conditions, It has always been this way and will continue to be like this, as fans we do not see them as employees, Why do we feel he owes us anything because he was injured, If the club could get out of paying wages to injured players then they would. eventually football will be like any other job where you sign a contract of employment like in any other job and leave when you want like any other job. The only restrictions will be ones made by the leagues like only playing for 1 or 2 different teams in a year or only one team in a cup. Transfer fees will be a thing of the past This although bad for fans is how it should be really and will benefit clubs and players alike especially if relegation occurs. We have to stop looking at players and thinking of them as ours when they do not have an affinity to the club, we should just enjoy it when we get to see good players play for us how ever short lived.
  8. Whilst I can understand and appreciate the circumstances he works in there are just too many negatives for me, The lack of movement, the lack of width, the lack of concentration, the glazed caught in the headlight look of a few of our players the loss of possession, the poor passing, the shit throw ins and corners. These things even with poor players are things that can be improved on the training ground and should have been by now. I can take a loss it happens but it is the manner of the loss that gets to me, how many of us knew we would lose after CB got sent off?. We score a goal the sit back, this happens consistently as we hope to hit teams on the break, we have no killer instinct, no drive, no leaders, no plan B. As much as I like PL as a person theres just no excuse for our performances and the team mentality.
  9. It is not the possession though is it, we have the ball pass it round the middle then back to the keeper or to the other team. The biggest gripe is we can not break a team down who dont attack us. we are a counter attacking team who rely on hitting on the break, great against the better teams but ineffective against the others, teams have learned to sit back and hit us on the break knowing they can defend us without breaking a sweat. we have no width, creativity or players who can play 1 touch football and break through a defence, well thats wrong we do but they dont get picked. We need to change our style of play and formation. this is evident to most fans but PL does not seem to see it which is why he is getting stick. I like him as a person but as a manager it is not working, It can be done on little money as most lower league teams have shown us in the cup, We have a problem and it needs addressing quickly, Either PL shapes up or ships out.
  10. I am fed up to the back teeth with hearing how we have had a good start but played the top sides etc. Where did we have a good start, yes we got points on the board but at the same time we were not creating chances, an any other day we could have lost them games. I see nothing that shows me we can move on. We reward average players with new contracts, sorry but Gabby should have been shown the door, he aint good enough, only plays well for one or two games and does not bust a gut despite being a so called fan. We hire journey men on high wages who just want a pay check to see them till they retire. the club stinks from top to bottom, why run your self into the ground when you know you will be on the team sheet whatever you do. PL does not know how to change things, he tried the all out attacking plan and we got spanked, he is now trying to play defensive but has lost the attacking side. he is devoid of ideas, He has the players at his disposal to change things but does not use them either at all or to their strengths. I was in the give him time camp but now I have turned, enough is enough he has to go, just how many bad records is he trying to break, we are a joke, any person who knows football can see CB needs crosses to succeed, yet we have no width, Too many times we see the players have the ball in the middle and have to pass back due to lack of forward player movement, these are inexcusable facts and are 100% down to the manager. Can you imagine any other manager putting up with the disinterest the team show. He wont be sacked but then again he wont jump either as who the hell else would employ him with the CV he has made himself here at VP.
  11. 3-1 to us, Gabby 1 Teckers 2. keep the faith.
  12. Fills me with confidence for the future, I could understand why RL wanted to sell, he was out of his depth and sinking fast loosing both money and the fans, I can see how he is now more optimistic and enthused. Mr Fox could just be the missing link that we have been craving, a business man who also knows football. To talk about CL at this moment would be foolhardy and pie in the sky and I respect his honesty, We may just be on the way back up again, Maybe RL with this new enthusiasm may just release the purse strings and things will change and turn out to be the best owner for the job, after all we were all fully behind him when he came, he just got carried away and we all know the result, this time we have Mr Fox who can orchestrate it correctly for the club and take the pressure off him.
  13. I lost faith in PL at the end of last season and I am at the open mind stage now, We all know confidence is the big difference between doing well and failing, the new players have boosted our confidence and I hope it continues and the team start to play more football, even if we start to loose the confidence then it will be reinvigorated with the return of the beast. This will be a good season for us and hopefully PL will be able to grow the side from a positive position rather than the poor state we have been in. It was right to give him the extension as this stability will hopefully enable us to get the other players to sign up. Love PL or hate him we all want the same thing and that is a good side that actually look like they can win a game. sometimes it just takes the 1 catalyst to change things at a club and kick start a run. how far the run goes we dont know but we will all enjoy the trip.
  14. It will be interesting watching Keano give Wenger the eye, we will be up for this and i reckon 2-1 to us.
  15. See this is how we can help you stop falling over all the time.
  16. Getting a good feeling about this match, if we can hold them for the first 25 then anything is possible. Think TC may shine in this if he is picked.
  17. Even if he did want to go to Everton, so what, he probably wanted to join a club he could help get to europe next year, we are not honestly close to that yet. We are an upcoming team and Everton are almost there. who can honestly blame him. now he is with us we get behind him.
  18. Welcome Tom, Hope it goes well for all our sakes.
  19. Superglue - sticks to his man Mortar, holds our defense together,
  20. Totally the wrong time to even think of getting rid. Alot of people myself included sometimes have to step back and think before shouting. I was mad last week, not because we lost but the way we lost, dropping players again for a cup match - 7 changes enforced by injury or not, tippy tappy lets go backward football, slowing the game down when upping the tempo would have torn them apart. The tactics, lack of subs and the general could not give a damn about the cup got attitude to me. I still think he has a lot to learn and should be quicker to react to opposition changes. The reason Hull improved second half was they switched to four at the back, this allowed their midfield a bit more freedom and seemed to suit them. We waited until we were under the cosh to change it round, we should have made a change earlier and kept the pressure on them. It will take until Christmas to see if we have genuinely improved and where we stand.
  21. If picked my money would be on Bent to score today, yes he missed the chances on Wednesday but after thinking about it since he still managed to get the chances in the first place, law of averages says he will bury one if presented with a similar chance.
  22. Most of us would jump at the chance of Martinez managing us yet he also wants the player at Everton, If he is such a bad player would this really be the case or is it the managers can see things we dont.
  23. Not sure on where he will play but the lad has a shot and a pass in him, he is quick thinking and hard working, not sure on Westwood, not a bad player but he is not moving us on, I think Keano has a hand in this and we may be pleasantly surprised.
  24. Hope this happens, will be a great signing. tried and tested and will go straight in the first team. Amazing how players like him are always knocked but when they are not in the team are really missed.
  25. It does though. in the context of the last few years we needed a cup run to bring the fans back on side, yet again we are dumped out by supposedly lesser opposition.
