drat01
Sir: How's about this as an idea. For charity - keep with me I know we get lots of requests - how about if the club put up say 10 items on ebay or various internet forums. All profits to Villa supported charities. The items would be one off's from the club - e.g. a signed T shirt from Randy, a trip to VP and sit in the directors box etc. Perfect gift for Xmas etc and raise some monies and everybody is a winner

MYSTERYMAN
General , Our little lot have hired out the top floor of the Holte Pub for the Blues game there will be 120 of us private party we would like to extend a welcome to join us . I will even pay for your breakfast :winkold: On another point great to see so many of our ex players at the game Saturday 17 in total can't help though thinking that we should give the guests some information beforehand of who some of them are . I have been a Villa fan and going down for 40 years but the likes of Mark Burke and Bryan Small are not known to quite a few era of fans and its embarrassing when they don't know who they are or worse end up asking the likes of me with the usual ' who was that then ? ' Was in the ' directors box for the latest iniative directors experience ' good to meet Mr Lerner very interested to hear him talk about Villa Park and how he would never move from it and the plans for the stadium . We are definately in the right hands .
c-krulak
General Krulak here: 1. Drat01. Not a bad idea! We are constantly looking at ways to increase our efforts re. charity...especially our own particular charity, ACORNS. You may have a winner here. 2. My sense is that Randy will be at the game...cheering on our team. 3. MYSTERYMAN. The initiative to open up the Director's Box for an "experience" was Randy's. This is something that is done in the US all the time. It costs a bit but it is a helluva experience.
bully
General, What feedback have you or Randy received from MON, the coaches and/or players regarding the improved facilities at Bodymoor Heath given that they have now used this facility for a number of months? Are you aware of any situation to date whereby the new facility can be directly credited as a beneficial factor as opposed to the old set up eg. a player returning from injury quicker due to the improved workplace? The results on the pitch seem to be better already in particular the reserves and youth team who are currently flying.

piav_k4
Hi General, Firstly, I think it’s amazing that the new regime at Villa communicates so directly to the Villa faithful (Mostly down to you! That’s the brown nosing out of the way nice and early). So thank you for that. I don't know if it has previously been raised, but on Saturday in the Holte End Upper K4 male toilets, it might as well been a gathering place for smokers. The alarms were sounding and one fan even said to the stewards (who were showing no interest) 'Are you gunna try and stop me boys?!'. You can't blame the poor lads mind, as some of the smokers were rather big, and had consumed several pints! I think this is something that needs to be addressed for the Derby game ASAP, because I fear Villa are going to be issued with a large fine other wise. The only way to stop these smokers is to identify the places they are smoking, and put the biggest stewards on guard there! Half drunk grown men are not going to listen to weedy stewards. Pricey_1984
alright general, now that the mls league is over (maybe a play off game left) are there any plans to get Juan Pablo Angel to villa park as guest to say a proper goodbye to the fans? P.S. Keep up the good work, up the villa!!!! Pricey.
KOONER
Hi General, I posted the below in the main thread area. I was wondering if you assist in this situation as not had much luck with the ticket office. Its a catch 22 situation. Hi Folks, I have just been onto the ticket office in hope of securing tickets for this particular clash! Unfortunately I have been told as I do not have a season ticket or recent booking history I am not allowed to purchase a ticket as this is a priority game. My issue is that I spend most of my time working away thus never in close proximity to watch any home games. I was hoping this would have been a ideal opportunity for me to take my nephew to his his first Villa game as it falls on his Birthday. The girl on the phone did mention if I knew someone with a booking history or season ticket, she could possibly use them as a reference. I just wanted to ask you my fellow villans if there was any possible solution in sight? Any suggestions will be appreciated. Cheers.
Joey
General what are your thoughts on today's news that a Premier League match may soon take place on American soil? Are you for or against, and is it something that has been considered in the past by Randy? For the record I'm against it as I think it's not great for English fans and it also devalues the MLS, but that's just my two cents.
thegiddygambler
General, it is high time that the club shop in city centre started selling match tickets again! I had to get a ticket for a mate today so had to make the jaunt to Villa Park, I was going into Birmingham city centre anyway so would have been much more convenient. You'd also boost attendances IMO with spur of the moment purchases. Also, I went into the club shop at VP, I bought a nike jumper. the geezer working there, presumably the manager as he had a shirt & tie on hadn't heard anything about this 15% discount so he asked a bird who said it was just for the website only. The club could inform us and save us having to ask such questions, especially when the manager didn't even know. I wasn't sure whether I could get 25% seeing as 10% off with season ticket. Finally, NO changing rooms in the club shop. Not very professional really and I'm certain our hopefully soon to be competitors, The Big Four must have them. So I had to strip off in full view of the staff! Rant over. These are minor issues, I'm more than happy with the way AVFC is being run! c-krulak
General Krulak here: 1. Training Ground: Universally the feedback from players and coaches is that the set up is magnificent...best they have seen. I would say the Carew's return was expedited by the facilities that we have at Bodymoor Heath...to inlcude the motion pool and the physio room. 2. Smokers: We were inspected by the City last game...did not exactly hit a home run but did get some positive comments. We continue to escort people out of Villa Park for smoking in the stadium. We will continue to do so...and will "beef up" the presence of security in the loos. We cannot afford to continue to break the law. 3. Kooner: Please call Nicky Keye (Hd of Ticketing) and explain the issue to her. I know she will sort it. 4. We are aware that the city center shop is not totally sorted yet. We are working on it. I remember when there wasn't even a mirror. Interestingly, there is no dressing room at our store in Villa Park...and the last time I went to the store at ManU (2005) they had no dressing room. JohnCresswell
General, What is the club's position on the reported talks between owners of clubs in the Premier League to play some games on foreign land, like the NFL recently did by coming to London? Was Mr Lerner at this meeting, or any representative of the club?

chefdoc2000
Hi General, Any chance that you could make a suggestion that the reporters at the weekly press conference be given a microphone, as well as MON so that we could here the questions that they ask, as it is very difficult to hear them on Villa world. Cheers. Don't know if anything can be done about this but was the same problem this week
ianrobo1
General, I have posted a thread about Seville aand the sytem they play throughout the club I would like to see probably on the OS a detailed report on how we scout for players (youth level not first team) what goes into this and how we try and get the best amonsgt strong compeitition from other clubs we are rightly proud of our youth team system and i think a nice article giving us full details would be appreciated Also any new plans can be discussed as I am sure things have changed (for the better) at this level since Randy came. Denis_B
I have read that Gareth Barry will be the youngest player to hit 300 Prem. League appearances on Sunday. Do the club plan to make any sort of award to him at the Derby game?..... I'm sure the fans would love it
