Actually so long as Sunderland don't win - its a good result for us. Sunderland on 37 or 38 - either one means they overtake us if they get one more victory ?

Yeah it does matter, if we manage to get 1 more point and make 41 points and they win one of their 2 remaining they are also on 41. Defeat is best.

but as it stands - them on 40 would still go above us - them on 37 are still a threat

I will stop calculating if we get one more point

Please stop now. Even without Sunderland there's Norwich, Newcastle, Wigan and Southampton. We're fine.

Meh, fly in the ointment but that's it. Still Norwich, Mags and Wigan who are more ****.

Even Sunderland are ****. They've lost all their players. It's just that Stoke are woeful.

People's confidence in our safety is really quite concerning. We are FAR from safety.

Far? kk.

EDIT: THE pessimism in here genuinely hurts. Especially after the ecstasy at Norwich.

Sunderland have all the momentum and Stoke don't seem to have the players to punish them on the counter. Would not be surprised it they score another in the next 10 minutes.

Yeah and Sunderland are back up to 11 men.  Di-canio appears to be playing on the left wing.

Teams below us (apart from Wigan who we are still to play) are one victory from overtaking us. Every team below us has a winnable fixture. Our 'winnable' fixture must be seen as Wigan who will also be targeting that game to get 3 points and seemingly have all the luck in the world.

Perhaps 'far' was too strong a word, but I still think we need some fortune and a positive result in one of our next two games. Sure, our recent performances suggest we will, but it still remains ridiculously tight down there.
