  1. I do agree Pearson would have been a greater worry, i've been doing some brief research since my last post and i've noticed that he had Atiillo Lombardo and Massimo Battara as well as Eddie Newton as part of his backroom staff at Schalke, they seem to be big names I hope they can have a positive effect on our squad if he decides to bring them.
  2. I will support him 100% however i do have concerns about; 1) His backroom staff 2) His knowledge of the transfer market I really want him to prove me and the rest of his doubters wrong. He could easily be our Karanka or Flores!! Welcome RDM
  3. Pearson for me is the better candidate than RDM. The squad needs a major rebuild, RDM does not have experience in doing that and although he could acquire the experience whilst doing that at out club its a risky move. Pearson knows the lower leagues inside and out, i'm sure he could make the right signings for us, There are gems throughout the lower leagues that we may not be aware of. It would be very hard to trust RDM in the market and with the budget, unless there was a technical director in place that had significant knowledge to support him.
  4. Well the more questions we have about our new chairman the more uncertainty there is.. These questions need to be answered by the chairman and the group. Didn't they try to purchase us last summer but talks broke down due to a crash in the Asian markets? This doesn't seem straight forward as a Man City takeover..
  5. http://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/aston-villa-gossip-manager-latest-11359697 Totally agree
  6. If we find a manager that can identify these players.. All won't be done in one season it will take time to build
  7. This is not going to be easy.. These Championship teams that are being mentioned did not build a squad in one summer.. There needs to be a sense of realism i mean look how much QPR have spent and look where they are.
  8. I understand your point, it is vital that we do get promoted next season however i just cannot see this happening. Unless we keep hold of our best players i.e (Ayew, Gueye,Amavi, Traore), clear the deadwood and sign the right players, have the right manager with the right backroom staff. Then we will have a chance. The real question is how can AVFC achieve promotion next season?
  9. Things are very interesting now that we have been sold, we are the hot topic on football forums amongst Championship clubs because they're not sure what to expect from us now.. The first step has been made, now we have several more before Pre season. I think we are going to be very aggressive in the transfer market however that does not always result in success. This is the best chance the club has in scrapping everything that is bad at this club and creating something new that is sustainable. I look at a Southampton & Swansea and they have a philosophy that is the blueprint of their infrastructure, which is what AVFC need. We currently lack an identity, i only hope that we are now able to build a real footballing identity. As much as i want promotion next season, i feel like if we throw tons of money into the market we could become a yoyo club. Next season will be tough, i would be happy with a top 6 finish with signs of real progress at the very least. Rome wasn't built in a day..
  10. time to tune into talksport lads
  11. Well wow.. this takeover has gathered a lot of pace this week. What will this mean for AVFC? I personally think for Aston Villa FC, this summer is going to be huge. The new owners will not be messing about, they want Premiership and European football ASAP. There will be alot of money spent this summer, Comolli will be brought in, he has probably identified a list of players that he believes that will take us up this season and RDM is the part of this formula. I am not to fussed about RDM because i can only imagine that these new owners will be relentless, if we find ourselves in bad form i can see RDM being sacked right away with a manager put into place. I am very certain that will be very aggressive in the transfer market this summer. Interesting times ahead..
  12. Is he the latest to be linked now?
  13. I've noticed this too, he has also retweeted an article about a Chinese Consortium buying Everton around Feb. And he is still a Shareholder at Everton.
  14. Goldson from Brighton looks very good he will be a future prem player, he's from Wolverhampton so i'm sure he wouldn't mind a move back to the midlands . I also like the look of Chris Martin for Derby. If Alan Judge recovers i wouldn't mind him too. We need a team that can go up to Rotherham on a Tuesday night and not get rolled over. This current crop would sadly
  15. This is the only good news we can have because we need to get the ball rolling. I'm happy that this group want to break even by the very least, if this is true, they must have a cohesive business and football strategy in place to make this happen. What will be interesting is whether they are going to be hands on or are they are going to be behind the scenes and employ people to run the club? One thing that i am dead certain on is if our club is going to be Chinese owned then the name of our football ground will change.
  16. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3373017/Peter-Kenyon-nursed-Atletico-Madrid-financial-health-Diego-Simeone-richer-club-s-clutches.html hmmmm
  17. Middlesbrough structure vs ours An absolute disgrace Middlesbrough Aston Villa Whoever arrives to our club needs to restructure this whole football club top to bottom.
  18. I'm hoping Brighton do not win today so that we can look to Chris Houghton
  19. If we are going to have any chances of promotion next season, we will need a big squad and at least two strikers that are capable of scoring 15 goals in a season i.e chris martin, nahki wells. We would also need a midfield that can contribute 20 goals (5 goals each). I.e tom Ince ect. If the takeover is successful before the summer & Pearson is in charge, then I fully expect us to look towards these type of signings
  20. Looking at his twitter page now, i am pretty confident that we're going to get a full season out of him.
  21. Hopefully Hollis 'extensive talks' if this is happening is understanding the prospective buyers vision for the club ect We get a new owner with funds great.. what about the board room? would they have football knowledge? would they have the know how to run a club?
  22. Very true, i could tolerate him knowing that our boardroom was in good condition, now that its not he has to go.
  23. The scariest thing is that whoever our club is sold to we do not know their intentions or vision. He could sell the club to anyone...
