  2. The first couple of times I went too Highfield Road they didn't have ANY fans, never mind ones lobbing bricks and bottles !
  3. It's Arsenal we have too watch, they are the most likely candidates to pitch up for him, and to be honest it wouldn't be the first time
  4. Why would he be playing with the u21s? He is a first teamer now. An utterly moronic question. Why is it moronic? He is playing at a level above that now, he already has played international this week and no doubt will be in the first team squad Saturday, so why would he be playing with our u21s tonight? He wants too ?
  5. Personally I don't give a toss about the Lions Club, but surely if they have chosen to become part of the "establishment" they should show a quorum of respect for it, it sounds a bit like they want to be in the club, but not abide by the rules.
  6. £1.50 for Albrighton - they'll never move that on
  7. As a victim of this syndrome, I sincerely hope not
  8. I don't think we will ever find as good a custodian for our club as Randy Lerner, in the moral sense. Sure some will argue that is the root of the problem, “heart in the right place – bit no football business nous”, and what we need is a hard nosed business man, who will take us forward on a firm financial and football basis, is that not what Herbert was ? ….. and look how miserable that was. In my experience you have to judge somebody by what they have done historically, rather than what you surmise they will do, and on that basis I think Mr Lerner will find us a good owner – and will stand by us through the process, because let's be honest that's what he has always done, and that's what he is saying he will do now. I also personally feel he must be a "Fan" - why else would you spill that much money, without a way of recouping it ? again he has always said he is a Villa fan, why should we doubt it ? he certainly has acted like one, head strong and without logic, that's what we do isn't it ?
  9. Thank you Randy. With this mornings announcement and without knowing who we will be sold too, we have to look at what he tried to do and how he did it, and I think he genuinely tried his best, he spent a lot of money here, unwisely yes, but for all the right reasons, and whilst I understand why younger fans who did not have the full Ellis experience think he would be better, for my money he was a billion times better. Only time will tell what his real legacy is, I hope he recoups some of the money he spent, but I also hope some of that debt does not travel with us. I just wish in my heart of hearts it had worked for him, because none of us can deny he wanted the best for us, just didn't know how to do it, he could have been the best owner we could of wished for. I have real mixed feelings this morning, somebody above used the word “Sad” ….. , and it is.
  10. Looking at those accounts it's apparent that the managements brief has not been to cut back, but to stop the the figures climbing even higher, whilst maintaining an "acceptable" league position, based on that I can't help but think that if we had not had so many injuries to our better players we would have achieved this.
  11. At long last - well said that man ! Up the revolution
  12. If we can end the season exactly where we are now (10th) it'll do me.
  13. Lambert has been after Bertrand since he joined us, I am sure he is pleased to bring him in now......, just hope we have the ability to keep him, should he sparkle.
  14. Well that's that then, Ellis is still a ****, and more importantly - we haven't forgotten either.
  15. How would a Holt Ender feel and respond if a chairman built a fence from the front too the back of the stand in an attempt to break the grass roots opposition to him by splitting them in half today ? Ellis was and is a ****,and always will be
  16. Not in the remotely interested, mainly because I think for the money involved we could do a lot lot better, but also because I have a gut feeling that he would upset the apple cart with his sulky persona
  17. God Yes - Swap Benteke for Zaha and cash -- I would do it all day and all night, what a great idea, about £45 Million and they pay 75% of Zaha'a wages
  18. I took the original poster to be advocating vigilantly style justice ... Your post seems more about a rational type thought that many people would have... But I suspect ultimately wouldn't go through with OT ... But it's what made Prisoners such a great film , it kinda places the Hugh Jackman character in just such a dilemma And I suspect you may be wrong
  19. Taken on board Snowy, but at what point do we start slagging people off for loosing there rag over such an emotive subject -don't get me wrong, I really do get your point about blood money etc. A deplorable and flawed strategy. BUT name calling for such emotions - just saying
  20. I for one won't sleep tonight, I read the NME article, I wish I hadn't. With regard to justice, we have a system - for better or worse it's the only one we have ....BUT - if I was in close proximity of him, I doubt I could keep my hands in my pockets, and i don't think I would be focused on the consequences. does that make me a keyboard warrior ?
