Guest av1
Daily Mail: Former Tottenham boss Andre Villas-Boas, 36, did not approve four of Spurs' seven summer signings and asked chairman Daniel Levy not to buy them. Interesting if true.

BG_Villa_Fan
Apparently those 4 are Chadli, Chiriches, Lamela and Eriksen. Might be bullshit but I definitely don't see the need for Lamela in their squad and it is quite apparent Villas-Boas didn't fancy him too much, despite him being their most expensive transfer. Chiriches, I think will be a good player.
AVFCforever1991
According to daily mail, it was Lamela, Eriksen, Chirches and Chadli he didn't want..
AVFCforever1991
Baldini clearly had a say in the Lamela transfer, probably some dodgy deal with Roma.

Rovers13
The media doesn't like the idea of a director of football so they make up bullshit about it. It was AVBs choice to bring in and work with Baldini.
Zatman
It was Levy who wanted the Director of Football role which he has tried and has failed many times for him. Levy might be a tough negotiatior but he hasnt a clue about football. not 1st time his interference has cost the team

The_Lions_Roar
Why do these jokers even think they should be challenging for the title, they'll do well to challenge for 4th place. Getting more annoying than Newcastle fans!
LondonLax
http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/andre-villasboas-gave-franco-baldini-the-green-light-over-summer-transfers-claims-tottenham-coach-les-ferdinand-9015317.html On my phone so I can't paste the text. Ferdinand does admit there that "most of the signings were suggested to him (AVB)". We may never know how keen Boas actually was on those players himself. It does seem though that the players Boas did want were out of Spurs reach (Moutinho, Villa, Willian etc). Perhaps he gave Levy a list of players, Levy couldn't get those deals over the line so he suggested more up and coming prospects instead of the established players AVB was suggesting? The_Rev
That model is successful for a lot of clubs to be fair.

AVFCforever1991
Erikson is a very good midfielder so I don't understand why he wouldn't want him I guess he wanted someone a little older. What good is it to AVB to have a 21 year with potential? When odds are he won't be there in 3 years.
