Why would they accept an offer less than or equal to ours? if they did then he would have every right to complain and be allowed to join us.

At the end of the day it is their player under a contract to them, CB put in a transfer request and we did not want him to leave either, At the time we were not pleased with Spuds so why should Norwich not be mad with us, we are both teams trying to survive in this division and neither has a right to damand to have a player just because they want him and the player wants to go. although I will be disapointed if we dont get him I can fully understand their stance, as for how much he is worth then that is up to the selling club to decide not the buying club. We offered what we thought he was worth or how much we were prepared to pay and they said it was not enough. either we meet there valuation or move on, If another team meets the valuation they have set and they accept then why does this have to be seen as a personal attack on us.

I remember very many moons ago when Peter Shilton came to Villa after his affair became public, the shouts of Tina, Tina Tina was hilarious and it really got to him, if I remember even the press picked up on it.

Makes you wonder though how he would have coped in todays game where players are faster and bigger, whilst he relied on great football intelligence at reading the game people forget he did not train in the week due to his knees. He may not have been as good in todays game where it is more about speed and tactics.

Nothing wrong with finances. Owners decision and he's the issue. Then there surely must be a bloody good reason he is trying to fubar his investment as it is starting to wear thin now. things should be getting better not worse. SI supposed to be going and others loaned out. it just does not make sense.

Lets be realistic, we aint gonna sign anybody over 7M and certainly not on over 30k p/w so we need to stop dreaming. even loans will probably have to be part financed. it really is a worry that our club are becoming beggars and almost a championship level club. Just how bad are our finances now that we pay this low and can not compete.

sometimes though better players can be billy big boots and be detrimental to the team, PL has said he likes experienced pros but they have to be the right ones. I still believe it is not PL controling who he wants but RL. I think DB9 was the straw that broke the camels back and one of the main reasons RL has withdrawn funds.

another thing is why can the strikers we have that we think prem standard (ok pushing it here) Fonz Moore bros etc fail when going down a level.

Funny thing is these players who are lower league dont seem to have much problem scoring past our prem defence. In all honesty he may struggle against the top teams but generally below 10th the defences are pretty shite anyway. aNYWAY HOW MANY OF OUR FORWARDS ARE HONESTLY PREM STANDARD I.E INTERNATIONAL LEVEL

In the old days the FA cup meant something financially. it was an extra income that helped clubs survive. nowadays it has lost the significance due to the money involved in the Premier League, The Champions league is now the second priority for clubs again because of the money and status. Unless the financial rewards or incentives are changed for the FA cup then it will soon be seen as obsolete by the big clubs. PL is right in what he says and I do not think he was talking about AV specifically but generalising.

Watch him closely and you see why we are better with him, he constantly pushed the defense out and was organising them. a leader we need on the pitch. This is also wht PL needs to get experienced players in midfield too. its the concentration and organisation we need especially if things dont go to plan,

Agree about the concentration but I also feel confidence has alot to do with it. towards the last 15 I thought they knocked it around well and seemed happy in there selves almost as if they almost had that belief that we would win if you know what I mean. I feel alot happier after today and hope that we dont go to far backwards after the Arsenal and Liverpool.

Whilst the possession was low it should be noted most of their possession was in their own half and we let them get on with it. For all their possession there was probably only 3 or 4 clear chances to our 7 or 8. we looked like we had it under control hence their frustration.
