  1. Agree. I'd rather those that booed at half time when it was 0-0 stayed at home. Hardly surprising the players look edgy at times. Cardiff came to us on the back of a derby win with pretty much a fully fit squad whereas we had 5 key players unavailable. Bacuna MOTM although Vlaar, Clark and Sylla were good. Can't understand the criticism of Sylla given that he's had limited game time. Both he and Benteke looked rusty so hopefully the 90 mins will do them both good. Couldn't see the point of Bowery coming on. He's not a natural striker as he had a chance to pull the trigger when on goal, hesitated and passed instead. That's not the instinct of a natural striker. Wold've preferred Helenius to get a few more minutes as I feel he's a much better prospect at this level. It's great to get 3 points but ironic that the performance against Everton was better but yielded nil points.
  2. Spot on Mark. He's improved a little from last season but not effective enough for me to warrant a start.
  3. Gradually improving each game. Put in a couple of decent crosses that had someone gambled on going to the near post, may have resulted in attempts on goal.
  4. thing about Gareth was he never had pace so didn't have it to lose. He always relied on his brain and I would agree it us something we could definitely do with now Gaz Baz would've bought invaluable experience to our midfield but let's be realistic, given a choice between playing for us or Everton it's no guarantee he would've chosen us.
  5. Out for three weeks according to physioroom - Luna and Bennett out for the same timescale.
  6. Was he wearing a stained vest or carrying a shopping bag whilst dressed in full kit?
  7. Absolutely spot on. The quick fixes are what has dropped us in the brown stuff, the rebuilding is going to take time.
  8. Call me a traditionalist, but I expect midfielders to actually have some ability on the ball rather than without it. Otherwise we may as well sign Mo Farah, bet he could put in a cracking shift. tbh none of them are that bad individually, but they really do not complement each other at all. I think they do compliment each other, but yesterday it was pretty dreadful. I think Sylla compliments Delph and Westwood, as we saw last season. Delph is a lot better than KEA, he is basically our 'Cabaye'. A poor mans version but a version at least. I'd actually like to see Bacuna given another chance outside of the right back role, whether it be in the middle of the park or out in the wing. Maybe Bacuna and Delph with Sylla sitting behind them to mop up. Bacuna and Delph are both quick and attack minded, but they can also defend well. Might be worth a shot. Not sure about Bacuna back in midfield. He really was shocking against Liverpool. I mean really really aweful It was Bacuna's full debut and in hindsight perhaps not the best game to throw him in at the deep end. We've missed Sylla's energy and his ability to press the opposition so it's a no brainer for me to reunite him with Delph and Westwood and give them a run of games together before judging them.
  9. I hope he's back for the Boggies game.
  10. Agree KHV, at least he is prepared to run at defenders and commit them into tackles. Yes he is frustrating and unpredictable but he's a different option to what we already have.
  11. As Lambert has pointed out he's only a year or so into an extensive rebuilding process so I'm happy to reserve judgement at this point. We've been guilty in recent history of resorting to quick fixes so unless something drastic happens like relegation then I'm happy to let him take the time he believes it will take to take our club forward.
  12. A fit Gabby is an asset to the team. He can stretch the play with his pace. He seems to play well against Wet Spam so i hope he's okay for the weekend.
  13. Ditto. Both my lads play on a sunday so that's 3 season tickets going spare. It's bloody annoying especially as Fulham is also on a sunday so that's 2 games in a row I'll miss.
  14. For us of a certain age, radio choice is pretty limited especially when commuting now that Kerrang is only available digitally. I'm too young for PlanetRock and far too old for Radio 1. Talksport is on by default.
  15. Can't abide Moose or Mick Quinn. Danter is amusing for a bluenose but now only listen to this station as a last resort.
  16. I'd rather we paired Delph and Sylla together. They compliment each other.
  17. It's a close call at the moment, keep listening to Black Dog Barking by Airbourne and Led Zepp IV
  18. Airbourne - Live it Up - great song from a great album
  19. the old 3rd decision, effectively now league 1 An" honour" that we unfortunately share. Yes but we only spent 1 season in that division, their stay was a little longer
  20. What an awful statement.
  21. Andi looks short on confidence - I'm a big fan of his but playing out wide isn't working at the moment. Would like to see him play a more central role if we switch formation.
  22. How did this help us on Sunday? The Tottenham game was another indication what a passenger he is when we are not dominating possession. In his own words, his role is to 'protect the defense' and his fails miserably at this time and again. Are you seriously asking why it is important to make yourself available for a pass? Until they scored they weren't hurting us and the second goal came as a result of us chasing the game. It's only his second season in the premier league and you clearly won't cut the kid any slack.
  23. His cameo on sunday was promising - I'd start with him at the Toffees and see how he does and use Andi as an impact sub.
  24. Westwood is excellent at making himself available for a pass, alot of his work is off the ball. One issue on sunday was the lack of movement up front at times which then limited the options for the midfield. It was evident when Delph picked up the ball and beat about 3 Spurs players without moving forward - there wasn't an option to play the ball forward because the strikers were static. Personally I'd go back to a midfield of Westwood, Delph and Sylla and we may then see the form of Westwood improve.
