He didn't do too much wrong today, if Gollini never made that error it would be a different story. Our players looked in good condition, they were pressing throughout the game, there is A LOT more fight in our team. The midfield is just lacking quality and this will be amended. It's tough a job but RDM knows what he is doing, we need to give him time.

We weren't bad, we were the best team second half, i'm still optimistic knowing there will be more signings. Xia will see this and push ahead with these signings. We will get them back at Villa Park imo

Exactly what i said in the pre match thread, our midfield is lacking real bite and athleticism. Tshibola has that ability however we need another player. Our issue is that we are playing with two deep lying midfielders that are not good at that role. Our defence is good so is our front line. Our midfield needs real investment.

It's going to be an interesting game because we are going to see what level we are in terms of quality in this league. The only thing that i'm worried about in this game is the lack of bite and goals in our midfield which is the difference between ourselves and Wednesday. We don't have a player that can pick a player out and i really don't know where our chances are going to come from, however Wednesday do know.. I'm going for a Wednesday win

Well it's a shame because of how long he has been with us however i guess it's time for him to move on. For whatever reason i felt that he could do a good job for us in the Championship, maybe because he is our leading premiership goalscorer and he is under 30. But i guess this says A LOT about his current condition mentally and physically, RDM, Steven Clarke, Kevin Bond & even Marchesi must have really came to the conclusion that Gabby does not have a future at our club and even this league. I was one of those fans that felt that he would quickly diminish into the lower leagues once he lost his pace if he didn't work on other aspects of his footballing ability. This has happened a lot quicker than i thought it would..

Would be very surprised if we win, Sheff Weds have a good dressing room, strong will to win and have strengthened considerably. Hillsborough will be rocking and it will come as a shock to some of our players on Sunday. McCormack may not start because he is lacking match fitness.

I think we need to accept that staying in the Championship for two seasons is a real possibility. I genuinely cannot see us troubling the top 2 because we lack grit, togetherness mixed with quality. Look at the past teams that have been promoted in the past, they all have similar qualities, this current squad resembles a QPR or Fulham, not a Leicester or Burnley that got promoted. We were always going to have difficulties shipping away these players and building a team for promotion in a short space of time. This current regime will get my support especially due to the fact that the season has NOT EVEN STARTED! Aston Villa Football Club need to reinvent themselves, create an identity and have some stability, this all would not have happened in pre-season..

This is a rebuilding process that could potentially take up to 2-3 years. Saints had to do it, so did Leicester we may be the same unfortunately

We certainly need some width in that team, we need two wingers with good delivery, that can take non floating corners and score 5 goals each and we need a 20 goal striker. It makes sense to why RDM wants to offload eight players, because our squad is too big to follow his ideas and philosophy. The main problem is that we don't have a set way of playing. We don't have a style of football, whether that is Long ball, direct play, or play from the width, we lack an identity. I think this is because we have so many players in that squad that are used to playing one way, which is s***. Once RDM is able to offload those players and bring his own in we may see more more balance in our play.

I feel very optimistic and assured with RDM in charge. Why is it hard to accept that some of these bad eggs are going to stick with us. I don't know what to expect from this squad but whoever is in the starting 11 i will be supporting them 100% if they show required commitment.

Would be a big mistake if we sold him to a rival. He has goals at this level. i would rather keep him than gabby

I still believe we need 4-5 players before the season starts. We will need to get 2 wingers, a right back, and two strikers. I also wouldn't mind another experienced championship central midfielder. We are 3 weeks away from the opening game, i am beginning to worry.

It's a shame, however if we achieve what Xia has planned for us, then won't be looking back at this moment with any regret..
