  1. I`m I right in thinking that one of Newcastle`s goals against in the season opener was quickly checked for offside, and they also didn`t bother to draw the lines? Or maybe it was an offside ruled goal for us? Anyone remember a similar occurence for us? I thought at the time that the decision seemed kinda correct, but was quite annoyed that they didn`t show the lines, because then at least i would feel more comfortable the decision was infact correct
  2. I guess this guy is not coming? Are we missing out by not getting this guy instead?
  3. This is what i observed too, i don`t understand the people here saying he wasn`t any worse than anyone else, and had an OK game etc.. Just watch the first goal and see what kind of impact he has on the team. It`s an insult for him to be making more in one year than most people make in a lifetime, when this is the effort he gives to the team. He was great in the start of the season, since we took teams by surprise, and he was only responsible for getting in good positions on the counter and break away attacks we had. Now other teams have figured us out, and we are not afforded the same room for quick counter-attacks, and thus he is almost worth-less to the team. Especially since he can`t dribble or pss for shit these days, so many of our attacks break down since he just spins (slowly) around his own core before passing straight into the legs of the opponent, and gives them the ball
  4. 100 % his fault the first goal, look how he jogs after Maddison, before eventually giving up, then Maddison scores becuase he is completely free from our midfield marking
  5. I wish he would be less petulant. I feel lately he has been to sulky, and at times seem disinterested unless he himself is involved in play. Don`t get me wrong, he is INCREDIBLE, but i think he often reaches the next level when he looks fired up, and engaged in the game, rather than when he just looks agrieved that he is not as involved as he wants to be. Also think he was leaving Targett to isolated in defence today, many times it looked like Targett would need to defend alone
  6. If we were forced to play Tottenham or they get a walk-over, then naturally they would need to give us a walkover victory over Newcastle, and Everton over City etc. Because the presedence set is that teams have been able to get matches postponed becuase of a covid outbreak in the squad. It would be quite scandalous if we were subject to different rules than other teams
  7. I thought it was embarrasing the dive, and it was a weird reaction from him. Other than that, if we had a striker who converts chances into goals at the same rate as Haaland or Lewandowski, Grealish would have easily more than double digits assists.
  8. I felt he was guilty of being way to slow on the ball every time he got it. Time and time again when we were in dire need of attacking fast, he slowed down, and made sue that West Ham had at least 10 players between the ball and the goal. Thought he was very ineffective.
  9. i just looked through the highlights that were available for U23 matches on the OS, and JPB seemed to feature a lot in the highlights. Thought it`s weird that he seems to start on the bench more often than not, since he seemingly seems to be a key figure when we play good. Might be that he can go missing a lot during games, which naturally would not show up in highlights
  10. He really up`ed his game after the intervall, but i did think he was quite wasteful with his passing in the first half. More than once he missed an excellent opportunity to pass to Watkins. I think we are still quite dependent on Grealish performing, to get something out of games. If there is anything he needs to improve in his game is that he needs to be at his peak concentration levels through the whole 90 min, which is exactly what Villa as a team needs to improve on as well.
  11. Mings is pathetic there, why not jump? if he jumped there would not be a goal

    Matty Cash

It certainly was not his fault that we lost. We had no midfielders today. Trez was nowhere, and Ross completely dross. Mcginn and Dougie was merely simple pawns being left for dead time after time by Klich and Shackelton. Sad that today our midfielders didn`t even reach Leeds 3rd choice defensive midfielder to the knees even.
  13. Anyone knows the meaning behind the A sign he and Barkely celebrated with?
  14. Our average age in the match was 18,15, Readings`s was 18,79
  15. if he is listed as a trialist, does it mean he is still with WBA, and if we don`t try to take him off WBA`s hadns then he returns to them?
  16. waaayy to casual yesterday, he looked like he didn`t care for most of the game. The prime example was his backheader, where he just stood and watched, while Taylor had do try his best in covering for Mings fault. Wish he could instead show the passion he had when he f.ex. shouted at El Ghazi for his lack of defending. Also thought he was sometimes lazy in his marking yesterday. I think he is a top defender, but he lack the concentration levels of the very best defenders, and just because it`s a cup no one cares about and a league 1 team, he should still treat the game with 100 % commitment and respect as the Villa shirt demands.
  17. Much improved second half Grealish was to quiet in the first, hard to say if he was quiet because we were struggling, or the other way around. Second half i think Villa was the strongest team, for a change. We tended to struggle quite a bit the second half when we were 1 goal up in the season that was
  18. much improved second half, as some has said. Villa on the front foot.
  19. out of a 100 times, United would lead after the first half 99 times. We were totally out of pace. They should really been up by 5-6 goals. Cash probably our weakest link, Luke Shaw is like Messi against cash, the sunday league player. Steer by far our best, and i like Trez for his enthusiasm and optimism if you can call it that. Even though he plays more like a rabid dog, than a skillfull winger. Mcginn would really benefit from a new physical regime, he looks laboured sadly
  20. after 30 min it could very easily been 4-1 to Manu, we were very fortunate to be leading at this time
  21. I really hope we are not thinking of selling Grealish, and they try to appease us fans by buying a lot of nice sounding players. Sadly i really struggle to see where all the money comes from, if that is not the case.
  22. anyone have a video of the tackle? I tried searching for it on youtube, came up short.
