  1. He was best of a bad bunch, loose passing, moments of stupidity with tackling. to be honest he is only just above average and is only in the England side due to injuries to others. I will keep my judgement on this till we see who comes in and how we play.
  2. Benteke is more than good enough to score 15-20 goals for Liverpool. He'd be a god up there because they are so starved of any decent footballers. Is he though, he is a good player but not the most mobile, they love forwards like Suarez and Tores. capable of creating their own chances, fast, quick feet, and extremely fit. Andy Carrol and Lambert are similar to CB and look what happened there. they just do not play to the strengths of these forwards. How many games have we seen CB strolling round throwing a strop if it isn't working for him, with the media spot light on him it could work or it could be catastrophic for him. Hell of a risk for a player that will not even involve the champions league he desires.
  3. Would be the biggest mistake CB could make going to them, he has a team here that plays to his strengths, he probably only really shines on average 1 in 3 games but it is less visible with us. He would be in the spotlight in a team that plays in a different style that the forwards have to have loads of movement. He will be under immense pressure and serious fan and media criticism.
  4. Liverpool are words removed, want the top wack payment for their players but want to buy players at their own valuation, they need to realise that in the Prem they are not even in the top 4 clubs.
  5. May not be a bad thing if it is the Chinese, massive market to improve our finances and following,
  6. Good enough for the top half of the league. good enough to put a shift in, good enough to find space and call for the ball, good enough to beat the first man when crossing, good enough to see out a game, good enough to tackle rather than foul, good enough to shoot and actually hit the target, good enough to actually be hurt if substituted,I think you know what I mean by good enough.
  7. TS is right though, it is obvious to anybody looking at our club that the players we have are just not good enough, there is no fight, no passion, he did not say they were losers he said the have a loser mentality, too many times have we seen sloppy passing, lack of tracking players, bad marking, walking round the pitch, we have to get players who refuse to lose, will put their body on the line to get points, we just have no fight or movement, TS as manager takes the blame for this, why should it be his fault if players do not follow simple instructions or put the effort in. It has gone on for too long and it needs to change.
  8. It is not a meltdown to state the obvious, 50% or more of our squad are not good enough, we have too many players taking money who will not figure in the first team, we got alot of players in for little money as backup for injuries. you only have to look at our bench to see we have no players that can come on and change a game. Part of TS job application would have been to analyse the squad and explain how he will improve things. If you was in charge of the club you would not be happy aying 10 - 20k per week to people who do nothing for you. This I think has been RL biggest problem. Get a player who will improve things and play alot of games and he will finance it but you also have to ship out the dross taking a wage. Tonev, Bent, Gardener etc how many of these type players do we have?
  9. Lets be realistic, Arsenal yesterday would have beaten any team, there is a reason they are up the top end of the league, With this squad we are a lower half team and it showed, TS can be blamed for alot of things but not all of it, we went back to PL days yesterday with players stationary, poor passing, not tracking runners, poor marking, dropped heads, this has been the story of the last four years. He tried to change it and to a point succeeded but the Southampton result sent us back again. It is as he said an inbuilt mentality in some of the players and yes I would agree they are losers. We should have been running through walls yesterday to get a result but the players just accepted their fate. Bar one or two players yesterday they should hold their head in shame, Some of these players may never get to Wembley again. TS is right and we need a clear out and new personnel bringing in to eliminate this thinking, As good as CB is we only have him up front and are very predictable and easy to work out tactics against, we have no plan B and with the personnel we have available this will not change. I am fully behind TS and hopefully so is RL and TF.
  10. They can keep Lambert, had enough of him last time.
  11. Is he going to the meeting tonight as he is over here now?
  12. Think alot of today can also be put down to FA cup syndrome, players believed they were safe, they did not put 100% into today not wanting an injury, It may also be a poor match next week unless Sherwood drops a few and plays others with a point to prove. I can understand this mentality and it has been seen with other teams throughout history. Just forget today and lets look forward to the final and next season.
  13. is it the best form of defence is attack, we have showed earlier in the season we can not defend a lead, at least we put the other team on the back foot.
  14. think it will be between Slumberland and Nukeastle.
  15. Yep - he's done everything right - Damm that League Table. Bet if you did a league table of all teams in the last six games it would make interesting reading.
  16. To say he is living off the bounce at the moment is a bit unfair, he came into a club at rock bottom, no confidence, passion, poor tactics, no unity in the fan base, it took him 2 weeks to start seeing an improvement in the team, he has got us firing, great football, goals, players smiling again, the crowd rocking, confidence through the roof, the only negative is the defense, with all the injuries we have had it is amazing we can actually field a defense. He deserves a lot more credit than he is getting, can he deliver over a season well time will tell, it depends if he is backed in the transfer market, if we keep our best players and how we do with injuries. He has totally won me over with his attitude, confidence and desire and I can not wait till next season as I dont think we will be near the bottom again.
  17. To be fair to him Guzan asked for 4 in the wall and he was an extra there to track the runner if he went, The fault was Baccuna who if he stood strong could have stopped the shot or deflected it wide.
  18. Man City- 3-0 loss Everton 2-1 Win West Ham 2-0 Win Southampton 1-1 draw Burnley 3-1 Win
  19. Think the tv companies may now regret dropping this game, probably one of the most exciting I have seen for a while, even when we went 2-3 you could feel we would get another 1 or even 2.
  20. don't underestimate how he is now enjoying playing with a system that suits him and how happy he seems, he will score bucket loads with this style and this may just sway him to stay for another season.
  21. New manager bounce is overstated, it is just players upping their game to ensure they are picked. TS has had to come in, change the mood of the players, change the style of play create a team spirit, reinvigorate the fans and the club etc. All this whilst having the injury list from hell, I can not understand this huff and puff comment as I watched some fantastic football at times with great movement, we just have to cut out the sloppy passing and losing the ball in stupid places. I also can not understand this calling for Gill as if he is a messiah, there is obviously a reason he is not picked, one we are not aware of but if rumors of him storming off last night are true then this may be part of it.
  22. We could play it tight and try for a 1 - 0 but what happens if we go behind, The football we are playing will create alot of chances and we will win more games. The players are loving it, even CB was smiling last night, With better defending we will be fine. I know which football I prefer to watch, Sherwood is not naive or stupid, he has turned a doomed team into a happy team,we have a dreadful injury list that is forcing the team selections on him, he has created team spirit, got players firing again, In my opinion he needs congratulating not all this negativity, I love his passion and honesty, and yes it is infectious.
  23. We all feel down that we got a draw, the main thing to take though is we showed fight and came back twice, QPR were on a high after last week and were never going to roll over, the second half was down to tiredness, players returning from injury or not up to match fitness having to fill in. We have to be realistic and understand our defence is makeshift and will improve as players return from injury. We will win more games this season. At this stage results are erratic and there will always be shocks, ask Man C fans about last weekend. It was a great match to watch, one we should have won, cut out the poor defending and we will be fine. I would rather be in our position than Hull, Burnley or Leicester.
