No hate from me, i`m just very suprised that Everton spends massive amounts on fairly mediocore players, and then you buy old players on top of that on probably even higher wages. This is a road Villa have travelled down in the past, and well it really didn`t work out for us. I don`t see it as realistic that you can recoup any particular helpful amounts of money from sales, though Davies probably has some resale value. Unless you break through and atleast secure Europa league, and supporters are allowed back soon, i think Everton might be in some real economic difficulties come next summer. Before this summer window you already had 85 % of income going to wages, and thoose numbers probably don`t account for the full effects of Covid.

I really wonder if the accountants at Everto has a real university degree. They will most likely start the season with Allan, Delph, Sigurdsson, James, Gomes, Gbamin, Tom Davies and Doucoure as central midfielders. 8 player who all are likely on quite high wages. They had before they aquired Allan, James and most likely Doucoure the highest wage to turnover rate of the 30 biggest clubs in the world. Unless the Covid situation resolves it self quickely i can only imagine that Everton will have to have a BIG firesale in the near future.

I only saw the first half, but everything he tried he failed at. He couldn`t beat a man to save his life. As someone else pointed out, he`s not been up to his own standards since the Spurs game. Maybe try him on the bench against the best teams, and save him more for the games we could have a chance on paper to get points. He was our worst on the pitch. If a player can`t run, it doesn`t matter that he is usually the supreme player of the squad. There is no excuse for keeping him on, when you are a professional manager.

It was a idiot decision to let Jack finish the game. He was the weakest player for most of the game, one thing was if he was crooked but influential in the match, but when he is injured and playing badly he should be strait off

without being hyperbole, i think he must surely be PL`s slowest player by some distance. There was one moment he had atleast 10 m headstart to the ball, and the ball was only 10 meters away, still he lost the running duel. But somehow i still think he is better than the duo of nakamba and luiz because then our midfield is non existent for much of the game. We had much more possesion then we usually have with him in it. Don`t ask me how, becuase i can`t understand it myself.

I want him to start in the league cup, and unless he can impress the same as the two last matches, i want him as an impact sub the next couple of games in PL. I don`t think he is ready to start matches, but my god how god isen`t he when he comes on for 35-30 min against semi-tired legs

I`m really suprised as to how hard is to get him off the ball in a running duel without fouling him. Many a defender has tried to push him off the ball, to no luck. Kinda remind me of Rooney in that regard. His balance and strength on the ball is really world class. Wouldn`t bet him to push any big strong CB or ST off the ball, but i would always bet on him being able to withstand their push when he is on the ball himself. That is what makes him so great at ballcarrying. He often runs along the opposition with the ball, rather than dribble past them.

Iffy Udanoh, which seemed to be a lot of buzz around when we got him in the summer, has seemingly left and now joined stoke. Wonder if we released him, or if he wanted a new challenge?

I really hope we save Grealish and Mings for the PL, imagine what a injury to them (especially Grealish) would cost us. Then we will guaranteed start the next season in the championship.

If you look at the opposition he scored against, they are not exactly great teams, bar Arsenal in the final. Yes i agree he is better than Wesley at holding the ball up, but i fear he is a lot slower, and just look at how bad Chelsea was when they relied on Giroud against West Ham.

We really struggle with the opposition playing a very high backline since Wesley never threathened with speed or scary runs behind the defenders and Grealish is also no speed demon despite all his other great assets. Imagine we substitute Wesley with an even more static player in Giroud. Unless we brought in two lighting quick wingers with the intelligence to make runs in behind, and move Grealish in central, our already weak midfield would be pressed to bits by having the opposition swarming the midfield with midfielders and defenders alike.

I would be really happy with Karlan Grant. Think he is a guaranteed 12 + goals striker, which we can get without breaking the bank probably. Either him or Watkins would be really nice from the championship. Cyriel Dessers from Heracles in the Eredivisie is also looking like an exciting prospect, 12 goals and 5 assist playing as the front man in a 4-3-3 system. So he will be used to playing as an alone front man. Only thing scary with Eredivisie players that for every suarez, there is 2-3 Vincent Janssens.

i really struggle to see what Lansbry brings, i never notice when he is on the pitch (exception being when he scored against CP), he is not bad because i would notice that but he doesn`t contribute with anything positive either. It really amazes me actually, because i`m not kidding, he really is invisible when on the pitch

Callum has 8 starts and 1 goal to show for in the premier league so it`s a big stretch to say he has made it in PL, Enda stevens was 21/22 when we bought him from Shamrock, so definetively not our youth product.

We lack aggression, many times when there was a chance to win a second ball, or even the first duel, our players stood passively, awaitin for the ball, while the Chelsea players went in 100 % to win the ball. Also our pressing was non-existing in their half for most of the game, why we played like that, i can only wonder. Pressing, and limiting the opposition time and space on the ball is the modern footballs bread and butter. I thought Konsa was good at some aspects today, he generally looked at the right place at the right time, one massive exemption was Abrahams goal, were he already gave up when the pass was made. This ws my main gripe with him today, and the rest of the squad, the lack of aggression, he could have went into Abraham, and if not winning the duel pressing him enough so that he didn`t get the free header, instead he was to occupied with signaling for offside. With VAR i think defensive coaches should always tell the players to ignore signaling for offside, and assume it`s not, since it will be reviewed anyways so you don`t have to signal anymore. I don`t think he would have won the header, but i think he could have interupted Tammy enough so his header was weaker, and less likely to be a goal.

Them losing Mctominay is a big, big plus for us. The combination of Pereira and Fred in midfield is the equivalent of our midfield duo of C. Sanchez and Westwood, as you can imagine quite disastrous. Hopefully Mcginn steps up his game today, then our midfield of Hourihane, Nakamba and Mcginn should run that midfield ragged, with Grealish drifting in to the space between midfield and defence.
