what do we hope for with the results.

Stoke - Tottenham - they are above us anyway. Doesnt matter.

Norwich - West Brom - Can see West Brom **** it up

Newcastle will hammer a poor QPR side

That leaves Southampton - Sunderland. A draw keeps Sunderland below us. Southampton will go above unless they lose.

With Sunderland playing Tottenham and Southampton playing Stoke last round...

May be better for a Southampton win against Sunderland. Wigan could pull off the miracle which would then see Sunderland going down if they lose to Tottenham as well

Arsenal must win or it could be VERY tense.

Why? What happens if they get a point?

Must win or draw. I just cant see this game being a draw. Both teams will be going at it full tilt.

If that happens, Arsenal will rack up a cricket score. They're playing Wigan, not Barcelona

Today's performance has convinced me that we are as good as the top teams in this division and only corrupt refereeing cost us.

Ehhhhhh....

Ehhhhhhh...

Are you from Liverpool?

Not only is it a last game shoot out but we go into it without Benteke

Richard no offense mate but this is overly pessimistic. You sound like it is a given that a depleted Wigan are going to go to the Emirates and beat an Arsenal side that are desperate for points to give themselves a chance of playing Champions League football next season. It simply is not going to happen.

The bookies I believe are giving 9/1 on a Wigan win. As a one off just for you as you seem to be so convinced it is going to happen I will give you odds of 10/1 on a Wigan win so long as your willing to bet £100 on it. Money can go to the foundation that Petrov has set up.

maybe pessimistic mark but its just the way our season has been

Fine if that's how you feel mate. You happy to take the bet then? Be for a good cause as well.

You lot are unbelievable. What in today's performance showed we are doomed against Wigan?

The red card for our top scorer.

who scored almost 42% of our goals this season

Firstly we don't need Benteke against Wigan as we can beat them without him (they are shit remember!) and secondly, after they fail to win at Arsenal on Tuesday then it won't matter one little bit.

End of story.

It really hinges on a 90 minute performance from another team that will determine whether we actually go into the last round of matches with a chance of going down. If Arsenal lose on Tuesday their fans will be calling for Wenger's head. I'm sure he will have them fired up for that game. What I don' want is for it to be 0-0 after 80 minutes as Wigan will no doubt score a jammy late winner with a handball.

Additionally, can get odds of 120/1 for a Wigan, Sunderland, Norwich and Newcastle four-fold.  Highlighted those as they all really need to win tomorrow/Tuesday to be able to finish above us.  Can't see many points for any of them last game (us, Spurs away, Arsenal at home and City away).  Those odd are far more generous than the 40/1 outright relegation we're showing with skybet.

Wigan are taking a barebones squad to the Emirates, with a minimum of 3 of their first choice defenders out, days after a leg sapping cup final, with the worst defensive away record in the league, on the back of an extremely lackluster display against Swansea, to face the most in form team in the country, who are unbeaten in their last 8 home games, in their last home game of the season, as they push for a champions league spot, with the best home attacking record in the league...

...and all we need to hope for is that Arsenal don't get beat to avoid having our destiny in our own hands.

Chill.

There are some silly f**kers on here today!

Our Premiership survival was sorted at Norwich.

Wigan are not, I repeat not, going to win 2 games on the spin to overtake us.

Is the arsenal game on sky on tues ?

Does it matter?

Just go to the pub, have a good time and rest easy in the knowledge that Wigan are not capable of winning at Arsenal!

today result was a kick in the teeths

Not mathematically, but the world isn't black and white.

The crowd at FT wasn't a crowd of 'OH NO WE'RE GOING DOWN', it was a crowd of '**** sake, we didn't deserve t get beat. oh well. UTV. There was chanting etc outside the ground.

For us to stay above them, one of Norwich, Sundlerand and Newcastle must get only a draw and a loss from the remaining two games. Newcastle have QPR and Arsenal, Norwich have Baggies and Man City, and Sunderland have Southampton and Spurs. You have to think that one of those three teams getting only a draw tomorrow guarantees us staying above them, as they all have tough final games. Of course, if Arsenal beat Wigan this is all irrelevant.

In other words, we still have lifelines if Wigan win on Tuesday.
