Guzan, Okores, Sanchez and CB is a backbone to build on. I know its not the right day, but with a couple of inspired signings in the Jan window, we could be comfortably be a top 10 team

Thought he was poor. We lack an out and out attacking midfielder, a la Merson, who tries to hurt the opposition.Sanchez and Delph offer a good base for such a player to be included.Cleverley is just ok, no more no less.Not worth £8m though.

Bang on Carew. Much as i am not convinced by PL, unless he is given the opportunity to buy at least 2 reasonable attackers, then i think it will be difficult to judge him properley.

Someone on here said last week that you could argue that PL has done his job.Removed the big earners, stripped it right down, and put the framework of a reasonable team , with minimal investment. I think that is partially true, but for us to move up we need to replace Weimann, N'Zog, Gabby.We offered nothing going forward today, and despite having a man sent off, wasn't too uncomfortable defensively, but we haven't got much options in forward positions.Weimann tries, and works hard, and will get you the odd goal, but hes not quality, nor is Gabby, and nor is N'Zog, and the jury is out on Cleverley. If we want to challenge for Europe then we need at least 2 new attacking players, and thats before we sell CB. I got shot down on here 2 years ago by suggesting we need to replace Gabby and Weimann, i think its fairly obvious now.

Was happy when he signed, but hes never done it at VP tbh, and needs to be moved on. When is his contract running out? Start Joe Cole, if fit, with Delph , Sanchez and Cleverley, when all fully fit.

So on record Steffan, you don't think Ings is worth a £3m gamble? Bent is going, so in theory we have that money spare.Time will tell. It appears to me that every time someone disagrees with you they are pathetic, idiotic, or stupid.Either that or you are just a bit pompous.

Yorkie on Sky said we was too safe in the 1st half, and much better in the 2nd.We had more chances in the 2nd because we moved the ball forward quicker, and injected pace into the midfield.Now i'm not saying Richardson is our answer to our midfield , but i think he made a difference yday.

Apparently Ings could be available for about £3m as he is out of contract in the summer. Now Bent is out of contract in the summer, Ings , for me has a bit of Robbie Fowler about him, good touch in front of goal, doesn't panic, good movement.Offer him Bents wages and a 5 year contract, he will be that good. I'd also look at getting Damari Gray from the Bloose as well.

I can't believe we would pay £8m for a player who will cost nothing in the summer. Delph is a better player imho, and would we expect anyone to pay £10m plus for him in Jan, no way. A reasonable player Cleverley, doesn't score enough to be an attacking midfielder, not creative enough to be the QB role midfielder, not physical enough to be the defensive midfielder.Not a bad player, but imho if he is costing £8m, then i would be looking at other players. He is a s good as we have got atm, but for me only Sanchez and Delph are decent midfielders in the current squad.

Swap Dembele for Delph, buy Ings, get a good quality attacking midfielder on loan/bosman, all for a relatively small investment, and if we have any money, buy Sigurdsson from Swansea.

We played better 2nd half, and that was partly down to Richardsons pace and energy, and also the fact that he breaks into the box.The midfield of Sanchez, Cleverley and Westwood actually had a good balance about it.We missed Cleverley when he went off, but you could argue that Joe Cole is even better there. Get a young Joe Cole alongside Delph and Sanchez, we haven't got a bad midfield.

Better in the 2nd half Stan, moved the ball quicker, and Cleverley found some good positions, quality ball to Gabby, and should have scored.For me behind Joe Cole in that position, but with Sanchez starting to lokk good, and Delph on his way back, looking better.

Dear me, would love Januzaj.

Top quality player. Worth at least £30m, and hopefully we can have another season off him.Sell him the summer after next.

I'm a fan Isa, but i don't think hes ready yet for a start.Makes the wrong choice too often, but that will come.Has a good touch, is good on the ball, just pure execution at times, but that cross to CB shows he has real quality. Bring him on later in the season, but not yet imho.

Great cross for CB. Has quality, but not up to the pace of the Prem yet, but has all the attributes to be a good player.He can spot a pass, i'll give him that, just needs to concentrate on the execution of the pass.

I thought we missed him when he went off.He is the only midfielder we have who can find that gap between attack and midfield, we struggled to adapt when he went off. I thought the midfield of Cleverley, Richardson and Sanchez has a better balance, more pace, and play the ball quicker.Bring Delph in and its not too bad.

MOM for me, looks a real prospect. We struggled with Woods height in the 2nd half, but overall i think he looks a really good player.Attacks the ball well, and tries to win the ball on the halfway line, i like that.

Apart from CB, my favourite Villa player, although Okores isn't far behind, At the risk of getting slagged off, but for me the midfield looked a better balance with Sanchez at the back and Richardsons running off the ball. Have to say Sanchez does tire the last 10 mins though.

A few things worry me about PLs decisions Stevo. Okores was 5th choice, mainly because PL didn't obviously rate him.Sometimes he was out of the squad entirely.Now as you say that is his right, but having seen Okores twice, not only is he obviously ready, but you could argue, given a few games, he could turn out to be our best CH.Now that in my view is bad judgement. Then you have his treatment of Sanchez,Westwood, Gabby, Grealish, and maybe the fact that after 3 seasons in charge, we play the kind of dirge from last night, then i think i have good reason to question PLs decisions.

I was a big fan of Yorke, but imho CB is better.Got everything, hopefully for him, and us in a way, will be playing for RM or Barca in a couple of years time.

Makes you wonder why he has been out the team for so long.He does make mistakes, but he is young, and potentially very good.Would imho benefit from playing alongside Vlaar short term, and probably Baker long term. If he continues to impress, then i would try and get some money for Vlaar in Jan. Some of PLs judgements do worry me, this lad looks easily ready foe PL football, and in truth is probably our best central defender.Yes he does make mistakes, but his power and more importantly his pace, will easily make up for mistakes he is likely to make.
