1. TV's at Holte Inn....let me look into that one. I agree, they should be top quality in such a top quality location.

Villa Business told me yesterday they plan to put projectors / bigger screens in the Holte for the Blues game

Good day general,

I am having some issues with some items I bought online at Villa Direct and I am having these items delivered to Cayman Islands. I have tried to email customer service and the email has bounced back three times. Do you have another email address of someone I can contact and help me resolve the problem I am having? I could email you the issue if you like, but may not be necessary

Thank you..

Hi General,

This is my first post on this site and I just spent a couple of hours reading through the previous questions and the answers from yourself - which I found very good and quite unbelievable! to think that you do actually come on here and communicate so much with the fans is amazing and very much welcomed.

I am a 35 year old Birmingham man who is Villa through and through, I had no choice as I was born in Church Road - Aston to a family whose blood runs claret and blue! I have to say that Yourself, Randy, Martin, the players and the rest of the board and backroom staff are doing a fantastic job and long may it continue. I have a season ticket and sit next to a friend and my uncle and we have loved it this season, the great atmosphere has finally returned to Villa Park and if you think it's good now then wait until we have the nights of European football back - they are out of this world!

I am so glad that you have kept your cool and continued to post on here because it seems like you repeat yourself over and over. I'm afraid us Villa fans have been promised so much in the past and suffered so much disappointment that we are never quite sure whether we are being misled but I'm sure all Villa fans will agree that this time we have a group of genuine people running the club who we can trust totally and it feels so comforting to know that.

A few things at the stadium will never change unfortunately because Man Utd fans ALWAYS get into all areas of the ground. Three members of my family all sat together in the North Lower for that game and they said they witnessed a Man Utd fan smack a small boy in the face just because the lad asked him to sit down. Apparently a steward was called to sort out the situation but he ignored the request and so a couple of Villa fans dealt out their own kind of "punishment" to the culprit. My Niece was so shocked by this that she called over more stewards and police to help and they then escorted the man and his friend out of the stadium. I think the only answer is for better quality stewarding in such cases as to avoid serious injury to people.

Apart from the odd poor result (not always fair i.e. Gerrard's dive for Liverpool's match winning free kick), this season is looking like a very promising one although I would hope for Martin to invest some of Randy's hard earned money on a good quality right back so that we can have Ollie back in the centre of defence with the Great Dane!

I don't know how often you talk with Martin and I know you have said that you don't influence future playing staff but could you PLEASE mention the name of Brazilian striker Alfonso Alves from the Dutch Club Heerenveen to him or one of the scouts? They may think he is rubbish but his goalscoring record at the moment is phenomenal and he looks perfectly suited to the challenges of the Premiership.

I hope you have the time to read this and I thank you in advance if you do.

Thanks also for giving us fans hope for a bright and successful future!

Jason aka Villarocker :D

i know this is probably the least inportant item on the 'to-do list' at the moment with more concerning issues closer to hand, but is there any plans in the future to change/re-name the witton lane stand? still calling it 'the doug ellis stand' has a small feeling of holding onto the awful past and the man that caused us to suffer!

cheerz ta very mooch!

The General has said about 1000 times that there aren't any plans to change the name. Our owner is a bit to classy to point score over the previous chairman.

General I know its been discussed at some point but is there any further news on changing the external Holte End steps ? Last I heard was that you were looking to change them to the old Trinity Road steps ?

Also is the murial for the back of the Holte End still in progress ?

Thank you

General,

All the talk in the last few days about an England bid for the 2018 World Cup and the grounds which would be used got me thinking. I believe that Villa Park was one of the proposed venues for the 2012 Olympics which seems to be approaching fast (where do the years go?). Have there been any developments regarding the use of VP as part of the Olympics? Would we (Villa) receive funding to upgrade facilities? Do Randy's plans for VP take into account the proposed Olympic usage?

Cheers

General,

I drive passed Villa Park every morning on my way to work and am impressed with the work that has gone on to improve the ground - I wonder if you could persuade someone to jet spray the Holte End steps, they are filthy and if they were gleaming white it would just finish the Holte off nicely!

Keep up the good work, thanks - Pedro

General Krulak here:

1. Villarocker: Thank you for the kind words...and welcome to the site. The issue of stewards is one that is being addressed by the Club. We recognize that they need to be more proactive and we have been stressing that.

2. Tazza and R.I.C.O.: There will be no change to the name of the Doug Ellis Stand. Randy is not the type of person who would "stick someone in the eye" by taking such a step. He respects Mr. Ellis and feels that such a step would not be proper. It is not Randy's style to take that type of action. For R.I.C.O.: I have ZERO idea where you got the thought that the naming of the stand was part of the conditions of the sale. That is ABSOLUTELY incorrect!!!!! Make sure you know what is accurate when you post something like that...it is read by many people and can give the wrong impression.

3. MYSTERMAN: Yes, we do have plans for the exterior of Holte End...not to worry.

4. We will be ready to hold World Cup games at Villa Park if England is chosen.

5. As I indicated, the new website will be ready to go the WEEK of 1 November...that gives me 7 days...and we will make it!! Maybe very soon...hint.

6. The entire stadium stairs and seating area were steam cleaned this past summer...entirely. We moved tons of dirt and filth over a several week period. If you think it is bad now, then you should have seen it before. I am sad that you think it looks bad because we invested a great deal of money cleaning the entire stadium.

I have no doubt about that but my question was specifically about the 2012 Olympics.........

How's the back btw, I hope you are fully fit for the small heath game.

Thanks General really think that will set the Holte End apart from any stand in the country !

Just rang the ticket office over 40k tickets sold for Derby they are very confident of a sell out , gobsmacked to be honest that we could sell out for that game tells me that with a few pushes here and there we can get past the 40k average .

By the way I noticed Gareth Barry is using my 12th man comment in his phone calls to fans , think I should have registered that as a trademark . :winkold:

Saw Lee Preece he is happy with the car parking offered for match day .

On the contrary general, I have been to the last 2 reserve matches and the stadium looks immaculately clean.

You are welcome General - thanks for the acknowledgement!

Glad to see that the stewards will be more proactive in the future. There has always been a record of good behaviour at VP and it would be a shame to spoil that because of abusive away supporters taking up seats that should only be taken by the Villa Park faithful!

General, have you ever experienced the Villa v Birmingham City derby before? even if only on dvd? The pride and passion is immense and it means so much to us fans when we beat them :) it certainly makes it a lot easier to attend work the next day!

General,

I know this has probably been asked before but would it be possible for the club to look into package deals for those Villans outside the UK. Villa have quite a large fanbase here in Ireland (largely thanks to Mr Paul McGrath!) and we would love to get over to Villa Park more often.

Only the other day a mate of mine and I were saying we would seriously consider buying a season ticket if it were possible to get a return flight on the same day. I know it may not be possible but maybe the club could look into a partnership with BMI Baby?

I'm sure that our other international Villa Talkers would love to deal directly with the club when booking their trips also.

Cheers General,

Keep up the good work!

This is something I'd really like to see too. It might be a bit more difficult, but there are a fair few Villans who would travel a bit more often if it was possible.

Gentlemen,

In all fairness to the club putting together packages for overseas visitors is something that they could never do as well, nor as cheaply as individuals themselves. If the club did do something, then they would inevitably open themselves up to criticism for being overpriced.

For the Emerald Isle there are plenty of seats on offer from Dublin every day with both Aer Lingus and Ryanair, and for weekends the cheap seats are returns from Ireland (lots of Brits heading the other way). Cork, Shannon and Knock are also all served by low fare carriers.

SAS will start a direct BHX-Stockholm service next year, and offer attractive weekend fares.

It is also expected that Norwegian will start a direct Oslo service.

Where the club can help (and no doubt would) is by looking at overseas ticket applications with some sympathy.
